Hey Robert! I went with your suggestion and my jerky came out perfect. I figured since I only had the default racks that came with the foodi I should try higher temp with lower time and boy did it work! This is a great channel! Thank you Tony!!!
Our family loves and makes beef jerky alot. We use London broil and ask the meat dept to slice 1/8 inch with their meat slicers. If I have to slice, I first put the meat in the freezer for a bit until it hardens slightly. This helps make slicing so much easier. I just put all the meat in the gallon ziploc bag and then add the other Ingredients. Its okay to fill the bag about half way full bc after all the Ingredients are in the bag zip it up and massage the Ingredients into to the meat. Then lay the ziploc bag flat onto a large casserole dish . By doing this most all the meat gets covered. Just to be sure flip the bag once halfway thru marinating. I actually leave mine in fridge over night. Liquid smoke, soy sauce, worcerstershire sauce, Tabasco, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, And brown sugar. Oh so yummy. It never lasts long in our house and the smell in the house while its dehydrating drives everyone crazy. Lol, Is it done yet mom. Lol I dehydrate mine on a large dehydrator but love the idea of doing it in the Ninja for smaller batches. Thanks so much for the idea bc I'm definitely going to give it a try. Love, love, love, beef jerky.
I thought my dehydrator racks were warped as well. I even tried to straightened them, thank goodness I couldn't, lol. I haven't tried jerky yet, but will soon.
I did 150 for 3.5 hours mind you my jerky was thin. Some pieces were getting real crispy so im glad i checked when i did.. i left a few of the thicker pieces back in the bottom im thinking like 45 more min atleast
Your video says set the Foodi for 6 hours and check at 5 hours. I printed your recipe and it says set the Foodi for 5 hours and check after 4. Would you clarify for me? Thanks and I do love your videos. :)
Sorry for the confusion, The foodi recipe book says 5 to 7 hours so I started it at six hours and checked after five hours but I found out with the thin cut of meat I was using( thinner than usual) four hours was all that was needed. So it truly depends on how thin your meat is 1/4 of an inch and thicker started at six hours check after five under 1/4 of an inch of meat four hours all you need
Love jerky! A couple of questions, what is the reason for using 2 bags to marinade the beef? Do slice with or against the grain of the meat? Thanks, love your videos. Simple and good, perfect combo!
+Connie Sowers I use two bags so all the meat gets covered in marinade, if you fill the bag up with too much meat only the meat on the bottom gets the marinade as it sits in the fridge, You’ll be amazed how much marinade get soaked up into the meat, cut against the grain For more tender beef jerky, if your having a hard time slicing it put the meat in the freezer for a few minutes to toughen it up, it cuts a lot easier that way
I'm trying this today. Great video but I have to ask..... Why did you mix it in the bowl just to pour in baggies? Why not put the meat and mixture straight into the baggies?
I have Ninja, but it doesn't have the dehydrator aspect of it. I do have a 5 rack regular dehydrator that I make mine on. Although texture wise I prefer mine tough and you almost will break a tooth on it if you are not careful. What you made looks good, to me it also looks like meat candy, not jerky.😉 Take care.🍺
Quick question, we are cooking it right now, but the ninja foodi at about 2 hours in started making a weird noise. it originally started sounding like a microwave im assuming normal, but then two hours in it would make a high pitch vibration sounding wrong, is that normal?
if you have the reversible racks that came with your foodi they can be used for dehydrating when stacked on to one another. I used mine to dehydrate pecans using parchment paper they came out just fine. I didn't want to have to buy the dehydrating racks.
I've been experimenting with my Foodi and found that dehydrating at 180 deg for 2 hours works better. The jerky is not as leathery.
I will try it, thanks for the tip

I instantly love this guy. Such a great presence, fun instruction to watch!
Awww Love you too LOL
I agree 👏
Now I've gotta try this. This Foodi is making a monster out of me!
I know I’m trying to cook everything in the foodi now

Nice! My foodi just came in today. I can't wait to try this.
So good and easy, enjoy!!
I made this tonight, omg it was amazing, can't wait to make more. I used carne asada meat, already thin sliced.
+Mary Ransier I bet that tasted amazing!!
Great video! Just purchased a Ninja Foodi, I am excited to try this out! Thanks for sharing!

Great video, straight to the point, great job!👌
Thank you thank you for not having the background music cranked up. So many other videos use the same music but have it turned up to 11.
We love Jerky! Always wonder why it is so expensive. Let us know when you start offering mail order for "Live From The Camper" Jerky products! 📮

Thank you Sir
You’re welcome! 😀
Great video 👍 straight to the point. I’m in the UK just want to check was your temp 150 Fahrenheit ?? Thanks

Just curious would you recomend making jerky without the rack? I just got mine and want to try this. Thanks for the recipe!
Yes you can lay the pieces over the trivet like you would do bacon, works just fine
@@TonysVarietyChannel will try that tomorrow! thanks!

Would marinate just as well in the bowl
As long as it’s air tight
Where did you get the racks for the foodi?
I'm trying this today. Great video but I have to ask..... Why did you mix it in the bowl just to pour in baggies? Why not put the meat and mixture straight into the baggies?
Habit I guess, lol
Do you know how long this will store for?
Great video, what size Ninja is this ?
8 qt

I like mine pretty dehydrated as well, you’re right it’s total meet candy
Is that 150 Fahrenheit or Celsius?
Fahrenheit
Quick question, we are cooking it right now, but the ninja foodi at about 2 hours in started making a weird noise.
it originally started sounding like a microwave im assuming normal, but then two hours in it would make a high pitch vibration sounding wrong, is that normal?
Yes mine tends to get a high pitch sound during the cooking process
Are these original racks from Ninja or are they different?
Greetings from Germany
Hello!! Yes those are original racks!!
Where do i get the dehydration racks?
From ninjakitchen.com

After all these years of spilling liquid when putting inside ziplock back, I finally learn the secret for it not to happen
Lol, I know right after I’ve learned this trick made my life so much easier
Now why didn't he just throw the cuts and marinade rite in the bags together?? 😢
I like to split it up. Better coverage.
150 C or F?
F
Why put it into bags and not just marinate it in a container
I’m lazy, it’s air tight and when I’m done I just throw the bag away.
The vegans gave you 2 dislikes🤭🤭 🤣
Guess I can’t please everyone LOL
Oh the days of 4 dollar meats😢
how long will this keep for before it goes bad?
I have no idea it only last 2 days top at our house.
