Is this a cat back or axle back system? Also, have you heard a 3.6 with just the Atak for comparison? I'm having trouble deciding between the two and it's hard to tell online, they sound pretty similar in videos. I want it to be louder than stock but I don't want turn every head when i start it or drive down the street. I agree with you though, I'd prefer a deeper sound over a raspy or screamy sound. Also, would quad tips really sound much different than dual tips? I was looking at the dual tip options.
@@bradb9504 axle! The ATAK is louder with more rasp. It is REALLY hard to tell with video compression. Has a bit more burbles from my research. I kinda wish I got them instead somedays but then I also really like the game sound of this system lol. I’m not sure about the dual/quad tip sound differences but it really depends on your tastes in my opinion. I like the quad outlet design even though I’m not a huge fan of the Borla tips. I would assume the quad system would be SLIGHTLY louder in my opinion. As the dual system would only have the muffled path. The quad system (even without the valves has a loud and muffled path). You can reach out to Borla! They are really easy to talk to about this. Also, do not do any resonator delete with the 3.6. It sounds like crap.
@@ChrisFromFloriduh thanks for the info! That's a good idea, maybe I'll reach out to them. I guess my biggest question is, I like the stock sound inside the cabin just fine, but when bumpy roads cause a lot of road noise i really can't hear the engine over it. Can you always hear it now with the S type? I want to always hear it but i don't need it to be crazy loud. And yeah, I see a lot of people online swapping the resonator with X pipe but I don't really see a reason for it. Beautiful color btw!
@@bradb9504 thank you! Yep! You can definitely hear it if you go from a stock dual system to the Borla S Type. I’d say the S Type is as loud as the stock NPP (performance exhaust) but deeper on the low end. It’s really hard to explain but you KNOW it’s there but it’s not obnoxious as long as you keep the rest as factory.
Hi Chris, I heard you say the CAI intake is the best intake certified by GM. I had an AFE Momentum GT intake for my 22’ 3.6 but I removed and sold the intake after a fender bender accident. I want to buy another one but I’m not sure if I should go with CAI or AFE. What do you think? I also want to know where you found the Borla exhaust so cheap, they’re $1700 wherever I look!
@@drewdilf excellent question! I still prefer Cold Air Inductions brand, personally. I’m not familiar with AFE so I cannot speak to them. I got it from……I gotta look that up, I can’t remember. CSP Racing site.
Thanks I’m going to try to snag it when there’s a sale. I’m stuck deciding whether to trade in my car for a V8 or keep it longer while modding it. I’m kinda on your boat at the moment because I really want a V8 but can’t decide on which one I want or if it’s worth waiting for prices to go down (if they ever do)
@@drewdilf it’s really tough right now, I’ve been looking and there’s a lot of clapped out cars on the market. Good ones are either overpriced or snagged fast. Honestly, might get an s650 GT PP because I am a bit worried about the thefts on our cars lol. I don’t live in a big city but if I ever have to that’s what I worry about,
Yeah, my original order never got built and the one I found 5 hours from me sold to another customer, over MSRP. I wasn’t paying ofer MSRP for the same car with a V8, lol. Gonna pick up a pavement princess 1LE, C7 or ZL1 a few years from now instead. Or move to an S650x not sure.
@@ES-kh7fj you won’t regret it, lol. Especially if you track the car. Thats why I haven’t decided what v8 option I’m going with. Camaro is a better sports car over at least our 2016 Mustang.
I used to have a 2017 Camaro v6 I supercharged it I made 427 wheels I never regret it I was beating fbo 392 / Camaro ss/ mustang gt
