Yeah agreed - Summon necs FTW. Corpse Explosion and revives easily makes up for damage. YOu can also waste melee chars in pvp with iron maiden curse. You can also do insanee shit like making a metal golem out of runewords for extra auras. You just gotta be careful you don't let your golem die / accidentally summon a different golem LOL
Some other builds which would make it into my top 10: - Summoner Necro with mega giant Skele Army, superfun to telebomb 40+ minions on a mob or boss. :) - (lightning / CE) Trapsin: great for quickly clearing open areas such as Cows I think a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with the Paladin, since it is the most overpowered class. As if being able to quickly kill almost any monster in the game isn't enough, it has super high survivability as well. When a character can solo 8 player Baal runs and doesn't need any other characters, you know something is wrong... With respect to gear: most characters benefit from having a Call to Arms (with Spirit for the skill boost) on switch. :)
I primaried a skellimancer for years. Best all around build IMO. You can stack some MF, rush other players very safely, lower res for all the javazons, trapsins and sorcs in party or amp damage if you are rolling with barbs/zealers, decrep + clay golem to slow bosses to a crawl or iron golem for some crushing blow. Revive Urdars and life tap for ubers, the list goes on and on...
I missed the Summoner Necromancer... I mean, it can do ANYTHING, from clearing all bosses, to killing ubers, and it doesn't even need to attack (only teleport and use some curses). It's also the safest character to use in hardcore mode. Regards.
I go Last Wish and Exile both on my zealer when doing ubers. Mainly because Hit Blinds Target interrupts your Life Tap so you need it to go often if using Last Wish.
I remember Hammerdin being so broken because he has no problems with immunes. If an enemy monster is magic immune but undead, it can still get damaged by blessed hammer. There are hardly any monster that are both magic immune AND not undead.
For Top 5 specifically I can't argue with any of those choices, if you had to choose a 6th and 7th what would you go for? Ele Druid/Trapsin/Light or Fire Sorc/Bonemancer? 6th and 7th are a bit more difficult to choose imo, what you think @DB?
I've never played Diablo 2. I somehow went from Diablo 1 to Diablo 3. I was hoping to get some ideas, but most of this info flew over my head. Sounds like the blizzard sorceress is the way to start farming. Is that correct?
Smiter most basic item is GRIEF runeword (Eth + Tir + Lo + Mal + Ral) in Phase blade(1 range, more Attack Speed PVE), or Berserker axe(2 range, Slower PVP), second, he need Gore Rider in boots, and mostly ENIGMA in Mage or Archon plate for preventing to put any point in STR instead of Vitality (In PVP you can use STONE runeword in etheral Sacred Armor). He needs Crown of Ages with BER rune and Verdungo 15% to have a maximum 50% damage reduced.
what realm are you on, and how in tristram is diablo clone countdown happening so often in this video in 2020? i played 2 ladders in the last 1.5 years and have seen SOJ sold to merchants 2 times in game on US WEST
I have all these builds on sp PlugY, Blizz sorc and Javazon are my favorites, Pitzerker is kinda fun, and my Smiter is currently respeced to Hammerdin, which I still need to get the hang on! Great video Db, and thanks for the inspiration!
Pvp meta builds not in any order Paladin - smiter or hdin or templar (smite/fist of heavens) Necro - bone spear/bone spirit Druid - nado Sorc - blizzard or fireball sorc Barb - whirlwind Assassin - lightning trapsin Amazon - hybrid guided arrow/java
Well the meta hasn't changed since 1.10 too much. I rly liked pre 1.10 builds more bow amazon ftw! and no enigma was coolest time to play Diablo 2 on battlenet.
The best smiter item is the armor (forget the name)(guardian angel?) that boosts your max resists and max block to 90%. That is OP as hell, especially in hardcore. Back in the day it was cheap too, that and guilluimes and you were set for a budget smiter. I just took a 4 socket paladin shield and put 4 perfect diamonds in it, lol. Super budget. That was important because the torches sold for a lot more early in the leagues on sites like d2jsp. You could get 30 times the normal price early in the league. The other trick is you wear the runeword that procs fade and stand in the fire until it procs and then wear your normal armor :) It lasts for quite a while. There is a convenient fire in the SE corner of Ubers out of aggro range. One season i sold the first 3 torches on USWest hardcore and the first Id'd sorc torch. It's not really inconvenient either because it's awesome Merc armor. My merc would live through Ubers :)
For current D2 or D2 Resurrected because those are very different. There isn't a great summoner build for Necro sadly but if you are only interested in playing the game and not necessarily having an easy time you can make one. Look at the synergies and pick abilities that go together. You need Mages to deal with physical immunes but otherwise you need to decide if you want to play a skeleton summoner build, a revive summoner build, or a golem summoner build. No matter which build you take you will likely need to put points into your curses to get decrepify (1 point is good enough). I personally feel the best summoner build is a skeleton + bone spear build. With +skill items and charms you often don't need much more than a few points into bone spear to kill your first enemy and get started with your army.
0 seconds. You can start playing solo from level 1. Oh you mean farming on hell? Well it's more of a question of surviability, and if it's solo, you can set the number of players, from 1 to 8, meaning it's much harder but more exp and more items drop. I Think maybe 3 is optimal. Whether or not you can survive is a yes or no question, but for damage, you always got room for more. The question is if you can trade items and how rich can you get depending on your methods. It can take you a few weeks to get some decent gear, maybe months... it can be REALLY hard to play solo without trading. Hard to get the item drops that you need. And you get a lot of valuable stuff that you just don't use on your character. Diablo 3 is much easier on that, you can use most items on most characters. Diablo 2 is more specific class only items. Plus in diablo 3 there's a HUGE tendency to have items drop only for your class whereas in diablo 2 ANY item for ANY class can drop.
A summoner necro wearing enigma crushes all content. Not that I have played this game in the last 10+ years but that was my go to. Also lightning trap assassin wearing enigma. I only ever used a javazon to farm cows. Again this was from well over a decade ago. Strange to see people still playing and still putting out build content for D2. I would imagine every possible build has already been done 100 times over.
I miss the glory days of PKing where runewords didnt exist yet. Every class had a counter. Only sorcs could tele unless someone had a charged item. Necros could bone trap melees and iron maiden them to death. zons sniped people. assassins could trap casters. Druids would fissure spam from town. Man it was fun! Shaftstop and vampgaze were god tier. Some great times
I played D2 religiously for years, but honestly haven't tried one minute of the LOD expansion. A few buddies and I stuck to classic, and absolutely wrecked at pvp. We had separate characters to counter every meta build. I think that's what made the PvP so fun, you couldn't really make a one trick Pony character and expect to win.
I was always doing ubers with 2 chars. Open with barb IK equipped whirlwind build for Duriel and the lava one - good because i can jump around. After this i switch to pala zealer/smiter to kill Lil and ubers. No enigma on my smiter and no need tbh. (got separate char for hammerdin). Works great. I use salvation for Mephisto and its enough to kill him fast. No need for special gear.
If I were you, I'd make videos like this a lot more in depth build guides. There's a lot of people that'll play D3 that haven't played in MANY years and dont know the acronyms and level req stuff like you mention, and they're also not going to necessarily go searching for old videos they want to see something new
@The SN The mobile game isnt a sequel. It takes place between D2 and D3 and is a genre jump. Plus they're actually making D4. Do you even have a phone?
I did beat the Ubers with my Javazon, her charged strike always hits for every important purpose, my Valk tanked Meph, yep, she must have rolled immune to lightning, I did try to farm for that, and I had full resists and Tgods, and Wisp, so his Lightning was healing me. He did take longer than a smiter, but what took less time? Well, I didn't have a grief or exile, 40 CB and my Merc had 20, but killing all the other enemies on the way to farm the Organs and Nith and Arcane Sanctuary and such. She was really, really good at all that.
starter sorc is defenitely blizz, but you'd ideally want to transition into lightning when you get infinity. You probably will not be soloing everything from the getgo, but as you get you BiS gear pieces, you'll do it faster and faster. the cons of blizzard sorc: -monsters need to wander in the blizzard to effectively get hit by it -no countess runs for low to mid runes you want -no cs runs due to the ranged idiots running away from your merc all the time -no eld/shenk for early hell a5 xp+mf -no nhilatak -no pindle blizz is nice for andy, meph, AT and cows and then her usability starts to drop off of the cliff. Lightning sorc is more well rounded in areas/bosses etc. but takes longer to become effective.
Hi! Are you playing on official blizzard servers? What can you say about drop rate of runes or smth? How much runs do you need for farm zakarum for example?
Nice video. Came back to diablo after 10 years. I'm running a hammerdin now and I'm having such a hard time with the snakes on Nithilak. Any way to avoid the multiple hits from them? I don't have max block but I'm not sure if that will even help with those missiles.
Physical Damage Reduction solves the snakes in Nihala's temple. (note, not DR% e.g stormshield). But things like Nature's Peace (7 - 11 Physical Damage Reduction). If you can get ~60 PHysical damage reduction you are essentially immune to the snake damage
Hey buddy, have you actually collected all the sets on your plugy. While I am playing on d2 again I have made it one of my missions to collect all the sets. And is there any of the sets that you would say is a good set to use instead of runewords?
I've got a 96 hdin pally, a 93 frenzy Uber barb, a 92 blizz/frozen orb sorc and a 89 elemental druid on us.east. Took a little break to play Diablo 3.. I wouldn't say more challenging then Diablo 3. There actually both decent games. I haven't played d3 since season 3 and just started again a couple days ago season 21... Crazy all the changes . I wish they didn't get rid of the auction house on d3. I remember I used get board of playing and get addicted again buying/selling things in the auction house.
Diablo 2 is d3 for adults is what i always say. D3 will hold your hand, give you freedom of choice, and basically let you make any build you want viable. There is no real "expensive item" and pretty much any piece of gear can be obtained in a day or 2 of grinding. Also d3 lets you respec your character any time. D2 is none of these things. Some gear can take months to acquire, game knowledge is much more expansive. Stat choices can permanently destroy your character with only 3 respec per toon. Immune monsters in hell WILL punish any careless build. If you don't know what you're doing chances are you may not even finish hell mode. It's brutal which makes success 100x more rewarding.
I wonder what your top 10 would be. Probably something like: 10. WW Barb 9. Trapsin 8. Windy dru 7. Light sorc 6. Summon necro at least that's what I would assume. Summon necro would honestly be higher imo if it weren't for tele, since they can run anything pretty easily, even ubers with trash gear. Just the fact they're so reliant on tele for positioning summons it kinda kills it for a lot of people. Plus it's pretty damn slow starting out
It's also great at doing chaos/baal walks with full clears (river, sanctuary, worldstone levels, throne) since all lvl85 areas. Just ditch the enigma for coh or fort to tank better. I use coh but some prefer fort, just compare against your other gear to see which fits better. That is if you can live without tele
it is arguably the 2nd best spec behind hammer. hammerdin has magic damage, so it really doesn't have any to worry about enemy resistances, however once you put an "infinity" on your merc, most light-immune monsters resistance is broken so the light sorc can farm anywhere in the game. Sorcs can get the fastest cast frames, and with static field can kill bosses faster than hdins. The things holding them back are the requirement for Infinity, needing gear like Grifs and facets in order to get their damage to the right level, and their relatively low health pool. I farmed my gear on a bliz for meph then swapped to light for endgame, having the low fcr frames means you can farm LK real easy and build the runes to make Enigma and Infinity. Sorc is by far the best choice for an early ladder character and will have the shortest path to being able to build Enigma and enable all the other builds shown.
Man, without glitches and bots, I wonder how rare runewords will be. I hope we can go back to the days of annhi runs. I was hoping you'd mention more pvp oriented builds like the charge desynch hammerdin, the BvC or the es fireball sorc :3
Yea he didnt touch on shit. Any pvp build sorc wrecks the game as well. So for him to skip Alll the major builds and pretend he showed anything was a travesty to the game... If you ever had everyone standing on the bridge wishing they could het their Bodys back, LOL, than this video should make you sick to see lmfao. Frrr
This is for the scope of single player magic finding. On bnet you will not see a zerker barb like you've shown, I'd swap that build with light trap sin on bnet since they are a lot more common.
@@llVIU it's more versatile then the pit zerker which is a lot more specific. My point was that he didn't take a lot of scenarios into account. Only the one he knows.
Is diablo 2 still active? I'm curious if some people started playing again during the pandemic. One of my favourite games growing up. Thinking about redownloading it
it's quite active. they started doing Ladder re-sets a number of years ago so now, every 6 months there is a new ladder re-set. imo it refreshes the gameplay and doesn't flood the market with elite gear until a few months in. these ladder re-sets are almost like "seasons" in other games similar. the next ladder re-set is scheduled for sometime in June, as the last one was Dec. 6th

Some other builds which would make it into my top 10:
- Summoner Necro with mega giant Skele Army, superfun to telebomb 40+ minions on a mob or boss. :)
- (lightning / CE) Trapsin: great for quickly clearing open areas such as Cows
I think a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with the Paladin, since it is the most overpowered class.
My favorite build when I was a kid was hammerdin. Funny to see it listed, had no idea it was that good.
It's an absolute iconic build of this game
I have played D2 since it's launch and as much as I'd love to make those builds, I have never had my hands on half of that gear...
I missed the Summoner Necromancer... I mean, it can do ANYTHING, from clearing all bosses, to killing ubers, and it doesn't even need to attack (only teleport and use some curses). It's also the safest character to use in hardcore mode.
Regards.
Love these vids dbrunski always so informative. Right when I thought I knew everything about d2
Glad you like them!
I go Last Wish and Exile both on my zealer when doing ubers. Mainly because Hit Blinds Target interrupts your Life Tap so you need it to go often if using Last Wish.
gear ''choice'' in diablo 2 builds, Enigma, spirit and hoto
I remember Hammerdin being so broken because he has no problems with immunes. If an enemy monster is magic immune but undead, it can still get damaged by blessed hammer. There are hardly any monster that are both magic immune AND not undead.
i thought immunities were random.
growing out his stay at home beard
For Top 5 specifically I can't argue with any of those choices, if you had to choose a 6th and 7th what would you go for? Ele Druid/Trapsin/Light or Fire Sorc/Bonemancer?
6th and 7th are a bit more difficult to choose imo, what you think @DB?
Summoner is superior to bonemancer for pvm hmu when a bonemancer can kill ubers
@@aaronaustin9814 no joke etown is a nut
Can't wait to play a Javazon in D2R !! It will be amazing to kill cows in 4K haha
I've never played Diablo 2. I somehow went from Diablo 1 to Diablo 3. I was hoping to get some ideas, but most of this info flew over my head. Sounds like the blizzard sorceress is the way to start farming. Is that correct?
Correct! You get teleport , which makes it a lot easier plus you can moat trick meph and farm AT for gear
Glad to see younger ppl on this game. I spent 15 yrs on it.
Us west sccl/hccl all the way!
what realm are you on, and how in tristram is diablo clone countdown happening so often in this video in 2020? i played 2 ladders in the last 1.5 years and have seen SOJ sold to merchants 2 times in game on US WEST
I have all these builds on sp PlugY, Blizz sorc and Javazon are my favorites, Pitzerker is kinda fun, and my Smiter is currently respeced to Hammerdin, which I still need to get the hang on! Great video Db, and thanks for the inspiration!
Pitzerker was always my favorite
Pvp meta builds not in any order
Paladin - smiter or hdin or templar (smite/fist of heavens)
Necro - bone spear/bone spirit
Druid - nado
Sorc - blizzard or fireball sorc
Barb - whirlwind
Assassin - lightning trapsin
Amazon - hybrid guided arrow/java
Well the meta hasn't changed since 1.10 too much. I rly liked pre 1.10 builds more bow amazon ftw! and no enigma was coolest time to play Diablo 2 on battlenet.
Yep. Bowzon, Titan Barb, *Orb* sorc (thanks to the nerfed blizzard cast)...
And the .08 server lag 😂
Nice. Im using the 2nd, 4th, and 5th build rn. Balance between damage and mf are grandeur
This guy is Steven WonderBoy Tompson, if he never did karate

is that the background from the arcane sanctuary behind dbrunksi? cool stuff
when you say marrowalk boots in 3:42 youtube captions shows "whether you achieving that through charges like on a life tap wand or marijuana"
LOL
I totally forgot Marrow has life tap charges.

JEL SE IGRA D2 RESURRECTED OCE LI NAPOKON OZIVIT HRV-1
You mentioned the minimum cold res you can reduce monsters to is -100. Is there a cap for minimizing cold res in pvp?
My merc would live through Ubers :)
whats a good alternate weapoin other than grief? Like just starting we wont get that lmao
Malice any good in a phase bladE?
No infinity merc'd-light sorc?
Have no idea what this guy is talking about but I'm stoked for D2:R
having issues finding a viable summoner build for necromancers endgame, should i just give up the dream or do any of ya'all have any tips?
What is the teleport thing they keep spamming and how is that fun gameplay?
Mosers shield is and always will be my fav shield for a Javazon. Paired with enigma.
12:16 why is the chains of honor ethereal?
wonder how long it takes to get items you need playing solo?
Is the full tal rasha sorc still good for cold hybrid or light I want to use that set for my first character
Some great times
when there were cow channels
There's a lot of people that'll play D3 that haven't played in MANY years and dont know the acronyms and level req stuff like you mention, and they're also not going to necessarily go searching for old videos they want to see something new
hey man, great vids. just curious how you know mephisto's cold res is 75? What's the source of your info? thanks.
classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/monsters/act3-mephisto.shtml
Arreat Summit will tell you basically everything you need to know
I need a key for all these shortened names you're giving abilities and items
blizzard should open a school, and hire Dbrunski as a Diablo teacher.
You probably will not be soloing everything from the getgo, but as you get you BiS gear pieces, you'll do it faster and faster.
the cons of blizzard sorc:
-monsters need to wander in the blizzard to effectively get hit by it
-no countess runs for low to mid runes you want
-no cs runs due to the ranged idiots running away from your merc all the time
-no eld/shenk for early hell a5 xp+mf
-no nhilatak
-no pindle
blizz is nice for andy, meph, AT and cows and then her usability starts to drop off of the cliff.
I am only missing the 2 cow king pieces. When I feel like going back to farm normal cows for those 2 pieces I will :D
What is the best build to play co op with a druid?
I just got into diablo 3 and god damn this series is like gamer crack
Diablo 3 is trash. D2 is better. And the dueling is amazing
@@brycedaugherty9211 ahh I miss people calling their characters toons lol
I wonder what your top 10 would be. Probably something like:
10. WW Barb
9. Trapsin
8. Windy dru
7. Light sorc
6. Summon necro
at least that's what I would assume. Summon necro would honestly be higher imo if it weren't for tele, since they can run anything pretty easily, even ubers with trash gear. Just the fact they're so reliant on tele for positioning summons it kinda kills it for a lot of people. Plus it's pretty damn slow starting out
is grief it's the name of a lightsaber weapon? I was playing that but it's so far I can't remember perfectly?
Dbrunski is the best D2 contentmaker. You really feel the game.
Im currently nightmare lvl 35 sorc. Planning to go blizzard build. Can you tell me the stats and skill build?thanks
can you convert this information 1:! to diablo 2 resurected ?
So which one should one go for , for most fun
wait a minute..... All this time, all these years, I thought it was the "Jabbazon" cus she "jabs" you with javs.
jesus.... my entire life is a lie.
Haha you just made my day
Lolllll
not the brightest kid huh xD
Many thought it was jab. I did so for years
Where I can find a good lightning sorc build and a Druid wind build
I'm sorry but no chain lightning sorceress or poison Nova necro?
Frost Orb Sorc is a viable option? I know it was nerfed after LoD
Great video. I usually have all them built. I have not done javeazon.
I played diablo 2 when i was 9 years old and i just put stats and level up skills on what feels good at the moment 😂
me too, and i had way more fun than optimizing the fun out of the game for higher success rates, AKA: using metas nowadays in games.
watched remasterd video, instantly reinstalled d2 now 91 hd only needing maras for my gear ... yep im on the d2 crack again
Go straight damage on the JavaZon and farm mobs for HRs and white gear for runewords
Russ F I do this. Usually farm cows with her. So many good runeword bases
Do you play with 1.13c plugy in window mode?
I feel like i missed out back when i played sorc because i only ever played the lightning sorc, i thought it was the best. is it really bad?
Not as strong in pure dps, but IMO more fun.
it is arguably the 2nd best spec behind hammer. hammerdin has magic damage, so it really doesn't have any to worry about enemy resistances, however once you put an "infinity" on your merc, most light-immune monsters resistance is broken so the light sorc can farm anywhere in the game.
Frrr
Is Orb + fireball (or fire wall) mf Sorc viable? Should clear a little slower tham blizz but has fb for cold immunes just in case.
Don't know who to start first but def first 3 char are blizzard sorc, and hammerdine for mf. Not sure which to choose first. Then smite pally for uber
Druid wolf shapeshifter not included?
When I used to play in the glory days of the game it was lightning sorc for mf, javazon was pretty fun too.
yeah thunderstorm and nova
This is for the scope of single player magic finding. On bnet you will not see a zerker barb like you've shown, I'd swap that build with light trap sin on bnet since they are a lot more common.
remember the trapsin MF bug, less elites spawn. It's good only for very specific cases like nihlatak key runs, shenk/eldritch, travincal etc.
@@llVIU it's more versatile then the pit zerker which is a lot more specific. My point was that he didn't take a lot of scenarios into account. Only the one he knows.
Javazon!!! Can't wait for this remake
Its not a remake its a remaster. Big difference
@@bobgaming3208 OH 10000 apologies you prick
I think blurring the BG when showing items didn't work. It makes me feel dizzy.
Wow last time I played, frozen orb Sorcs were the big thing, and the spread shot amazon thing. Lightning javazons were big too. And whirlwind barbs.
Why is crescent moon never mentioned as a budget inifi?
Is diablo 2 still active? I'm curious if some people started playing again during the pandemic. One of my favourite games growing up. Thinking about redownloading it
it's quite active. they started doing Ladder re-sets a number of years ago so now, every 6 months there is a new ladder re-set. imo it refreshes the gameplay and doesn't flood the market with elite gear until a few months in. these ladder re-sets are almost like "seasons" in other games similar. the next ladder re-set is scheduled for sometime in June, as the last one was Dec. 6th
Def worth getting again. I’ve seen an influx of players recently as well. There are lots of people starting new characters every day on ladder.
awesome thanks. just have to go through storage and find my lord of destruction cd lol
And Lightning sorc why not in the list is because use end game build ?
