@@kyle9401 D2 cannot be on console because it has single target spells. Diablo 3 is just so simple and trash that it can be on a console.

The chat gem was used to break up the chat spam so you could actually read some things without them all mashing together.

Reziarfg = Gfraizer backwards. Gfraizer used to be the guy who updated the Arreat Summit back in the day. Also known as Nebu. I think he went on to do some stuff with WoW and other Blizzard things but the Reziarfg thing was like an Easter egg on the website or an April Fool's joke.

Telling people you click the gem and press alt+F4 to open an in-chat trade menu was one of my favourite games.

It's still such a good game! I have been playing since 2002-2003 and I still play this game for a couple weeks at a time about twice a year! Timeless!
Diablo 2 is never finished. I've been playing since beta and I still haven't found one tenth of the possible gear and items. I have had everything godly in the game for every character at one point, but that was acquired through countless hours of trading. Also rushing people for jsp gold helped out a lot. Ah yes I remember doing brand new character rushes all the way to hell, then I would level then to 90 using the uber glitch.
I spent so many years playing this. Close to 10. Member of Temple (op templepvp) zeal clan on USWest. What an awesome way to grow up. Those were the days.

#11 raising skeletons from corpses of unique\champion\superunique monsters will make them stronger. I remember this being a thing when we were kids. I guess it was our rationale why some skeletons have shields or unique weapons, such as some having scythes instead of axes.

Also, I think there was a myth too, which is located in the very north of Chaos Sanctuary --- that there's a hidden location there. Some say that you'll need to teleport, requiring the Enigma runeword.
Some dude was telling me this ----like two years after the real of Diablo 2. No idea if that's real though. Can't verify it.

The chat gem always bugged me. I knew it did nothing, but i was always intrigued by it.
They was a myth about a -32dex bugged ring that would bring your dexterity to the negative therefore making you have the highest glitched amount of Dex. They was also something about a bugged wirt leg or something. Remember the days of bugged 4 socket .08 valor and occy rings xd!

There was a bugged eye of etlitch that did something similar with your vitality. Good ol’ days
I remember one myth, too, although I don't remember the original source for it: by combining the book of skill and the life potion from act III in horadric cube + some other item maybe. The result opens up a portal in act 1 at countess lair and gives u a book with +2 skills and some other good stuff :D I recall, too, that this recipe didn't work; it could have been some kind of April fool's prank in the early days of D2 in the local pc games magazine. Those were the days :D

2:57 reziarfg looks like a Zerg mutalisk, with it's parts just moved around and sizes altered. It's mouth is where it's face should be, it's wings are on the lower half rather than the upper half and are too small, etc.

I like to think they added things like the gem and the banner, or repairing before hellforge for superstition purposes. If you hit the gem then find an soj you will believe the gem gave you better odds. I like that diablo adds little quirks like that. Yea these aspects of the game may do nothing, but I'll repair my hellforge hammer everytime. Superstition should be added to all rpg games.
Perming duping etc:
1. Open trade window, both sides press accept on empty trade. Items are temporarily permed till next game :) You
2. Making runewords out of duped runes is safe and it won't disappear. You can also dupe so called "virgin bases" (meaning not used before) and they won't disappear.
Also you can permamently perm duped runes by upgrading them in cube :)
Blizzard dupe check thing is actualy very simple and it's not lenghty process by any means cause it's automated. Each item with certain quality has an id(e.g. runes hence they disappear). If you enter a game with you duped runes on IP 'x' and another person enters with dupes or the original ones a game on IP 'x'(doesn't have to be the same game) then dupes disappear(Same IP -> one server so it's possible to automaticaly check for id duplicates) I don't know actualy if original runes will disappear though. And the reason you can dupe virgin bases is they don't have an id as a white item. Only when you make runeword they gain id. Reseting it with Hel + tp scroll will not reset the id. Unique, rares, etc. get an id while dropped that's why you don't see people duping them. Well duping ultra rare jewels (same principle as runewords, you put them into an item so they won't disappear), sojs(obvious lol) and bugged nld items is a thing but I suppose not much more than that.
The standard of hereos was to be socketed into equipment on HC and allowed you to allow a friend to join your game and loot your body

There was also another myth regarding the cow level. They said if you used a socketed wirt's leg to open the portal and actually put gems or runes in it, it would make a cows stronger thus giving more xp or better loot.

It's amazing how some of these change, back in the day we knew there was no magic find cap, but there was a max that could be achieved, when they added more items that allowed it to go a lot higher it was "it's not worth going over 4-500 mf" and then somehow people started thinking that a cap was the reason.
I remember filling my inventory with 7% mf charms and tons of mf on my gear and my merc and letting my merc finish enemies and I never found a good item the whole time I played except a 20/20 pally torch lol.
@@benlong1256 I had that until i accidentally deleted it with panic misclick, bumped delete and it was the only game i had played where the cancel and ok buttons were reversed so when i snap clicked to cancel i hit ok.

Smite paladin is broken as hell
I see one smite paladin kill one ball runs 8 with 4 hits.
I don’t buy the 4 hit Baal kill.
Would need to use Stormlash to get 2-3 static field procs with simultaneous crushing blows then likely a weapon switch to Grief to get through the last bit of damage. Probably would have to use upped HoZ for the huge skill bonuses.
I always just respec’ed my hammerdin to a smiter for Uber runs, but I just don’t think a smiter does enough pure damage other than the mass amount that happens through crushing blow procs.
Maybe if there was a might merc with pride polearm so that the smiter has fana, smite, and concentration auras, but then the merc is probably getting in hits as well.
Lol I remember back maybe 10 years ago when I was first playing d2 when I was a teenager someone convincing me that I needed to repair the hellforge hammer before giving them my forge (in one of those old “rush 4 forge” games) and I have continued to repair the hammer hundreds of times over the years as I continue to play d2. I always considered it a superstition but it’s such a tradition at this point I’d feel off not doing it, like I was jinxing myself.
Don’t forget to fill up the tome of town portal before you open cows. You get more cows!!!!

Hi. Wanted to clarify about the gem in the chat.
It actually does have a purpose. Once perfect gem is activated, hit escape, youll stay logged into bnet but youll be in somewhat of a mod state which lets you reorder your characters in the 2x5 selection screen. This is its real function and its kind of helpful if your main wasnt initially in your first character slot and you just wanted to hit enter a bunch of times to get to chat :3 Hope this sheds some light on it.

Ive been playing since d1 and im honestly just speaking from experience. It doesnt take long to roll a perfect gem so try it out yourself. Its a nice little mechanic.

i played OG d2, nobody dueled in act 4...always has and always will be blood moor...and temp perming via trade screen works because trade screen creates a new version of that item and blizzard keeps the newer version upon exiting
On gamesranger years ago there was a guy who gave me a unidentified small charm and said dont identify it give it to other player later on he told me if u identify this small charm it will freeze ur game in any way possible and i tested this with 1 other player and it actually happened i still have that unid small charm in save file

Hey, the fire soso meteor, "stole" the exp from others, becurse of high dmg, the soso for all the kill bonus, like the hammerdin did later wher they fixed the Immunity og the mobe and the exp system... After the fix the only exp bug item Was "the elder staf" whit + 5% exp that u tog form the party

The meteor myth is so annoying, because years after you could easily read debunks online and disconnects didn't happen anymore I was still kicked out of countlesd Baalruns for using meteor.

WW has always been buggy. The best is when you get locked in a duel and have already taken lethal damage but keep chasing them until they make it to town
With a new character, get all the flail pieces in act 3 to make the flail. But don’t smash the orb with it. Mule it to a new char, then you have the best weapon for getting a new char from level 1-20.
Disagree on the best weapon...the low level pally mace with +dmg per level is easily the best starter weapon
Gidbinn and Hellforge Hammer are also good weapons. Or.. ya know.. run Tristam and you will never in your life spend more than 20 minutes as a low level?

Eh. I prefered diablo 1 (sorcerer player). The skill system suddenly locked players into fixed tactics for the playthrough. I prefered obsessive spellbook hunting.
Activating the perfect gem in the chat will spawn a perfect gem shrine in your game. Worked everytime for me.

@@hunlepto2239 If you want Andariel to have a greatly increased chace of dropping rares/uniques/sets every time you kill her, the procedure is as follows:
1. After you kill her *for the first time* in any difficulty, gather whatever loot you find interesting
2. Take the red portal back to The Rogue Encampment (do not open a portal yourself)
3. Talk to Warriv (and ONLY him) and go to Lut Gholein (you can skip the cinematics for act 2)
4. As soon as you are in Lut Gholein, save and exit the game
5. Start a new game and go back to Act 1 - Andy should now be bugged and drop lots of goodies.
I have a question i used to play d2 more than anything else long time ago, is the pvp completely dead? or would it still be worth to buy the game again and have fun and eventually pvp? m old key is far gone so i would have to start over.
I wouldnt buy d2 again for pvp. The hacking is bad. People can see your gear with mods, constant bots spamming you. Everyone just bots there is very little interaction. It is dead.

If you're looking for pvp I would suggest Path of Diablo, no cheaters there and they even organise pvp tournaments with rewards from time to time.

I would say you might need to check some facts there guy, it is not a temporary fix. It is actually proven to me once in game by an anonomous source that duped items can be permed by this. If you doubt it you can go kill nihl and name it essentially trying to give it another uid. As far as duped runes you just cube them up 1 grade.
