    I didn't know so many creatures used culverts! I always thought of them as places humans have disrupted the natural flow of water for their own purposes, devoid of life except for a few spiders. But seeing other animals traverse through them like that made me happy :)

    • @kevinbyrne4538

      In my town, a very long culvert carries a stream from an old mill pond, under a series of parking lots, and into a lake. During winter, ducks and geese live deep inside the culvert, where the environment is warmer. People who work in one store under which the culvert passes, claim that they can hear, through the floor, the birds quacking.

    • @abydosianchulac2
      @abydosianchulac2 2 роки тому +2

      It would depend on the size of the culvert, I'd imagine. But these can serve similar purpose to those wildlife bridges built to allow animals safe passage over roads.

    Wonderful; thanks for sharing that animal footage. A cousin of mine sets up motion cameras on our family property from time to time, he's caught images and movies of cougars, feral pigs, wildcats, squirrels and birds. Love seeing those otters strolling through!

    Cool to see the footage of those otters at the end, nice to know that those are roaming around in that area. Aside from the duck, there was a small passerine bird there too, which I thought could be the American Dipper, but according to online sources those are mostly only found near the western coast of North America.

    I'm so glad you decided to put the trail cam up for thr week and set it to motion sensor. We may not have seen any beavers but we got to see some birds, ducks and otters! I love otters. ❤️ Thank you Post for leaving it up. I agree with other comments that it was not a wasted effort! Stay safe and be well!

    Nice otters! We have a few passing through from time to time in our own little river on our back yard. They are the eurasian otters (Lutra lutra) and a little smaller than yours Lontra canadensis ones. They run up the riverbank and then slide down on their belly in winter time leaving nice tracks on the snow. They are very fun to watch.

    angry beavers, the guy with the excavator, whirlpools and black widows. post 10 universe is in the house. a channel i cant explain to my mates, our hero post 10 travels to struggling swamps and waterways to fix and prevent floods and to release built up water that his arch enemy the angry beavers build on culverts which are large pipes placed under roads that are surrounded by swamps and waterways. his cause is not helped by the guy with the excavator the evil city worker hell bent on bending culverts and helping the beavers.. the world needs this hero because: "it's definitely beaver related"

    Hey bud, it seems the motion sensor worked ok this time. The way it works is there are multiple sections on the sensor and when something moves from one section to another it trips. So when its straight on it doesn't work the best because they stay in the same section.
    Be careful with your back, I see you pulling big branches and sticks out. Pulling is not great for you back, you're only young still so doesn't effect you yet but if/when you slip a disc you'll realise. Try using a steel pole or something for leverage where possible
