      We have watched Josh, he is really great. We love him because he is knowledgable and honest. He even admits that he is biased, as a salesperson always is. We love that we don't have that obligation for our viewers. Thanks for watching.

    Just make sure you pick up a couple tubes of Dicor and go over every seam of roof, around sky lights and AC unit, everywhere the roof meets something.
    My Rockwood had a one drop leak within the first month of ownership around skylight, I pulled in garage and cleaned all seams with mineral spirits and sealed up really good with dicor and never dripped again even in the heaviest downpour.
    Worth the effort, better than taking back to the dealer and going through the hassle.Everything else has been great, no issues. You keep roof sealed up and RV will last a long time and be worth more at resale or trade time.

      Good advice. You shouldn't need to do it when it's brand new but we all know that new or not there can still be issues and we are so glad you took care of yours early and have been able to enjoy your trailer trouble free since. Thanks for sharing and for watching

      "RV Roof Install", an independent repair facility in Georgia (see Utube channel), says Dicor is really a terrible product and breaks down in a few months and you have to put "more-on" (MORON). Check them out. Very informative.

      I’ve seen correctly applied Dicor last for years on RV roofs. The key to long RV life starts with a correctly sealed roof.

      Thanks for that. We try really hard to do as much research as we can find to share with folks so you can be informed to. Sometimes we ask salespeople questions to and they often don't have the answers. That is partly because there is so much information to learn on so many rvs that they can't know it all and they have manufacturers reps, who are the specialists, to refer to when needed. The good sales people admit when they don't have an answer and they figure it out by asking a rep to make sure the customer gets the best info possible. Other sales people have come right out and told us 'they don't need to know the answers because customers don't care about how an RV is built'. We laughed and told them how misinformed they were. That is why we keep working to share as much info as we can. We know that we don't know everything and we love when the reps give us their contact info so we can ask questions on our viewers behalf and sometimes on our own too. The point is the more informed a customer is the easier the purchase should go and the happier the customer will be after. Thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate your time.

    What is not clear to me are the Rockwood TT a 4 seasons camper???

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 роки тому

      Great question and our answer is that few RVs are actually 4 seasons. Many different manufacturers make different claims about being 4 season but don't actually define what that means. So here is our list of things that make an RV more ready to handle cold or hot weather. Enclosed underbellys with heating, may be ducted or heat pads on tanks, valves enclosed in the heated area too, thicker insulation therefore usually thicker walls and maybe some extra insulation features like reflective foil, and dual pane windows. It would be very rare to find all of these things therefore you will have to choose which ones actually matter most to you and you are willing to pay for. Also don't forget that some of these will add significant weight as well meaning you need a bigger tow vehicle or a smaller trailer. Hope that helps some. thanks for watching

    This was exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you for doing a thorough video on the frame construction. We got burnt on our first new camper with no support in the frameWhere the pull outs are. So sad the company could get away with selling us something like that.!!!And were getting ready to buy our next new camper.

      I’m sure you get to hear lots of stories like this but in 2011 we purchased a new Keystone cougar a 30 foot pull behind. There is an 8 foot section of flooring right in the kitchen with no supports just plywood for 8 foot. I will not make this mistake a second time. Thanks for all the hard work you do to try to inform buyers.

  • @mnnomad1870

    Thank you. That is so interesting. Sounds like one big vapor barrier in the floor. I had a water leak when I first got my Flagstaff Super Liite and I was so worried it was going to ruin the insulation in my floor because I could see water dripping on-the-ground coming straight down through from where the water filter is located, under my bathroom vanity sink.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  4 роки тому +1

      There is a vapour barrier there to block moisture from getting in from the outside but it is still possible that the wool batting insulation could have gotten wet when you had your leak but it is also possible that it dried out just fine so no need to panic but do know that the vapour barrier is on the outside of the wool batting. Hope that helps clarify. Thanks for watching.

      @@DoesSizeMatter After looking at your videos again it began to make more sense, enclosed underbelly and vapor barrier on the top. At first I was thinking a little bit and insulation with exposed. When I first noticed my leak it was just a slow drip coming from the exposed frame on the bottom and I traced it back to where there was a seam on the underbelly cover and directly above was the vanity in my bathroom where it is like piping central. I don't know how they make sense out of any of that but they had to have an opening for the pipes to get up to the faucet on the sink and water filter. I don't recall if the city water connection hooks directly to the water filter but there was a drip here, and a drip there, and a drip everywhere.

      Glad you liked it. The Flagstaff and the Rockwood are exactly the same. I know that seems weird and we don't know why manufacturers do it but they do. I wonder if the heated tanks include the freshwater tank and also if it offers protection from the tank all the way out the through the gate valves?

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому

      Good question. The heating on the tanks is to prevent freezing so it would include the freshwater tank and in this video you can see that the valves are not inside the underbelly. ua-cam.com/video/XVcByc4qv1g/v-deo.html Check it out. Thanks for watching.

    Good stuff. I believe by "darkon" you mean Dicor (company that makes RV sealants)

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  4 роки тому +2

      Actually, the Darco moisture barrier is the product used to provide a moisture barrier to the underside of the rv floor. Dicor is a different product and is used as a rubber roof sealant. They do sound very similar but are entirely different products. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for watching.

    I thought Rockwood/Flagstaff used B-A-L chassis. That's what the sticker says on mine and a selling point in that it's not a Lippert chassis.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому

      Did some checking to make sure there were not any changes that we were unaware of and it is accurate that the Rockwood/Flagstaff are being built on the Lippert chassis. The Geo-Pro is using the B-A-L. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
