I have been daily driving my lt1 for 3 years now. And a 2010 SS before that. I never had a problem with visibility. I got used to it. I will admit, backing up without the rear camera would be a nightmare. But with the camera, it’s no problem. the trans shifts so fast and so amazing. And so smooth at low throttle. This is my first auto in decades, and I really don’t miss shifting because of this trans. As for the handling, it is absolutely exceptional. And with all season tires. With performance tires, I cannot imagine any BMW handling better than this car. My single gripe with this car is getting in and out. My 50 year old body complains to me every day. But it’s a price I gladly pay for such wonderfully driving car.
The LT1 fulfills the wish that nearly all V6 owners had through the 3rd and 4th gens: "I really wish we could do a V8 swap." GM listened about 20 years too late, but it's worth the wait. I absolutely love my '23 LT1.
Late review, but you nailed it! I have the RS LT1. I had a 2015 V6 until I traded up. Do not discount the V6. It handles as good as the LT1. Still, once I got used to the front end weight distribution difference, I fell in love with my new V8! Had a new Corvette behind me on a 2-lane road in the mountains today. Ain't saying he didn't have more muscle, but muscle and guts don't always match!
Comparing an LT1 to a Hellcat is like comparing a surgical scalpel to a sledgehammer. I traded in a 2016 C7 Corvette on a very well appointed 2022 LT1 and have zero regrets. The only things I miss are the HUD and the memory seats that my Z51 3LT had. Once I get behind the wheel and start driving I forget all about that. The additional creature features in the SS Camaro were not worth the additional cost to me. The 1LE package guarantees a harsher ride and I live in an area with pretty shabby roads. The 1LE would only appeal to me if I planned to track the car and I do not. I bought the car for it's handling, adequate power for daily driving and comfort for long trips with Recaro seats. I personally don't have any issues with visibility when I compare my experience to Mustangs, Afla 4C and Lotus. You are correct when you refer to the LT1 as more of a sports car than a muscle car. The back seat is entirely useless but the LT1 is a sports car with plenty of muscle when needed.
Fun fact the SS 1LE actually rides just as nice if not better than the LT1 because it uses magnetorheological dampers. It's shocking how well the SS 1LE and ZL1 non-1LE ride.
Two weeks ago went to buy EV.Saw a 2021 LTI Camaro converible in the lot with 8800 miles on it.Took for test drive and bought for cash right there.I need to make driving fun again.
You also get better brakes, larger wheel, lt1 badge and black bow tie as standard. I love how this car feels like a machine and not a luxury car filled with quality features i don't care about. You get a Camaro for its engine and chassis.
Yes and no. Engine and suspension on an SS w/o 1LE package yes. However the SS has a unique nose, staggered wheels/tires, 4 piston Brembo's front & rear (LT1 trim just the front) and auxiliary coolers just in case you are going to track the car.
If any of the newer V8 musclecars had no nannies whatsoever they would all be totaled Too damn heavy!! GM fd this car up by making the door sill so high to make it cartoon like, THrows the proportions way off . Get these back down to 32-3300 lbs they would be a rocket. Know lots like paddles but its nowhere near the experience of a manual. Enjoy them while you can before we are forced into neutered lame EVs; .already being banned in Ca.
Your complaints are pointless and make no sense. GM didn't f up anything, they asked Camaro owners if we wanted more practically and we said hell no. It's a Camaro, not a civic. It's a muscle car first, you want better visibility and lighter weight? Go Japanese or European.
From an older lady who has no intention of ever driving an electric car. I suggest you search for a new 2023 V6 in your local dealer inventory, test drive one, and make a good deal. The Camaro V6 has 335 horses, handles great, is more affordable in every way, and the engine has few issues in the long run. You can also get the quad exhaust which still offers a high quality sound. I have a V6 in a 20 year old car from GM and it's almost indestructible. This older "car girl" wishes you well. God bless you.

Have you had any problems with the valves or do you think there’s anything I should look out for going wrong?
@@eli5918 nope, no issues. also own a '23 LT1. daily driver, nothing wrong in the slightest.

I have a 2022 LT! Red Line edition. I love this car, handles so well and still plenty of acceleration.
Excellent review and filming, coming from a Challenger owner, much respect for your honest and unbiased review 👍🏼

My exact car 🥲
I have the exact same car except convertible. Drop the top and solve the visibility problem :)
Beautiful car!! Thanks for posting!!
These are some really quick shifts!!
Should test the 6spd manual version.

...by the way! ...what is the best car in the world!??
Do you feel this car loses some of the fun factor with the automatic transmission over the six-speed manual?
Hell no, this 10 speed is crazy good. Best auto I have experienced in a while.
Stop honking about visibility. If you drive a Camaro for a week, it won’t be a problem.
Feels faster?
Because it is!
2 pipe exhaust or 4 ??? You didn't pan down enough and you didn't say.
Isnt the LT1 basically an SS just different body?
Yes and no. Engine and suspension on an SS w/o 1LE package yes. However the SS has a unique nose, staggered wheels/tires, 4 piston Brembo's front & rear (LT1 trim just the front) and auxiliary coolers just in case you are going to track the car.

Love the All weather protection package mats...I also ordered these in my 23' 2SS. They look nice.
Something I’ll never have because everything thing is going electric in 3 years 😔

You can still buy them used bro gas stations will still be around in 3 years don’t be so dramatic 😂
Lmao what. Do you think they’re going to destroy all of them? It’s already millions of them out there, used ones will ALWAYS be on the market.
Not gonna happen. All these EV manufacturers will go bankrupt soon..
