The Java Zon was just so damn OP lol. I would says the original Heroes from Diablo 1 had a much more tragic ending than the D2 Heroes though. The D2 Heroes faired much better over all.
The barbarian from the D3 could either be the titular from the D2 or the Barbarian hired companion from D2. Both saw the world stone and were there in the events. Since the devs are eager to deny the titular Barbarian from D2 of being the main barbarian of D3, it could easily be the hired barbarian, whom could have been affected, due to his nearby presence, by the destruction of the world stone, which awakened his Nephalem blood, yet made him wander the desolated wasteland without purpose, due to the trauma he endured.
Perfect!!! Or the Druid of Diablo 4 could be the apprentice of the Druid from Diablo 2? Or the Crusader's mentor was the Paladin who changed into a Crusader after the events of Diablo 2?
or maybe there was a young boy. because D3 is many years later. he trained to the bone and fight many strong opponents to the point the ancients catch there eyes on him and aid him when ever he needs them. but than the demons return and from fighting them his Nephalem blood awakened after he beaten Malthael. because facing Diablo was a tough enough battle because he's basically fighting a god. than faced Malthael right after fighting a tough enough battle and Malthael is much stronger because of 7 more powers within him. but to that point that all high orders fear him now. because it seems that he become more then a nephalem maybe he's now a next god...well at lest that's what it feels like that's what they building up to for D4. a god that you are not sure would ether take a side or destroy both angels and demons to end it all.

This sort of raises some questions from me. If the Order the Assassin is a part of is trained to fight without magic, then where do some of her skills and powers come from? Does the concept of “ki” or other non-magic inner energy exist in Diablo lore? Is it like how the Monk’s powers function in Diablo 3? Or where they trained to fight without magic, but can still use it? Edit: I just remembered that Assassin has skills involving psychic powers. These games are wild.

The Barbarrian thing was actually changed before Diablo 3 even launched, which is a huge shame to be honest. The expansion really only just confirmed in game the boring decision the devs had already made

So , Spoilers ahead : Only the Sorceress had the short end of the stick basically ? While Necro, and Amazon had the most prestigeous lives afterwards. Also the D3 Barbarian being the same as D2 ?! Damn the Barb's are so badass! I like the therory of Natalya (assassin) becoming a Demon Hunter, would make perfect sense indeed due to the D3 DH set after her name.
Well, thanks to D4 now we know what happened to the Paladin, his name is Carthas and he buried the corpse of Sankekur and built a Masoleum for him, sadly he succumbed to Mephisto's influence and died
If they chose to make the Barbarian character the same from D2 to D3, then the scene where Deckard Cain dies would've had more of an impact for everyone than it already had. I personally subscribe to that headcanon just for that and the fact that he's able to command the Ancients.
Ancients: we well aid you whenever you need us. D3 Young Barbarian: but what about your duty? Ancients: the worldstone is now gone forever. we well now aid those that are worthy. maybe that's the reason why we can summon them in D3.

@Indiot Endiot in my mind the Necromancer and Paladin are about equal.
They represent two polar opposites, yet they fight for the same cause.
Truly a testament to Humanity's capability to unite in the face of annihilation.
Didn't they hinted, that Tyriel is a paladin/crusader in D3 lore?
@@iamyitanli ????
I've always wanted to know the fate of D1 and D2 characters but times were hard especially living in a 3rd world country but still I find comfort learning it from this channel. Kudos to your work, man!
Well, in case you did not know, the 3 heroes from D1 are mini-bosses/bosses in D2:
Rogue became the mini boss Bloodraven of the Rogue Encampment area.
The Sorcerer is the mini-boss "The Summoner" in the Arcane Sanctuary area, and the Warrior is Diablo.
I would love to see an awesome remaster of the first Diablo.
Blizzard would find a way not only to uglify the playable characters, but even Diablo.
@natma relnam the resolution may be low, but remastering that art style with the current iteration of Blizzard would probably result in the comic book art style being lost to 3D realism. What that game really needs is a revamp of the physics.
@@Zealant Pfft, get off it. Silly excuse, Natma is right. Diablo 1 and 2 look atrocious by modern standards.
@@TrippyTheShroomYou can see a lot of good details even with limited pixels. And there are still lots of good pixel sprites that look good by modern standards, Diablo I and II among them
D3 had at least the event Darkening of Tristram.
Super cool that you have all the fates condensed into one video! It's nice that you are showing the end of all these heroes just, while I am working on videos to show how they ended up at the Rogue encampment in the first place. Great job with the video as usual! For the record the I totally think the Assassin killed the Sorceress!
Would you ever consider doing a lore break down of the Diablo books? They all have some great stories even if not all of them are canon.
At first sight, except the sorceress, their worst fate was their faces redesigns, and with lots of censorship in their clothes.
The clothing change is meh. The face changes is gross.
very weird how they the devs did such change to respect females only to come out as horrid predators.
@@brunoayala5925 they made my girls ugly for no reason :(
Doesn't really matter what their faces look like anyways since you're always playing at Bird's-eye view 🤷♂️
@@karabartley They look....ok.
While i love the fates of the characters and how most of them didn't really meet "tragic" ends, you think they would explain what happend to the Paladin especally since he was one of the most popular classes to play *Cough, Hammerdin, cough*
There is no way he "just" died to Malthael after wrestling with the likes of Mephisto, Diablo and Baal.
Well, maybe his fate was recorded before LoD and 1.14 patch, when BH was considered a crappy skill
He is corrupted by Maphisto and become ghost to be killed in D4.
I seriously doubt that a powerful experienced sorceress could possibly "lose control" of a spell, after grappling with those three either. Get serious, Blizz!
The story of D1 and 2 deserves an animated adaptation
I really liked the druid and how diverse you could play it. It really felt like almost three classes in one.
Their fate was written by same person who created fairy that killed Cain. So no wonder their all were screwd.
I have never been so angry in my life. I went on an entire rant when this happened the first time. My buddy was laughing his ass off cause he played through it plenty before I got to it.
I don’t think Magda was a fairy 😂
So wait, in d2 you play as Natalya even though you can meet her in act 3 while playing as the assassin?
It's just mumbo - jumbo from people that killed of Cain by hand of freaking fairy.
@@piotrkarp9562 When that happened on my first play through of D3, I turned off the game and only returned to it later when playing with friends and largely ignoring the story after that.
@@osobaum For me that was when I first time saw Leoric. He looks like character from Dragon Ball Z. D3 is just H&S version of Warcraft.
Just think of it like assassins playing with other assassins… Natalyas everywhere
She was a hint before the Lord of Destruction was added.
Glad you feel the same about the Barbarian. I always felt they were the same as well
This has become my most favorite channel! I love the dedication put into the material, nothing like it on yourube.
Not all that tragic in my opinion, considering the universe it's set in and most other fates of those who fight the darkness, especially the original cast.
Seems like Cassia the Zon, and Xul the Necro had the best fates through and after the events of Diablo 2 . Always felt like the Zon was sort of like the unsaid leader of the team of Heroes in D2.
@@LagunaShirogane Every possibilities are on the table until confirmation from the Devs. :)
or maybe there was a young boy. because D3 is many years later. he trained to the bone and fight many strong opponents to the point the ancients catch there eyes on him and aid him when ever he needs them. but than the demons return and from fighting them his Nephalem blood awakened after he beaten Malthael. because facing Diablo was a tough enough battle because he's basically fighting a god. than faced Malthael right after fighting a tough enough battle and Malthael is much stronger because of 7 more powers within him. but to that point that all high orders fear him now. because it seems that he become more then a nephalem maybe he's now a next god...well at lest that's what it feels like that's what they building up to for D4. a god that you are not sure would ether take a side or destroy both angels and demons to end it all.
@@rickydiscord7671 D3 is like 20 years later. And barb in D3 looks hella old. He must have been a grown man when D2 happened.

I love that Heroes of the Storm was used to give character and backstory to these characters. RIP
10:12 ahhhh.. the demo where good old Jay Wilson made us believe that D3 was a much better game than it actually turned out to be.
Jay Wilson was the start of the downfall of Blizzard. Was the main decision maker on the worse Diablo, which got better when he got put to WoW and was the main dude for the worse expansions for WoW until he left.
@@killer008r yep. he basically came in like a wrecking ball. He was a pariah amongst the gaming community until he "stepped down". D3 at launch was like having someone shit in your mouth while you're sleeping and then taping your mouth shut while it's still warm.
Luckily they made it decent since then tho.... As decent as can be.
@@killer008r meh, it's devolved into endlessly running rifts over and over though. lame

YAAAAY!!! Great catch up. I miss those days of playing D2 21 years ago. Many thanks!
It’d be sick if Diablo IV had an expansion that brought back the Paladin class. Maybe as a descendant or follower of the Diablo II Paladin.
Omg! I didn't know that the necromancer was a Canadian psychology professor!
I'm like, damn, my man Peterson is ripped AF. 😂 12 rules of Life After Death is my fav psychological self-help guide.
Necro to diablo: clean your room, rise above your own wretched and miserable self and establish some dominance in your own existence. I mean, good grief man!
**summons lobster hoard and one shots him**
So only the the sorceress Isendra truly had a tragic end then, getting assassinated by a mage slayer after a spell gone wrong. The assassin Natalya became a demon hunter, the Necromancer Xul became the head of a Necromatic order, the Amazon Cassia became a war matron, the Barbarian lived to become the same male Barbarian hero in Diablo III, while the Paladin and Druid's fate was never told.
Now that it's revealed that Rathma (the 1st Nephalim and 1st necromancer) plays a big role in D4, I worry about Zul.
Edit: Scrap that, it's been 70 years between d2 - d4. He probably died of old age.
@@dsan17 Eh you never know, I don't see any reason why they cant make make it so he has some immortality magic or some shit

I'd stick with aged Amazon over Saturday morning kids show Amazon xD

This sort of raises some questions from me. If the Order the Assassin is a part of is trained to fight without magic, then where do some of her skills and powers come from? Does the concept of “ki” or other non-magic inner energy exist in Diablo lore? Is it like how the Monk’s powers function in Diablo 3? Or where they trained to fight without magic, but can still use it?
Edit: I just remembered that Assassin has skills involving psychic powers. These games are wild.
Ok now i am more pissed ! Why did not the developers copied the Amazon design in Heroes of the Storm! WTF Blizzard!
The young Amazon Cassia? lol, so in D2R, we're playing her grandma?
I remember watching the same video at 10:20, back in 2007 my freshman year of college. I had been waiting for new on Diablo 3 for years and man it takes me back just hearing the narration during the barbarian game play showcase. God that was 15 years ago now. Man I can't believe it's been that long an I can still remember where I was and how I felt all those years ago watching the D3 trailer. Getting some serious nostalgic feelings for an age gone by.
4:36 did they ruin assassin stance also? Checked original now it's look ridiculous why don't they change it?
Shame about the Sorceress.
There's no guarantee it seems that it was Natalya, but it was definitely an Assassin according to what you are saying.
the sad thing is how much of the lore is actually changed by the DLC. The barbarian was the barbarian from D2 up until the DLc thats when they retconed it also nothing from imortal is actually cannon
The Barbarrian thing was actually changed before Diablo 3 even launched, which is a huge shame to be honest.
The expansion really only just confirmed in game the boring decision the devs had already made
yo i cant believe im saying this as a necro main... the druids have a way better backstory... im changing mains
No way! Rathma, the dragon of life and dearh, is one of the coolest characters of the franchise imo, and his followers, the necros, are the keepers of balance in Sanctuary! And it's balance, not necessarily pure good, which means they might kill ya if you're disturbing that balance, which makes them grumpy antiheroes, which is awesome!

Diablo 1 Remastered
I want a d1 remastered so bad
It’s on gog but yeah
Fun fact: Bill Murray called the Necromancer Daina and even dated him for a while.
What happened to the townsfolk? I remember seeing Warriv's body somewhere in Act 1 in Diablo 3. I also remember meeting Zayl (a character from Richard Knack's books, I'm sure that was an Easter egg) in Reaper of Souls after fighting Adria.
Warriv died? LMFAO! Good.
The Necromancer is a really good guy, he is just misunderstood.
I love these lore videos and deep dives. Keep up the great work!
I remember the diablo 3 pre launch stories! A shame D3 didn't live up to the hype QQ
i think the d3 lore / stories are really drab.
Wait for D4 that is gona be clown fiesta
Well, essentially, since the Barbarian is the canonical leader of the heroes in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, The Barbarian kills Diablo and with his full Nephilim powers becomes Bul Kathos Reborn
Canon according to what?
I recently found your channel I really am enjoying the Diablo videos. I grew up on Diablo.
Guys help, i barely started playing diabo 2 resurrected a week ago and now im obsessed with the entire series and storyline
They should have kept the D3 Barbarian as the older D2 Barbarian. It is a cool idea that he is still badass as an old man.
After retiring from strongmen, Mariusz Pudzianowski decided to become a barbarian
So , Spoilers ahead :
Only the Sorceress had the short end of the stick basically ? While Necro, and Amazon had the most prestigeous lives afterwards.
Also the D3 Barbarian being the same as D2 ?! Damn the Barb's are so badass!
I like the therory of Natalya (assassin) becoming a Demon Hunter, would make perfect sense indeed due to the D3 DH set after her name.
Witch Doc's have a set named after a necromancer set. so... does that mean Xul turned into a WD?
@@killer008r lol did you watch the vid? Xul had one of the best endings...

I am today years old when i found out that the three characters from D1 are Andariel amd That Sorcerer guy.
This is awesome. I remember watching your video on the D1 characters. I didn't even know the D2 characters were involved in d3
The bit where the barbarian interrupts Cain during his infamous "stay a while, and listen" grade A prime real estate. Hilarious
The actual video begins at 2:00
Thanks for the video! Definitely cool to see what happened to the heroes I spent so much time playing as.. Even if some of their fates are.. less than ideal. :P
I never payed attention to the story when I played this as a teenager. What a cool story.
Thanks for putting this info together.
Video is very pleasant and easy to watch.
I really wish that they would make a movie about Diablo 2.
I always believed that the Grand Maester of the templar order from Diablo III was the paladin from D2.
Holy shit. I knew about the warrior, but never made the connection with the sorcerer and rogue. Mind blown not even 2 minutes in.
I Loved Playing the Druid Glad they bringing it back!
Was just trying to explain this for a friend. Thanks for the video !
When was it ever stated that the PC assassin was Natalya? Them admitting Natalya was a teaser for the class is not the same as them saying they are the same character, and that's the post that was shown.
4:52 she said she's traveling to the Barbarians lands (Act V), which she officially becomes part of the roster. Before the LoD expansion pack, she was a NPC. LoD let's you play as her from the beginning which gets trippy like at 4:17 where she's technically standing next to herself.
i greatly enjoyed the video.
What a great video!
This is something that Diablo 3 should've touched upon.
Well, only Isendra the Sorceress is comfirmed dead and she passing the torch to Li Ming the Wizard.
Excelent take. Well Done
I think if the right directors picked it up, the story of Diablo could make a decent movie in 2021.
So at least now you can add the D2 paladins resting place in Hawazar. His name was Marshal Carthas.
Immortal gives us a lot of insight actually.
I don't think the Paladin died. Homeboy stood up and went toe to toe with andarial, durial, mephisto, diablo and baal. If Malthael killed 9/10 of the paladins or crusaders, ill be willing to bet that hes the grand inquisitee of a paladin order
My boi, still loving your content. I'm starting to miss your daggerfell videos bud.
The untold fate is that theyre all gonna be: "This character is already in a game" and unavaliable for play for the next 15 hours.
Totally worth the remaster
I thought it was assumed that most of them died in the explosion when the mountain blew up at the end of act 5. The sorceress can teleport herself out and the necromancer can resurrect himself so they survived and made an appearance in Diablo 3.
Where do you get the drawn animations? Might sound stupid but is there a movie i havent seen? As i love the lore I need to know!
somehow I can't take seriously anything that should be "lore" after D2 :)
