The first track/ shop i went into with my 8yr old daughter, the guy didn't seem interested in answering the fee basic questions i had about starting out which were: Do you have a beginner class and what types of kits do they run. His response was, "Yeah we do that..." I don't know if it was bc we were the only brown people at the track but the vibe definitely wasn't friendly. So we bounced without spending a dime. I was ready to buy two complete 10th scale set ups. Ffwd to today whete I found an 8th scale track that is actually friendly to beginners. I watched your "Every 8th scale buggy" video and I'm leaning towards a Mugen since it's on sale and has easy to follow Adam Drake videos for the build. I was tempted by the AE buggy bc it's even cheaper but i think you daid that the Mugen was slightly better quality. Would you still recommend it?
It depends on what people run at the track you plan to go to. Mugen and AE are both pretty safe options though. I'd head down to the track and see which one is more popular and be sure to talk to the racers themselves, they tend to be more friendly
Great content as always .....im usually running 1:12 scale on road foam but have recently picked up a TA 6.1 to dip my toe into the world of jumps and broken A arms lol....
Amazing, why UA-cam not put you up on my list. Congrats on the Mayo I'm sure I seen you in the discord? There is a few combos for 1/8 scale I believe. But I'm new to racing, so could be the beers talking
Hey just found your channel & am binging it all. Thk u. I'm thinking of buying my 1st kit as there are several tracks w/in 10 min from my house & i used to race as a kid. I've narrowed it down to an RC10 6.4D (which is what I had as a kid) or the Xray XB2 23 (people seem to love the build & aesthetically I love how it looks under the body. Any advice on choice? My concern w/ AE is I read that drivability ootb takes quite a bit of tuning, my concern w/ Xray is parts avail. Any insight you can give would be fantastic. Subbed.
Hey man, thanks for watching. So I'd say the XRAY is an all round better buggy outta the box and in building materials but it's quite expensive and parts are hard to come by. If you're just getting into building kits I'd recommend either of them as like you said they have their ups and downs. Based on parts availability alone though I'd go with the AE unless your local track carries Xray parts
@@RoachRC Thx man, I think I'm leaning toward the Xray but as I said I'm in no hurry. I don't plan on falling all the way down the rabbit hole just want to have some fun & do some club racing with a car I'm proud to have built. Look forward to more content & thanx for replying.
For the algorithm, monetize Roach RC.
props to that marshal at 0:40 for that quick thinking. Guy that got hit didnt deserve to lose that many spots so he hooked him up lol
Great Video Mate! :)
I not new to RC but still subbing because I love the vibe of your videos great for the new folks to RC. Oh and great inside looks at Masters of Dirt.
Thanks man. I appreciate it😄
Great video as always man, Keep it up!

I'm just starting with the hobby and built a TLR 22X4 Elite with a 5.5 turn motor. This is probably too much then... ?
Eh, you can just turn it down in terms of power if you feel like you need to.
@@RoachRC Okay. I'm going for my first run around the track next weekend. So I guess we'll just wing it and see how it goes!
@@wessel_g45 Good luck out there :)
@@RoachRC Thanks! And please keep making videos like this. Great stuff
what gearing do you find comfortable for the eb410.2
I had an 81 tooth spur and a 20 tooth pinion for a 6.5 turn motor
Haha idk if you said Vials or vitals, but I had to lmao😂
