This is actuly the first time I ever wrote a review or any kind of comment online. I have had tennis elbow for a year and a half and have tried everthing. I have had an appointment with a specialist and a couple different physical therpaist. After doing the ball exercise that you recommended my arm feels normal for the first time since I could remember. I cannot thank you enough for this video. I am incredibly grateful that you post such great content that helps people who need it. Thank you so much!
The ball thing is not a permanent fix. In my experience with shoulder problems, it can relieve the pain sometimes entirely, but it comes back. Do this in conjunction with other things.
Yeah its badass. Equivalent to a deep tissue massage in my eyes.
Adding kettle bell swings will help with a permanent fix but the ball will give relief while you correct the structural issue.
@@trevbarlow9719 Not suppose to be buddy just a relief
@@TheWolfCub71 doing kettlebell cleans is what caused my tennis elbow to come back after 10 years of no issue so you have to think of that too..
After watching 5+ hours of YT videos and consulting with multiple professionals, this is Best tennis elbow advice I’ve heard yet. I also appreciate his no nonsense approach to video making. This guy is the real McCoy 10/10.
Hi @Salvitore Gachione,
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the video clear and insightful. Best wishes, Ashley.
Absolutely agree 100%! I've viewed other videos (some very helpful) but this video is the total package - have liked/subscribed and bookmarked!
This is the best, most comprehensive and specific protocol, all while myth busting. Theres no where else to get the right information about Tennis Elbow on UA-cam. Thank you!
I wish I had found this video a year ago. So well articulated, easy to understand, and lots of info on potential pitfalls. Thank you.
You are most welcome! Glad you found the video helpful. Do let me know how it goes with the exercises. Best wishes, Ashley.
Infinite thanks! I just saw this video, and after viewing literally hundreds, suffering and having suffered from tennis elbow at two different times over the last ten years, I have no doubt this is the BEST and MORE HELPFUL tennis elbow treatment video I have ever seen. I’m not a guy that writes reviews, actually this is my very first review on UA-cam (been watching it for 15 years on a daily basis), but you truly deserve it for your fantastic contribution to my health, and to the health of many others. You went directly to the point, to THE point, with simplicity and humbleness. Congrats.
Cheers!
Thank you so much! It means a lot to me that you have written this comment and it makes me happy that you found the video helpful and hopefully it helps you overcome your tennis elbow pain (if you have it). Best wishes, Ashley
You're right. Tried a few videos but this this one is more useful and helpful. Thanks a lot.
I agree Zorba. Without a doubt, the best video on UA-cam to help eradicate tennis elbow. I just started doing some of the exercises and am feeling much better.
Thank you Anie I appreciate that and I'm really glad it helps. I wish you a full recovery. Best wishes, Ashley
Thank you Rich I appreciate your comment. I hope you manage to quickly overcome your tennis elbow. Best wishes, Ashley
It's crazy how bad this injury can be. After dealing with a serious case, I did 1 month no work with no use of either arm. Finally got to a 3lbs restriction and limited use, been that way for 3 months. I am finally starting to be able to strengthen my arm. I would recommend using caution working with physical therapy and not to push it to hard. Set me back I felt a couple of times. If your arm is sore, I'd recommend just message and stretch only until you basically have very little to no pain at all. Then start to introduce some weight. I'm 39 years old and work pretty hard and this completely stopped me in my track's. Also, another thing that helped was figuring out how to sleep with your arms somewhat in a neutral position. Figure this will take another 2 months of carful activity to hopefully not have it come back.
Wow, first thank you. I've had tennis elbow for 9 months and have seen numerous doctors. It's been a battle all year and I haven't been getting better and in a lot of pain. I watched this video and massaged my arm and did a version of the ball technique. The pain magically went away immediately. Like many others I'm glad I found this and am very grateful.
Thank You very much for this informative video!! started to get some inflamed right forearm muscles from increasing weights too early at the gym (been closed for months), baby step at a time I guess. Thanks again, I've learned how does that happen and what to do about it!
One of the best vids have seen on this. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much! Let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video on tennis elbow. I’ve been dealing with the pain since December and have tried physio therapy, acupuncture, ice packs, heat packs, arm braces, you name it.
Then I came across your video and have followed the first segment and I’m now pain free in just three days. Incredible!!!! I am now ready to move on to phase 2 and then 3.
I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you so much for this - I have early stage tennis elbow and all it needed was the massage to relieve it. I can now slowly build up the strength in my tendons using this video, and continue playing. So very generous of you to share this with us!

Your exercise routine makes a lot of sense, it particularly seems to me to be the one routine I need to aid the pain in the area, which at times is too much. Are there any effective remedies that I can apply on the days I do not exercise? If so, what would you recommend? The explanation is clear concise and to the point, therefore very easy to follow.Thank you so much!
Great comprehensive video that stresses don’t exercise/stretch the muscle while still in pain. TE is a serious lingerer so patience, not aggressiveness, is the absolute key.
It is very helpful when you use the muscle model for your explanations... please more of it !
Thank you! Is there anything else you want to know more about? Best wishes, Ashley

Finally I’ve found a video that full explains the condition and breaks the recovery down into 3 phases which seems absolutely the right thing to do. After having followed the daily exercises from NHS practitioner ( who hasn’t even seen me so based on a phone consultation) I now know why all i am doing is aggravating the condition ( exercises contain all 3 phases at once which is at odds with your view). After having suffered for 6 months I think I need to concentrate on phase 1. Thanks

This video is so well done! Thank you. I am sure it will help a lot of people. I will look on your channel for one about bursitis which is also an elbow issue that my husband has been diagnosed with.
Excellent video - thank you. I developed tennis elbow as a result of lots of ironing and clipping threads while making masks! I now work only 3 days a week (M,W,F) to give my muscles a break. I've had physio on my elbow and am now wearing a brace. I'm slowly starting the stretches and lots of icing and the pain is slowly subsiding. I have to keep working until we no longer have to wear masks here in Canada so I guess my question is, by continuing to work 3 days a week, am I doing more harm than good on the elbow even though it's healing. I'm hoping once the masks are done, my are returns to normal!
Thanks so much. I’ve been struggling with this pain for some time and it’s been a problem for me at work especially. Your video is excellent! The information you explain and your delivery is perfect. Thanks again for helping me.

Did you get well?
Did this ever work? Curiously, not many replies that it fixed their problem.
I have tennis elbow for the first time in my life. It’s been going on for a few weeks. I think it’s because I sleep in awkward positions which put a strain on my arm and have taken up knitting which has made things worse! I’m also a teacher and have been marking incessantly lately. I’ve been watching anything I can on TE treatment but you’re the only one who stresses the importance of the three phases, which other PTs don’t even mention at all. I started stretching exercises which have only increased the pain I’m in. I’m going to go back to the beginning and try to massage the pressure points first to deal with the pain. Thanks so much!
Hi Win. If you are experiencing any pain or your condition is getting worse because of the stretches/exercises, I would recommend that stop them and visit your doctor. Best wishes, Ashley.

This is really helpful. Thank you! I like how you break down the 3 stages. Stretching and strengthening have not been working lately and in fact, have made things worse. So massaging only for now is the solution for me since the area is so inflamed and painful. The way you explain the difference between rolling the ball vs. putting pressure on trigger points around the painful area has made a world of difference.
Hi @Gaëlle Gourgues ,
That's great to hear! So glad to hear the video proved helpful. I hope you continue to make improvements. Let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley.
The three phases you explained, and how to distinguish each phase, is what most of the therapists and even doctors miss.
I had the serious condition after playing extensive badminton. I rested as per advise from docs. But, wasn't explained what next. They were just prescribing medicines and rest, even after 3 months of facing the problem! Now I understand that what I've is just sourness and I should start with stretching and strengthing. Thanks!
Brilliant... really helpful 👍
Thank you a lot, I have both a tennis elbow AND a golfer elbow on my right arm, this helped. Anything to do for the golfer elbow?

This is a fantastic video, very clear with precise advice and very considered steps to take. Videos like this is why the internet can be so good and positive. Thanks you so much for this. I’ll get on with your advice immediately.
This was just what I needed! I'm a climber and started having lateral epicondyle pain a few weeks ago, took a couple of weeks off climbing and tried to rest it. The pain subsided but would just flare up whenever I did anything like picking up a kettle or even pinching a ziploc bag closed. Your point about massaging to relieve tension in the extensor muscles is brilliant; it just made 80% of my pain disappear like magic in 5 minutes!
Hi Jude,
I'm so glad to hear the video proved helpful. I presume you are in phase 1 so the massage and a cold pack will do you a lot of good. Keep on with the treatment plan and let me know how it goes. Wishing you a smooth recovery. Best wishes, Ashley.
Did the pain go away completely?
Did it fully fix your problem?
cheers. How about a stress ball - can this give relief and build up tendon strength by way of squeezing in different areas of the hand?
If you have any info lmk I’m 18 and I’ve been suffering with this for 2 years on both elbows and whenever I bend it my elbow bone moves and it’s really uncomfortable

I’m literally in your shoes. But the vid just started for me.
@@fadezs2620 I had to sleep with my arm bent, hand on my chest. I also had to wear an elbow wrap. I followed the video, now the pain is gone. The worse pain was in the morning.
I have a burning pain on the outside of both forearms, slightly "down" from the area you described in the video. My pain is constant, 24/7 even at rest. It didn't progress to being painful at rest, it started like that. In fact, it doesn't hurt more at use, but it "builds" up the pain, so that pain at use and at rest becomes worse. I've had this for over 4 months now with no change, except for that it goes up and down in "waves". It started from lots of Computer work in February. I can't find a painful point when I perform the stretches, and it's generally very hard to feel a stretch. My muscles are very tensed up in the forearms, and I've been unable to find any sort of relief. The constant pain quickly becomes unbearable for a few days if I sit at the computer for a few minutes, making life very difficult, as I'm a computer science graduate student... My doctor quickly labeled this as tennis elbow, do you think this might be something else, or can tennis elbow follow this pattern?
Look up Stretches and Exercises for your Brachialis Muscle. It sounds like this is what’s bothering you, if you extend your wrist or fingers and feel pain, it’s from the extensors in your forearm and Brachialis. Your Brachialis is engaged when sitting at a desk and arms bent at ~90deg. This deactivates the bicep and the stress is on that muscle and your forearm.
