Thanks for your thoughts on the XS20. I love my XS20, I use mine mainly for photography, the battery life is incredible often over 1000 shots, the custom modes allow you to set the camera quickly for different scenarios, or film sims. Stabilisation is awesome, I’ve taken some incredible photos of insects, handheld with the 70-300mm lens, the large hand grip helps with the handling of the camera.

Man! I’m in this boat right now lol my main cameras are red Komodos. I’ve been using a gh7 with them but honestly I can see the limitations of the sensor. It doesn’t hold the grade in 10 bit or raw like Komodo does. I can’t get mad at it. On its own, it’s a great camera but next to red it doesn’t hold up. I’ve had an xs20 laying around as my dad cam for months and I’m just seeing how powerful it is in video even next to red. In raw it can hold a red grade and in 10 bit it also holds it nicely. Better than the gh7 cam. It’s got me wanting to ditch mft lumix and get an xh2s to be solid c cam/hybrid cam next to my Komodos or use an xh2s & xs20 a&b cams on their own. I’m torn right now. So far I know I want an apsc camera because the lenses are smaller but I can also adapt to FF lenses and have a closer to FF look. Super versatile and I reckon the xh2s is the best apsc camera. Have any advice ???
Hmm tricky one bro, hard to match a Komodo, I would still probably pick the Blackmagic 6k full frame or 6k pro as the b-cam. But if you’re looking for something with autofocus and ibis and all that stuff, yes an Xh2s would be a great option or the the S5iix with braw to the Blackmagic monitor might be also suit, you can use it in super 35 mode.
@ thanks for the reply man! I actually jumped ship altogether and went with Fuji. I didn’t want to use lumix FF because one I’m not a fan of the s5iix body and I have FF ef lenses. They’re awesome on jobs where I shoot komodo but when traveling it limits how many lenses I can travel with since they’re big. I wasn’t going to buy a set of FF l mount lenses for travel. So I went with Fuji since I already have a few small lenses I use with my xs20. I got an xh2s and metabones adapter in the mail to get here next week. I’m excited. I’ll be using the xh2s & xs20 combo for jobs where Komodo isn’t needed or the xh2s in combo with Komodo’s
I had one XS20, loved it but sold it for XH2S. I agree that XS20 is affordable yet powerful enough. Actually I love it more than XH2S. Production line had been allotted to other models and there are very few units on the market
Good video, but I don't agree with you on some things. In my opinion, you miss the main point of X100 cameras. I am a photographer and a videographer. But photography was my first love. I am not a Fujifilm user yet, but I plan to be one soon. The reason I plan on buying on a Fujifilm is not the film simulation modes. It is the pure photographic experience. See, I started my photography with a fully manual SLR film camera. Afterwards I shifted to DSLRs when they became available. I like all the modern and speedy benefits my current Canon mirrorless camrera (R6 II) offers; they are great for commercial work. But for my personal work, it feels like the soul of photography is missing. I want a Fujifilm because I want those manual controls (aperture ring and shutter speed dial), and I wanna slow down. Also, some people like the X100 cameras for their rangefinder-style design as well. Street photogrphy with a rangefinder is different from that with an SLR, as you have a more compact body, and you can keep the other eye open. Video is a different story. I agree with all the things you said about the X-S20, but from a videographer's perspective, not a photographer's.
I'm mainly into shooting video, v so i have my eye on upgrading from the X-T2 to the X-H2s, but I'm thinking this camera would make for an outstanding B-Cam... 🤔
I'll never purchase another Fuji camera. I got screwed with the X-T3 and the common battery drain issue. (battery is flat within 3 days when camera is off) I contacted Fuji Australia with the camera just one week out of warranty. They would not fix it under warranty. Unlike Nikon who fixed both my D610 and D750 well outside the warranty period with common known issues. They've become way over priced now anyway. Fuji needs to remember they are just a crop sensor camera and start pricing accordingly. I can pick up a Nikon Z6ii or ZF for the price of an X-T5 in Australia.

The misleading title and thumbnail makes you think it's a video about why using bigger cameras matters but it's really just a x100vi vs xs20 comparison video. And it's not insightful either. You're just putting those specs in longer sentences. Half of the stuff you said are obvious, the other half doesn't even make sense. Absolutely hate it when youtubers prioritize affiliation sell than actually making meaningful content and telling you straightforward what this video is about. Thanks for wasting everyone's time
It’s obvious to you gooning over gear in your mums basement. Not to those new to Fuji - like me. So I personally made a video about the features of this camera I didn’t know about and thought people would find useful. I bought the camera with my own money and tested it over several months- and talked about what I learned. But you run on and leave your douchey comment rather than do a review yourself 👍🫡

@@jaymills1720 because that particular camera may speak to you more than another. No camera is perfect. I absolutely love the x-pro3. The Zf is on an entirely different planet as far as autofocus, but if I had to choose what to use, it would be the x-pro because I feel more creative with it. That is a huge accomplishment to make a camera that speaks to you. Which is why we have so many choices and I think that is what is nice. I hope that doesn't come off as rude or aggressive. Just wanted to make a point that some people miss when discussing cameras. The objectively best camera doesn't always line up with what we want to use.

the XS-20 is the real deal Holyfield. this was the first camera I've ever purchased new. I'm glad I did. Without a cage, the camera is truly small.

Fair enough, if it’s a more authentic old school street photography experience the X100 certainly delivers.

I returned my xs-20 because the EVF is only 0.39 inches in size.
