Hey in regards to the struggle with the battery cover you twist it with your thumbs then tilt it to the side and it falls off. Really happy with my steel series nova pro but having audeze in the past I got my eye on them 😊👍
Those Razer Blacksharks really surprised me with how good their microphone is. It's a shame that so many of these headphones sound that bad when it comes to the mic, especially the Nova Pros. It's literally twice the price of Blacksharks and it would have been the perfect gaming headset if not for the 2010 cell phone micro quality.
Exactly what i thought when i was searching for my next headset. I was really interested with the Steel series nova pro and read so many good reviews. I couldn't believe it when youtubers mic test it! how can they be asking for $350! I think this is a turning point, in a couple of years they'll all have decent mics. I went for the razer.
This is a hard one. I'm hesitating between Logitech and Razer. I feel like out of the box, the Razer mic sounds better, but after tweaks, the Logitech (Blue) one wins. Hard to say. I feel like you're not losing with either, so I think I'll have to go with the best deal (price) ...
@TheTechne I would like to see you include information about LATENCY. Because latency is a MAJOR deciding factor for me. Any musician who will occasionally (or more than occasionally) play an instrument through their headset will probably notice any latency IMMEDIATELY. Anything over 30ms gets noticeable and anything over 50 is gross
Nice review! Astro A50 are still my go to. I literally bought a set of Nova Wireless, Turtle Beach Pro and constantly compared the same gaming scenes. I was looking for the loudest headset out, and the Astro A50 kept at it every time.
Same! I was just thinking this! Also would be great to see a straight top 5 gaming headsets period. Wired and wireless up against each other. I got the nova pro wired mainly from watching his review on them and am not disappointed. But I am curious if the top wireless ones are even in the ballpark or on par with top wired 👍
@@dreadsonix3961 can you elaborate a little more? Because I know the nova wired are better sounding then nova wireless and that seems to be the case a lot. What are you basing this on?
For anyone worried or on the fence about the maxwell and it’s size. I have a fairly tall and big head, 7 3/4 hat. They fit me perfect on the middle setting of the strap. I was worried it might be to heavy, I don’t find it any heavier than any other high quality headset. I use WC freeze pads and the headset is insanely comfortable. It doesn’t feel heavy at all when holding it, just well built. I do have a pretty strong linebacker type neck but I can’t imagine it being too much for someone smaller. It honestly doesn’t feel “heavy” to me at all. Remember these weights are in grams so even a bigger number still isn’t heavy. It will feel heavier if you’re used to all plastic headsets but to me it just feels solid and well built. Should fit any head very comfortably and I played for 7 hours straight with no weight or neck issues. Hope this helps
I literally have neck problems and I'm 6'-0" and 150 lbs, so opposite of linebacker build, im not experiencing any issues with wearing them all day either. Incredible headset.
@@ThrustWithVigor that's kinda insane how well balanced these are, i've seen so many people comment how comfortable it is, despite its excessive weight, from all ranges.
Maxwell sound is unbelievable, heard things in games and movies I've never heard, they're comfortable because the weight is evenly distributed, they get a little heated after a few hours but I have my wicked cushions on the way.
I had the Nova Pros and switched to the TB Stealth Pros. I love them! Both are great but I prefer the sound of the Stealth Pros a little more. I do wish their batteries lasted as long as SS but thats so picky because they're swapable.
Dude you explain things in a way I can actually understand. I've definitely been enjoying your reviews over the last few months. It's good to have another member of the balding brotherhood out there killin it
I got the turtle beach stealth pros and I like them but the sound is a bit too low some times for me, but with a few adjustments in the eq and the problem is solved
@@austindougherty7738 I initially used one that I made but found the one GadgetryTec uses better and solved a lot of problems. Still since I Use my stealth pros on ps5 the game to chat is useless so far, hope they can add it soon
I'm a bit wary with Turtle Beach now as I had the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max and the plastic around the hinge ended up cracking and the whole left earcup broke off, with nothing but the inner wire connecting it. I'm sure the more expensive Stealth Pro has better build quality but the Stealth 700 wasn't exactly cheap either. And I only had it for just under a year and never manhandled it or anything. Just normal use
I have the same issue with my 600 Max I sent a claim to turtle beach and the sent me a refurbished pair and same thing happened to them as well with in 3-4 months smh
Im upgrading from my Astro A50 headset. I want decent comfort with the most immersive sound as I play a lot of single player games but I also play a shit load of Destiny and COD. I use only for gaming so in your opinion which headset best fit for me. I dont use for phone or anything other than watcing movies and gaming on PC.
Hey Techne, as a user of the SS at first I thought the magnetised pads were a little difficult too. I have noticed though that if you apply a tiny bit of pressure and rotate, the pad just falls clean off. Just an easier way to access the battery and usb-c without scratching
Got myself a TB Stealth Pro's 40% off coming in at 197.99 euro few days ago as Gamestop in Ireland is closing down all stores and they have clearout sale going on. Super happy for steal of the year !!! Amazing review as always as I enjoy watching great work of yours!! Also hope WC will make cushions for them in breathable option. Keep up the great work man!!
That's awesome! Great deal!! I just bought a pair of TB Stealth Pro's from a guy who got them for his birthday and said he doesn't like TB, so I gave him $200 usd and got them brand new, not opened. *And honestly, I've been really impressed with them! The sound is incredible, and they're actually really comfortable too!!
I love close to realistic sound and I'm blown away by Audeze penrose x for xbox series x but I just got the ps5 think I'm going for the Maxwell's man it's hard to go back to steelseries 😩😍😅 thanks because of your chanell I'm getting the absolute best gaming experience bro BIG UP 💪🏾🙏🏾🍸
With my Nova pros, I just spin the ear plate around and it comes off a lot easier. The magnets and the magnetic parts of the plate are in very specific spots, so just spin it around so they aren't close to each other. A lot easier to get them off that way
I personally would pick the TB stealth pros if only they weren't so expensive down here in Australia but thanks to you Techne I did just recently buy the Tb gen 2 max headset after watching your review on them love your work keep it up 👌🤘👊
I have the audeze Maxwell and I love it. That is by far the best gaming headset I ever had.I tried the nova pro wired but didn't like so I bought the Maxwell. The only downside of the maxwell is the weight after 4-5 hours using it non stop it will start hurting a little bit.
@@amandalopez1478 the noise cancelation nub pressed my ears it was impossible to wear them longer than 2 hours. The only solution was to buy the wicked cushions for 40€ and that is to pricey for me to expand for a gaming headset because I would expand 380€ at total and for that price range I can buy a better headset so I send them back. The other problem was the mic it it is horrible compared to the maxwell. The sound of novas are good but the maxwell are way better than the novas. If you play more open world games or alot if you friends the maxwell is the way but if you play more fps I would buy the novas with the wicked cushions or the stealth pro. To be honest with you don't buy the novas if you play more fps go with the stealth pro the sound is amazing for fps and for open world games as well.
Having tried every other brand mentioned on this list I'm getting my first pair of Audeze. Been a long time Razer fanboy, had the older version of the Blackshark V2 they were great until the volume knob stopped working. I've been burned by older SteelSeries headsets, Turtle Beach I dont like the gamer sound from them and never really been impressed with the mic. I havent tried any logitec since the redesign of their series. But older models have never really sat comfortably on my head. But with all that said I agree with all the pros and cons, and I'm willing to give the Maxwell's a true shot.
How are you liking your decision. I have the older version of the Blackshark V2 Pro, and for whatever reason now, they cut out constantly and I get static despite the dongle being 2 feet away. I loved these the last two years I had these, but considering splurgin on the Audeze.
Idk, he’s made all of these headsets sound like the best thing since sliced bread in their individual reviews. Kinda seems like he walked back his stance on the novas and the maxwells. And then he picks the black sharks which are one of the newer headsets… he’s taken shots at gadgetry tech, but tbh his reviews seem more honest and transparent.
Got to love the tri force drivers. Waiting for Techne to release his own brand of headset. The Techne Triumphs. See I even named the brand for him with a motorcycle twist
@The Techne another great comparison I haven’t tried the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 yet, but I’ve tried and tested the others I’m someone who really understands what good audio is as I’ve been around it for over 25 years and I’ve tried and tested so many headsets and headphones just like the UA-camrs, if not more I’m mostly an FPS gamer and when I’m choosing a headset it’s purely based on imaging. Overall sound quality isn’t important to me. As long as it sounds good and clean. I have expensive studio headphones for music. For me the most important thing is imaging and being able to pin point an enemy and knowing their exact direction and position in FPS games I own a few wireless and wired headsets. Let’s just get one thing out of the way, if you’re a desk gamer, wired is the best option. With a wired headset you have zero latency, majority of the time better overall sound quality and imaging, but if you’re a sofa gamer, then of course wireless would be the best choice However, I have to say the wireless headset technology has come a long way and these top wireless gaming headsets now have minimal latency, so low that you don’t really notice and the overall sound quality with wireless gaming headsets has also come a long way and most now sound good, if not really good and that goes for imaging as well If you mostly play single player and open world games where immersive and good sound is more important than imaging, I’d say the Audeze Maxwell is the best. It has super clean and audiophile sound quality. However, planar magnetic drivers are known for driver mismatch and they have mediocre imaging, even after EQ tuning. In my opinion the SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless has 90% of sound quality of the Audeze Maxwell, but much better imaging My choice for the best wireless gaming headset is the SteelSeries Nova 7. I’d say it has 95% of sound quality of the Nova Pro Wireless and equal imaging. In fact, it actually has better bass and mids accuracy and after a little EQ’ing equal treble and it costs half the price of the Nova Pro Wireless The best wired headset for FPS games is the VZR Model One, but it’s costs £350. I’m still using the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with super amp for FPS games. It might be old, but it’s still the best headset Turtle Beach has to offer. It has good enough sound quality, excellent imaging and to my hearing it’s still the only Turtle Beach headset the superhuman hearing actually makes a big positive difference To summarise, if you’re mostly a single player gamer and will also use the headset for music, go for the Audeze Maxwell, but if you’re mostly an FPS gamer and money isn’t a problem and you prefer wired, get the VZR Model One and if money is a problem, go for the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2, but if you prefer wireless and want a headset that’s going to be comfortable, has really good sound quality, excellent imaging and good battery life and Bluetooth, go for the SteelSeries Nova 7 If you want a budget wireless headset and mostly play FPS games, go for the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless. It’s a beast of a headset for £100, but if you find the HyperX Cloud 2 Wireless on discount for around £100, definitely go for that instead as it has better imaging
Hey, Need suggestion from HyperX Cloud II Wireless (renewed) for 79 dollar vs Razer Blackshark v2 pro wireless (renewed) for 76 dollars vs SteelSeries Nova 7 (new) for 140 dollars I mostly play fps games like apex, csgo, valorant. Is it worth spending 60ish dollars more for nova 7 if not then out of the 2 which one will be better for fps gaming. As you said I also have imaging as the priority.
Can you help me? I'm in doubt between the steelseries arctis nova 7 (140$) vs Razer barracuda (160$), the barracuda appears with promotions of 50% off sometimes, getting 80$. I mainly wanted a headset for long study sessions, that has good audio and is good for fps games as well. Please help me.
@@pedrocoelho5760 100% go for the Nova 7. The Razer is a mediocre headset. The Nova 7 would be perfect for you. It has really accurate bass and mids and with a little EQ great treble and it has solid imaging. If you get the Nova 7, watch the review by GadgetryTech. He professionally measures the sound profile and makes EQ adjustments to make it as perfect as possible. To save you time watching that video, here’s the EQ you need to do From left to right in order… -0.5, 0, -1, 1, 2, 0, 0, 3, 1, 0.5 This sounds really good with the stock fabric ear pads, but if you get the official SteelSeries leatherette ear pads for the Nova 7, it makes it sound great as it locks in all that sound
@@famezy9103 my fear of buying the steelseries arctis nova 7 is that the sound will disappoint me even if it is equalized, because I saw a lot of people talking about it. According to the rtings reviews, the razer barracuda wireless turned out to be better in sound overall, and it looks like a good headset, but maybe I was mistaken. What do you think? In addition, there is also the turtle beach stealth 700 gen2 max that looks pretty good. I need help with my choice.
@@pedrocoelho5760 I’m sorry for the late reply. I’ve used the Barracuda and I’d say they both have equal sound quality, but again I maintain what I said about the Nova 7. It has almost perfectly accurate bass and mids. However, that’s for over sound quality and I wouldn’t get that mixed up with frequency characteristics and imaging. I’d more have a hard time choosing between the Nova 7 and Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2. They’re both really good, but I’d still go for the Nova 7 as it has that perfect bass and mids
15:54 I would Never ever recommend these. They're awful. the Wireless range is next to none. I tilt my head the wrong way and they disconnect. wich happens so often that I had to quit using them. the Little Audio Wheel on the side. I never touched it, Yet it became so broken that the slightest movement and I lose all audio / Get Static and distorted audio ear-raping me. It's an absolute garbage headset. would not recommend it.
This is why I trust this guy.He may be a little bias with his own personal handset brand or whatever but regardless of that he’ll give his honest opinion to us over trying to make us purchase an expensive headset that gets him special bonuses and brings in more cash for his pockets.I can honestly say I trust his opinions on products.
I have the older steel series wireless headphones and what you say about the battery life is sort of true but also not. It may not have the longest battery life in a continuous fashion but with swappable batteries it literally takes like 20 seconds to change battery and it gives you plenty of warning before it dies. This makes it virtually impossible to run out of battery because way before the fresh battery runs down the other one is fully charged so you have like 20 seconds of downtime and unlimited life. I love this feature and I refuse to give it up.
That was what I liked about my Siberia 840s - but the batteries lose life (that's true of any batteries, even in-built ones) and the charging port deteriorated which made it picky about where exactly the battery terminals lined up with the charging housing. I used my headset for about 50-60 hours a week for about 5 years before my newly arrived kids broke them by yanking it while I was wearing it (one kid each ear).
I love the Blacksharks like you do;especially the mic. Nova pros though I use the most mainly because I game on multiple consoles. The mic is good after some tweaks so I’m not complaining at all. I have two great headsets. One of them was actually a gift. Nova Pro and with Wicked Cushions for the win.
Why Corsair HS80 isn't on that list. All of UA-cam reviewers (including you) praised it so much. I am not questioning your decision. I am genuinely curious.
@@Sensei_gojo it has solid sound and the mic is clear and crisp for party chat. That’s my preferred choice for budget wireless headphones for pc since they go on sale for $100-120.
I so wanted to change my headset, i got a Kraken X from Razer and the ark is made of plastic obviously having an inbred gigantic pumpkin for a skull ended up breaking the thing, the sound still amazing (for my standards that is) so i been watching this however these prices in Brazil are like absolutely ass rupting, some aren't even present on my usual hardware store which is always a red flag. If only their official sites could sell the bloody thing.
I had the arctis pro, they were fantastic, i loved the features of having different audio exits tfor my stream and all, the audio was good, and they were comfortable... but.. they broke exactly where you said it does get loose STEELSERIES send me a NEW PAIR for free, without me even sending the originals to them, just informations and pictures, so, customer service 5/5 BUT after 2 years, they broke again in the same spot.... over time, it did crack, and it came off, and ive beeen still using the headset for the past 2 months, and now im thinking what to buy... I DON'T CARE about spending, but im genuinly scared they are mjust gonna break again... i was not rough with them, they didn't fall, i didn't smash them or all, of course id din't treat them like they were made of glass, but i was careful, specially with the second one looking at the nova, im assuming they did try to fix that issue becasue they look WAY more stretchy, but im unsure what to buy, because it looks like they are in the mid of making a new step with them, id be pissed if new model came out as soon as i bought nova or something.
Maxwell's voice isolation seems to remove plosives, so it's much more comfortable to listen to you talk with the isolation on. Lots of plosives when it's off
I have the turtle beach stealth pro for my ps5 coming from the 700 gen 2 and the weight is honestly not even noticeable in the slightest. But if you aren't gaming in air conditioning good luck because these things will get a bit warm, overall the best gaming headset I've ever owned hands down
Hey teche I hope you see this, I have a mediocre budget and am torn on what to get. The cloud II Arctis one for Xbox (I’m on Xbox) or even the arctis 3 or 5 but then I’m also a earbud guy and there are g pros which seem good and also blackshark 2. What would you recommend for mostly audio and footsteps in r6 ranked and mic quality. Any help in comments would be nice 👍 also good vid 😊
No Corsair HS80 Wireless? I mean I have the Wired version but a absolutely love them, very comfortable and awesome sound quality It being 20Hz-40,000Hz was a huge selling point for me since most other gaming headsets that i was looking at didn't reach that higher frequency range. Plus got a good amazon deal for the corsair hs80, got them for $60, what a steal!
I just wrote the same thing scrolling through the comments to see if anybody else mentioned this. I got the wireless version with extra pair of velour and leather ear pads for $56.
Bro I hate my arctic 9 so much! It was good in the beginning but then it all started going down the hill. Imma buy the TB, but idk I’m thinking on going with the nova pro, but all the steelseries did to me, yeah they really did me dirty. Anyways I really want the tb one idk
I wonder what the next upgrade for the Arctis nova pro wireless will be. It’s hard to imagine an even better headset. To take off the battery cover or the other cover on the headset don’t use the little hole on the bottom of it just twist it and it comes off easier and quicker. Also does anyone know if the Steelseries gg software is coming to console soon? I heard from steelseries they are working on it supposedly but that’s all I’ve heard.
Agree! Love my Novas. I convinced that my experience in Diablo 4 was 10 time better cuz of the sound ! For me the bass is so perfect balance and the treble ain’t to weak of high. Really love them! Have like 10 different headset, and this is my favourite. 🎉 But also really excited to se what SS bring up next. But think there will be at least like 2-3 yeara😊
@@Nemogamingdk Can’t wait to see what they come up with next. I just gotta keep these for a few more years to use them to they’re fullest first before getting an upgrade. Definitely a great upgrade to your listening and gaming experience. I’ve had zero problems with them after about maybe 7.5 months only complaint being the ear pads getting flat after awhile but I use them a lot so that’s not really a problem with the headset. Just general wear and tear but they can be replaced easily.
i remember postin in this channel on how I loved the Virtuoso SE wireless headset from Corsair and someone told me that I wouldnt for long... Gdammit they were right .. i hate this headset now..
Dude this review was everything I needed! I just picked up the Logitech G pro X yesterday and was playing R6 siege - I had that exact issue with no being able to tell where footsteps were coming from! I am going to return them for the razor back shark today. Thank you!
@@BTN454 I ended up getting the razer and I’m honestly not too happy with it. I came from the steelseries 7 which I feel has a more crisp sound and better bass. The razer has 0 bass even with bass boost on and I’m not a fan of that. I’m thinking about spending the money on the nova pros or Astro a50. I just want a great headset but haven’t found it yet!
@@BLANGBLANGable did u get the 2023 version? Because I heard it has very good sound and a little more bassy than the rest. I am just in the middle of wired nova pros and blackshark 2 pro 2023’s. What do u say about it :)
@@BTN454 I did buy the 2023 version, those are the ones I returned. I bought the nova pros, just tested them literally 45 minutes ago. Would recommend them 100%! The audio clarity on these headphones is unmatched and I literally haven’t end had them for more than 2 hours. It’s worth the money bro
The bass from these headphones are vibrating my ears. They’re great for music and ill test them for gaming tomorrow but I can already tell they’ll blow any headset out of the water
I’m coming from Penrose X and I got the TB stealth pro.. they sound good but I just can’t seem to see what’s so great about them. They aren’t loud enough for one.. how do I fix that? I loved my Penrose X but I had 3 pairs in 2 years from them breaking.
I tired the Nova and they disappointed me massively. Sent them back and luckily got a refund. Uncomfortable, shallow ear cup, insane creaking and when couple with the insanely sensitive mic, just a bad all round experience. People could hear the clock ticking on my wall. Every adjustement I'd make to the ear cups or head movement and they would creak and it'd come through into the mic.
I have the Maxwell and I cannot say that they are remotely comfortable. The stock pads are great but makes my ears very warm. I have the WC Freezepads and due to how thick the pads is the clamping force is a little too much for me and I end up adjusting the headset every 10-15mins.
And to mention: using them in Ms teams calls the whole day is no problem and I got excellent feedback from colleagues about the microphone quality! Love them! Game changer after using Jabra head destroying headphones.
Hey techne, love the videos. You've helped me narrow down what headset ima eventually get. Do you think you would ever do a video on the best headsets for footsteps or for xbox series x specifically as I'd love those video so much to fully confirm my choice. Keep up the videos man
Even though I like Razer very much (have a ton of their gear like keyboard, chair, headphone stand, RGB mat, bungee) and I bought the Barracuda X, I just can't get over how bad all the gaming headphones are for music with real instruments (rock, metal...). Especially since I had a few AKG headphones... So I'm getting the Audeze Maxwell.
I am so anxious to buy my Blacksharks. Unfortunately in Brazil we have no official stores, so we have to pay a thousand of taxes and wait +30 days to arrive.
I love my Sony inzone h7.. I’ve owned many high end gaming headsets . Me personally I like the Sony inzone the best .. for comfort.. light weight… sound quality.. pretty good mic.. great battery life . What more could you want .
I used to have some nice sounding Turtle Beach back in the PS3 days. A few years ago I got a new pair and they did not sound good. Talking about $200 ones. I have the old Steelseries and they don’t have enough bass, but are very comfortable and has good features. Just purchased the SteelSeries Nova 7x and just waiting for them to come in.
Same. Although I did find my Hyper X cloud flight set was more comfortable and the mute option was more convenient by tapping the entire cup and not having to search for a little button that's on the cloud 2.
Honestly, I watched the video, and for the price, I feel like the Steelseries' microphone is straight up unacceptable. I feel like it would disqualify them even when compared to some $100-$150 wireless headsets.
What are the best noise cancelling headsets for ps5 as all of the headsets that are top seem to have that little *noise cancelling on pc! So what's best for ps I got the steel series nova but the noise from the room or outside noise was unbearable for other people! I had the turtle beach elite pro 2 with the super amp prior to looking now but... There was a screeching noise a crackle noise it would bust my ear drums I sent them back got another set and the same thing happened I gave up and kept them threes years in the mic jack is broken so can't have the mic in and also the ear muff has completely come away from the casing (£9 easy fix) I'm fed up spending £150+ for headsets and them not being worth the £sss CAN YOU PLEASE do a review for ps5 and noise cancelling (people even complained they could hear my game through the headset!)
I have 3 major headphones. The best is my Audio Technica m50x that i turned into a full fledged gaming headset by getting the mic u can plug into the headphones where the regular cord goes. It comes with an audio volume dial, but i disregard it, b/c i bought the turtle beach audio dial for xbox. Microsoft has its own dial but nowhere as detailed as the turtle beach b/c it not only has the typical volume & mute, but it has 5 eq pptions for the audio & 3 eq options for the mic, master volume on 1 side, chat to game volume on the other side, 3 options for mic monitoring, etc. I also replaced the earpads fpr wicked cusions which feel like pillows, & help with noise canceling...2nd i got The Razer Kaira pro's halo edition. I was surprised at how good they sound. They pretty much have all the same features i just named, but the main thing i love is the look & rgb lol, but the THING THAT I REALLY REALLY LOVE is being able to listen to the game & phone simultaneously!!! These literally were made for me b/c i dont think theres ever been a time where i only want to do or hear 1 thing. I didn't even know it was possible. With my audio technica's i would take an earbud & put it in my ear & put my headphones over it & control the volume of it thru my phone. That feature really fits me perfectly. I recently got a PS5 a couple of months ago for Spider-Man 2...I wanted to get another pair of Razer Kaira pro's but they dont have the simultaneously feature. Now i found out the Steel Series Artics 7x has that feature & can be used on both consoles, so i gotta try them out to see how they actually sound, but it was perfect timing for Spider-Man 2
I just bought the Arctis Nova 7x and when the battery is 25% or lower it makes a sound EVERY 5 MINUTES. Is it normal? 25% battery is still 9,5 hours of battery, but that repeating sound makes the headset unusable until I charge it.
Where is the Corsair HS80? Corsair HS80 have fantastic sound and build quality, not to mention the mic clarity. Audeze Maxwell is probably the only one that is better in sound quality in this video, but not build.
@The Techne i got the maxwell as well trust me these maxwells have alot of bass if you want, you gotta EQ them i EQed mine to have alot of bass but also have crispy highs it sounds so good and there rumbling on my head with the bass it so immersive.
planners can get bass, but its not like a standard driver type of bass (at least to me) bI have, use, and love many planner headphones as well. But it's always a different bass. Not saying I don't like it, I actually love it. But if you want bass, you gotta go standard driver, VZR1 ones are a good example of this
@@Mark_cheapskate Initially, I was also upset with the bass of the Maxwells. But then, when I adjusted the EQ, I was amazed by the powerful and clear bass. my headphones are just shaking on my head wow
In my country I can get the blackshark v2 pros for half the price of the Logitech ones. And that sucks, because I really want the Logitech. Looks like I will wait a little more
Razer kills with the mic but I worry about their quality and reliability - too many bad reviews out there. It seems that Audeze may be the best combo of reliability/quality and mic sound.
* correction on the nova pro battery, it’s 22hrs per batt.
haii,,, razer can using wireless on my xbox series x and ps5 ?

Those Razer Blacksharks really surprised me with how good their microphone is. It's a shame that so many of these headphones sound that bad when it comes to the mic, especially the Nova Pros. I would like to see you include information about LATENCY.

I would like to see you compare all 5 of these headsets from Sound, comfort , features, mics, and price and rate them in order each on every category.

You got the battery life wrong on the Nova pro wireless, its 22hr per battery. It's only 12hrs for the Turtle Beach Pro's.
Indeed.
I was just about to post this as well.
Maxwell sound is unbelievable, heard things in games and movies I've never heard, they're comfortable because the weight is evenly distributed, they get a little heated after a few hours but I have my wicked cushions on the way.
mic is muffle is that true ?
@P N nobody has complained about the sound. Gaming friends said it sounds good. There's a mic test at the end of this video.

I got the turtle beach stealth pros and I like them but the sound is a bit too low some times for me, but with a few adjustments in the eq and the problem is solved

I use the eq from GadgetryTech's review and I like it a lot.

I currently have the Penrose, are the Maxwell better in your opinion?
I wouldn’t say better. But different.
Is it worth the upgrade?
I found the same I replied with the same solution hope he sees
I just got these a few days ago. Thanks for mentioning that!
Yes, i also wanted to mention, just push and turn. Way easier and cleaner removal that way.

Is the mic good? My current headset the mic is ass. Audio is fine but the mic has killed the full headset

My dream is to replace my dac + HD700 headphones with a wireless headset that will have the same sound quality lol.. dream on right.
With my Nova pros, I just spin the ear plate around and it comes off a lot easier. The magnets and the magnetic parts of the plate are in very specific spots, so just spin it around so they aren't close to each other. A lot easier to get them off that way
Brooo when did he get covered in tats?
I’m buying a gaming headset primarily for the sound when playing games. Everything else is secondary including the cost. Which sound the best in game?
Do you think the Corsair virtuoso RGB SE wireless is still worth it against these top 5 of ur choice?

I have the audeze Maxwell and I love it. That is by far the best gaming headset I ever had.I tried the nova pro wired but didn't like so I bought the Maxwell. The only downside of the maxwell is the weight after 4-5 hours using it non stop it will start hurting a little bit.

@@Motion_God yeah I know, I got pretty lucky and got one 2 months ago by LCLC.

Torn between the Stealth pro and the Nova pro both at $450.00 Cad.😢
I love the app control on the stealth pro
Just what I needed, helped me choose :-) Thanks for the UK links too.
Do any of these carry eq settings over from the pc companion app to consoles, ps5 specifically?
Got to love the tri force drivers. Waiting for Techne to release his own brand of headset. The Techne Triumphs. See I even named the brand for him with a motorcycle twist
I like what you did there ;)
@The Techne another great comparison
I haven’t tried the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 yet, but I’ve tried and tested the others
I’m someone who really understands what good audio is as I’ve been around it for over 25 years and I’ve tried and tested so many headsets and headphones just like the UA-camrs, if not more
I’m mostly an FPS gamer and when I’m choosing a headset it’s purely based on imaging. Overall sound quality isn’t important to me. As long as it sounds good and clean. I have expensive studio headphones for music. For me the most important thing is imaging and being able to pin point an enemy and knowing their exact direction and position in FPS games
I own a few wireless and wired headsets. Let’s just get one thing out of the way, if you’re a desk gamer, wired is the best option. With a wired headset you have zero latency, majority of the time better overall sound quality and imaging, but if you’re a sofa gamer, then of course wireless would be the best choice
However, I have to say the wireless headset technology has come a long way and these top wireless gaming headsets now have minimal latency, so low that you don’t really notice and the overall sound quality with wireless gaming headsets has also come a long way and most now sound good, if not really good and that goes for imaging as well
If you mostly play single player and open world games where immersive and good sound is more important than imaging, I’d say the Audeze Maxwell is the best. It has super clean and audiophile sound quality. However, planar magnetic drivers are known for driver mismatch and they have mediocre imaging, even after EQ tuning. In my opinion the SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless has 90% of sound quality of the Audeze Maxwell, but much better imaging
My choice for the best wireless gaming headset is the SteelSeries Nova 7. I’d say it has 95% of sound quality of the Nova Pro Wireless and equal imaging. In fact, it actually has better bass and mids accuracy and after a little EQ’ing equal treble and it costs half the price of the Nova Pro Wireless
The best wired headset for FPS games is the VZR Model One, but it’s costs £350. I’m still using the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with super amp for FPS games. It might be old, but it’s still the best headset Turtle Beach has to offer. It has good enough sound quality, excellent imaging and to my hearing it’s still the only Turtle Beach headset the superhuman hearing actually makes a big positive difference
To summarise, if you’re mostly a single player gamer and will also use the headset for music, go for the Audeze Maxwell, but if you’re mostly an FPS gamer and money isn’t a problem and you prefer wired, get the VZR Model One and if money is a problem, go for the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2, but if you prefer wireless and want a headset that’s going to be comfortable, has really good sound quality, excellent imaging and good battery life and Bluetooth, go for the SteelSeries Nova 7
If you want a budget wireless headset and mostly play FPS games, go for the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless. It’s a beast of a headset for £100, but if you find the HyperX Cloud 2 Wireless on discount for around £100, definitely go for that instead as it has better imaging
Hey, Need suggestion from HyperX Cloud II Wireless (renewed) for 79 dollar vs Razer Blackshark v2 pro wireless (renewed) for 76 dollars vs SteelSeries Nova 7 (new) for 140 dollars
I mostly play fps games like apex, csgo, valorant.
To save you time watching that video, here’s the EQ you need to do
From left to right in order…
-0.5, 0, -1, 1, 2, 0, 0, 3, 1, 0.5
This sounds really good with the stock fabric ear pads, but if you get the official SteelSeries leatherette ear pads for the Nova 7, it makes it sound great as it locks in all that sound
Have you done a video on Steelseries Nova 7p vs Arctis 7p+?
15:54 I would Never ever recommend these. They're awful. the Wireless range is next to none. @@TheTechne Absolutely!
You forgot the corsair HS80's, light, solid build, cozy, good battery life, quality sound and great price!
Cause it’s probably not better then any of the ones he had on this list. If it was better he’d have it here
I would have put the Corsair HS80 Wireless in the top 5.
How come?
@@Sensei_gojo it has solid sound and the mic is clear and crisp for party chat. That’s my preferred choice for budget wireless headphones for pc since they go on sale for $100-120.

BUT after 2 years, they broke again in the same spot.... over time, it did crack, and it came off, and ive beeen still using the headset for the past 2 months, and now im thinking what to buy...
I DON'T CARE about spending, but im genuinly scared they are mjust gonna break again... i was not rough with them, they didn't fall, i didn't smash them or all, of course id din't treat them like they were made of glass, but i was careful, specially with the second one
looking at the nova, im assuming they did try to fix that issue becasue they look WAY more stretchy, but im unsure what to buy, because it looks like they are in the mid of making a new step with them, id be pissed if new model came out as soon as i bought nova or something.

I just got the nova pro and the receiver wasn’t working right. Insane when I paid $350 for them. Returned them immediately
Where is the Corsair HS80? Corsair HS80 have fantastic sound and build quality, not to mention the mic clarity. Audeze Maxwell is probably the only one that is better in sound quality in this video, but not build.
lol
The cover on the Arctis Pro's is removed by just giving them a 1/4 twist so the magnets don't match any they just fall off...
I saw a lot of mixed reviews but your very detailed reviews on a couple of your videos im going to get the razer blacksharks right now. New sub
@The Techne i got the maxwell as well trust me these maxwells have alot of bass if you want, you gotta EQ them i EQed mine to have alot of bass but also have crispy highs it sounds so good and there rumbling on my head with the bass it so immersive.
So cool bro
How's the mic? Im looking to get good headset that sounds good but i want a nice mic aswell
planners can get bass, but its not like a standard driver type of bass (at least to me) bI have, use, and love many planner headphones as well. But it's always a different bass. Not saying I don't like it, I actually love it. But if you want bass, you gotta go standard driver, VZR1 ones are a good example of this
I did the same. The Maxwell's has incredible balance with an extra added EQ bass is over the top!
Looks like I will wait a little more
My son broke my JBL headset and the band was plastic. I am never buying another plastic headset that cost premium dollars.
Razer kills with the mic but I worry about their quality and reliability - too many bad reviews out there. It seems that Audeze may be the best combo of reliability/quality and mic sound.
