Hi Rachel, thanks so much for this tutorial. I’m making these for my puppy for healthy treats. Your vids are awesome and I appreciate the time you put into your reviews and recipes. Never apologize for your kids making normal noises in the background- you are a mommy 1st, and a UA-camr second. Your kids are lucky to have a mom like you.
The amount of power spent in preparing these 😮
I just did my banana chips and it was great. I cut mine a little to thin now I know for next time. This is now my favorite UA-cam channel lol. Thanks
Yay! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I use a mandolin slicer for even slices now because I too have made thin slices lol.
Great job! Thanks
It just seems a lot of time for 18 chips. 6 hours of energy then buying them at the store in 30 seconds.
Oh the ones you made look soooo much better than the store bought ones!!! thanks for doing this video! I am going to make tomorrow!
The crisper pan has worked fine so far for me when dehydrating.
Thank you for stopping by my channel and commenting.
I find that it works great too. It makes just enough for about two people depending on what you are dehydrating, but I think the rack could come in handy if I wanted to crisp apple slices :)
Thanks for teaching me how to do this.
I’m just trying this with lime juice instead of lemon juice. Thanks for the video
Well done 👏
Awesome video ! It was super helpful. I’m gonna follow this and try to make dehydrated apple and jackfruit. Your banana chips came out beautiful !
Thank you so much 😊I really appreciate it. The apple is really good in the dehydrator as well. I have not done jackfruit, but that sounds really good!
Do you notice a huge increase in your energy bill the day you run the dehydrator? Always get freaked out turning on an oven for hours and hours. Maybe negligible though!
The Ninja Foodi is an Energy saver - so much so - I have almost stopped using my main oven - My supplier in the UK provides a meter that gives instantaneous energy readings - the savings are enormous.
High Temperature - Sourdough Bread in the oven I use 4Kw (one hour in a Dutch Oven in the Oven) - in the Foodi I only use 1.5Kw. Exactly the same quality.
Low Temperature - Dehydration 6 Hours at 55c (131f) in the Oven I use 3Kw whereas the the Foodi only uses 900w.
@@johnbroadway7709 im glad you posted your energy info
I was just wondering this, too!
Have you dehydrated nuts? I like pecans and they say to soak them before eating. The tannins are high in that kind of nut.
Kohl's sells the dehydrator rack and you can use your coupons and kohls cash to purchase...sells for 29.99 and I just used my 40% off on it...you can order online...
It's also a 5 tier rack
Hello please tell me what is the shelf life of the bananas and if you have to flip them halfway. Thanks for your help and the video
Hi Teeroo, no need to flip them at all :), regarding the shelf life, it really varies on how you store your food, and how much moisture is left in the bananas when completed. I found this article online (dehydratorlab.com/how-long-can-dehydrated-food-last) that discusses the life span of dehydrated fruit, and it mentions up to 5 years. Many other articles mention years as well, but I personally have never had to save them for years. Thank you for watching
Can you control the temp. I know you did it at 138 but can you go lower down to 80?
Hi Theresa, you can control the temperature, but the lowest temperature is 105* for the dehydrate function.
