    I just wanted to say thanks for this video. I’m dealing with this pain now. Just by listening to what my body was telling me, I’ve been resting, starting to exercise, worn an elbow sleeve that I settled on only wearing when doing certain activities, etc. Good to know I wasn’t way off base. Now I know more about it and have more exercises to do. Also, I did have shoulder issues on that side as well, and have been addressing those also. Starting to feel improvement. Cheers!

    This is an excellent analysis of a very poorly understood injury. The findings of the quoted literature support the presenter's conclusions and the suggestions for constructing an effective recovery plan are highly pragmatic and can be tailored to an individual's requirements. The overall advice is very well thought through and the explanation for not over emphasising the benefits of stretching the affected muscles is logical. Thank you for putting together the most comprehensive resource for understanding and treating this very frustrating condition.

    Great video, I have distal insertional Bicep tendinopathy , and low grade common extensor tear centered along the ECRB . 52 years old. Weight training over 30 years. Had numerous overuse injuries. I’m going to incorporate these exercises, and I am going to give PRP a try, since my insurance is covering. My arm is already atrophied, even Though I have not stopped lifting. I’ve done lifting modifications. Different exercises, and way lighter load. But again, thanks for the video I can see how this would be tremendously helpful to the average person not familiar with sports injuries.

    So, this is for those of you that are experiencing long term pain that is seemingly chronic. Its been 6 months for me. I had tried both rest and physio exercises, and a combination of both. I had days of relief, but in general, the issues were ongoing. Then, I discovered the Athlean X kettle bell routine for tennis elbow. This was the beginning of realization. The kettle routine was giving me relief but not permanent. I did start to notice that when this routine popped my elbow joints, I would get almost instant relief, but with residual tenderness at the tendon. To be expected I suppose for a tendon under constant strain. So, I remembered I had seen one or two vids that suggested some Tennis elbow is actually a fruit of joint dysfunction and misalignment. I went back and sought out more vids on this issue, and came up with a couple of exercises/movements that are designed to pop the joint back into alignment. Guess what, I went from having a day of pain and restricted motion to near instant relief. So, for me at least it seems my joint is out of whack. This makes sense for me. I was aggressively chopping wood when I triggered my Tennis elbow. So, for me at least, it seems I need to focus on alignment and also strengthening the arm muscles. This goes for the shoulder too. I'm taking a holistic approach to building my arm back up. Good luck.

    • @HendrickT-bi4iw
      @HendrickT-bi4iw 3 місяці тому +2

      Your issue sounds very similar to mine. I tried following online vids and exercises for the first 2 months and noticed no improvement. So started physio therapy and the therapist told me I would notice an improvement after 3 months of therapy. Well that time has passed and I only notice a very marginal improvement. But like you said, there are good and bad days.
      The problem I have with tendonitis is that there's very little info out there on the actual recovery path. In terms of what's normal and what's not normal to feel. Because the recovery path seems to vary a lot from person to person. One thing I recommend, that I wish I did in the very beginning is to get a scan. This will reduce any guess work that a therapist has to do and will give you a clear idea of what to expect.
      I hope you get better soon. It's an unbelievably frustrating injury to suffer from, so I feel for anyone going through the same thing.

    • @DescartesDooley
      @DescartesDooley 3 місяці тому

      Knowing that mine is , at least in part ,caused by misalignment, I have already seen big improvements in a week or so. The joints want to slip back into bad habits however. So, it is going to take time to retrain and strengthen the arm . But 'popping' the joint has been a game changer. Have you looked into alignment issues? @@HendrickT-bi4iw

Though doctor by profession, as first cause mentioned, too soon, went for lifting heavier, now paying the price. I gave myself repeated steroid shots in vain with just a ultra short term little relief, condition aggravated after starting lifting, so, this time Started the rehab following the above guidelines told after watching the video multiple times, taking notes . Thanks for this. I've been dealing with this pain for about 4 months, and it's no joke. Got it from playing tennis, and even though I haven't played since July it is still bothering me -- sometimes it's really painful and limits my range of motion. I think I have also injured the biceps tendons, because I get pain in the crook of my elbow, as well as on the outside (where the funny bone is) when I bend and straighten my elbow.

    I hadn’t played golf for decades and hit a bucket of balls and over a few months (and w my biweekly pushups and curls) a growth on outside of my elbow grew. It doesn’t really hurt but is an eyesore. Nightly icing never helped the ‘swelling’. I’ve recently stopped the workouts but it doesn’t seem to be regressing. I’m on my laptop as a web and graphic designer most all days and again there isn’t really discomfort or pain just want to know how I can decrease the size!

    As a PTA you’re videos are very informative! And I agree with the SPT, a lot of PT practices are not this in-depth or aware of the current research. But we are all greatly informed by your channel to keep up with the best EBP!

    I got this from an injury. Are the exercises the same? My Kaiser doctor gave me some exercises but I don't know if I am doing them right. They can't get me in for PT for 6 weeks. Def changing insurance asap. Also I don't trust them to have my best interests at heart.

    What about shockwave treatment? I am finding it pretty useful and not invasive at all

    I apologize for the comment spam lol, hopefully this will be my last. I've recently also started experiencing more forerram pain, mostly near the inside of my elbow when I use a mouse. Could forearm pain also be attributed to tennis/golfers elbow?

    Tennis elbow pain was covered in an older video by another guy here in E3Rehab. I searched all the channel's videos and I couldn't find this one or any other video with him. Does anyone know what happened?

    Is there a chance that the tendon can tear completely suddenly if i continue to exercise through the pain at the same intensity?
