    I have the X-H2. I’m a hybrid shooter that does not do fast panning shots or much slow motion, so the X-H2S was not a necessity. The 8K on the other hand was a bonus, as I can pan and zoom in post and still maintain excellent video quality. I often hear people say the 40mp does not make a difference, but as a portrait photographer that does retouching, it really does. I also have not ran across any limitations in focus speed or accuracy, other than the lens that’s being used. If I ever need the specs of the X-H2S, I’d happily get it as it is an amazing camera as well, but for now I couldn’t be more pleased with my X-H2. Nice video 👍🏽

    Thanks for the great comparison. I opted for 2 x X-H2's as I already have a couple of X-T4's and X-T3's. It took me a while to get used to the PASM system. But coming from Nikon from a while back, it came back to me. I wish the X-H2 had the C,S, and M switch as is on the T3's and T4's. Much more ergonomic.

    I own X-T3 and X-E4, but I'm not quite happy with the Video shooting experience on X-T3 much. Actually I want to upgrade my X-T3 to X-T5 but after watching a lot of reviews, I've decided for X-H2S. It's the best upgrade I've made!! Very reliable Autofocus. Wonderful colors reproduction. I'm very happy.

    I have the X-H2S and recently acquired the Nikon Z9 with the intention of selling the Fuji, but I just cannot do it! It’s such a powerhouse for the size. It’s a highly impressive camera and then you have those Fuji colours.
    If I was to recommend a camera in the sub 3k price range, the X-H2S will be right at the top of the list, by some distance too.

    Wes, I've just come across your channel. Really appreciate all your observations, as I'm considering buying back into some Fuji model, having owned ones several times in the past. Just wanted to share some of my experience that might be relevant to some of the comments you make, and of help to other readers. When we consider the degree of sharpness (of fine details) produced by different cameras, just what sort of anti-aliasing filter the camera maker puts in front of each model's sensor is a really big determinant. Having shot both the Canon R and R5 (and owning many earlier Canon DSLRs and now the R7 and R6), Canon tends to opt for aliasing filters that can mute or rob the image of that fine detail. I found the R model especially soft/mushy on fine detail. In contrast, Camera brands that have some models with NO anti-aliasing filters can provide some great fine detail even with low megapixel sensors. For example, Nikon's 20 mp sensors used in their D500, D7500 and now the Z50 (last two of which I own) DON'T have an anti-aliasing filter in front of their sensors and offer refreshingly nice fine detail. Though my Canon R6 has a little more dynamic range than my Z50, the Z50 offers better fine detail - as long as i leave it at its full resolution and don't crop into the image for its final composition. Hope this is helpful.

    • @WesKriesel
      @WesKriesel  Рік тому

      Thanks for the info! I thought the R5 was very sharp compared to the R. What's your take on that? Was it just resolution I was observing?

      @@WesKriesel Wes, I am sort of at a loss for what to make of the R5. I used both the 24-105 f/4 and my ef100 L macro IS. It was my first time shooting with a higher megapixel sensor camera. I expected to see more fine detail, but it didn’t wow me.

      @@WesKriesel I do have several Fujifilm cameras and in terms of performance, quality and AF performance, this is my favorite camera hands down.
      I recently also got the chance to get my hands on a X-E4 for easy portable fun shooting. I was surprised how well this camera performs despite its small form-factor. I still love my X-T cameras, but the a X-E4 stays in my pocket wherever I go and the X-H2S will remain my working horse for video and capturing landscapes, low-light scenes or anything that requires serious afterthought.

    I bought the XT5 and the XH2s. XT5 is my absolute favourite, but the XH2s is the better camera. Even for photography, it can do sports and fast paced action better, and of course it’s the better video camera. However, the XT5 is good enough as a b-cam for video when needed, but as a nice fun camera to walk around with, the XT5 is simply more fun to use.

    I agree with your analysis. I use my Nikon system for part-time professional work; events and low light dance performances. I just purchased the XT-5 for travel. It is a fine camera, but it has too many megapixels for many of Fuji's current lenses. This is a demanding camera with its high pixel density, but some of the Fuji and third party lenses work very well with the XT-5. I purchased the Tamron 17-70 2.8 (which is a good match, but not a great match for the XT-5), the surprisingly good tiny Sigma 18-50mm 2.8, and the Fuji 70-300mm. I will purchase the Fuji 16mm 2.8 to complete my travel kit. For professional work, the Fuji XH-2s would be a no-brainer with its stacked sensor (like my Nikon Z9), 26 megapixel sensor, blazing AF speed and readout, and excellent ergonomics. If I would be starting over today, I would be tempted to purchase two XH-2s bodies (at $2,500 apiece this is a good deal), the 16-50 2.8, 50-140 2.8, 90mm F/2, 56 F/1.2, and the brilliant Fuji 200 mm f/2 with the 1.4x TC.

    Alright, the hook is set 🎣
    But a question. Can any of these fully implement custom recipes on the video side without workarounds? I know we discussed it on the XE4, and there were compromises there.
    I'd just like to fully roll my Kodachrome 64 sim into video 🌅

    I have the X-H2S but prefer the retro look of the T5. I shoot sports and indoor sports mostly so I need the autofocus and the low light capability. The large sensor creates files too big for my use as I find the images tend to be used on computer, etc and are rarely printed. That being said 26mp is more than enough for the largest print. (the larger the print the further back you have to stand so the MP count isn't as important. Billboards are actually pretty low resolution)
    One thing you forgot to mention was that the X-H2S has the available battery grip whereas the T5 doesn't. I need the extra battery life as well as the balance when I use it on longer lenses like the Great White Sharp XF 200.
