Elmer's story is actually really sad. His mother was probably impregnated by her cousin when she was 16, so his uncle adopted and raised him. When he found out the truth, that his 'father' was actually his uncle, he went deep into alcoholism and then there were a mass string of deaths in the family. Criminal or not, it seems so unfair for him to have been disrespected so much in death.
Apparently the guy who created skeletor went to the exact funhouse ride mcurdy’s corpse was in and it inspired him to create skeletor. So mcurdy is indirectly responsible for skeletor
Just goes to show: if you die in a shootout, your corpse may go on a long tour of your home country, causing children 70 - 110 years after your death to be entertained because a television character was created with influence from your dehydrated corpse. ... This almost feels like a game of Madlibs.

The first story reminds me of what happened to Floyd Collins. He got trapped in a cave. Rescue efforts got a huge amount of media coverage and the area essentially turned into a carnival with people selling souvenirs and food. Floyd eventually died. His family were able to get the body out, embalm it, and give Floyd a proper burial. A few years later the family fell on hard times and the cave and land where Floyd was buried got sold to Dr Harry Thomas who PUT FLOYD IN A GLASS COFFIN FOR DISPLAY. He used it as a tourist attraction for a cave. One time, the body got stolen and was found in a field with a leg missing. The family eventually managed to get Floyd's body taken off display & put into a cemetery, >60 years after his death.

It’s incredible that people were able to trace a mummified and waxy man back to his roots of robbing train stations
McCurdy's body was the inspiration for skeletor, after the design artist's encounter with it at pikes amusement park (he was a child at the time).
That dude after seeing an actual corpse hanging from the ceiling : "jokes on you I'm into that shit"

Im watching old sam o’nella academy videos, can we just appreciate the fact the man introduces the sponsor at the video’s end instead of making us suffer watching it in the beginning?
I learn more on this channel than I do in school

Yep
I can imagine kids just running around Elmer Mccurdy’s dead body thinking it’s not real
Or have that one kid figuring out it's a real corpse telling everyone and then the doctors suggest to their parents to put the kid in a mentally ill hospital where they slowly lose their mind and die of suicide and then when everyone found out it's a real corpse realise that they sent a innocent kid to death.

kind of ironic that the actual dead man wasn't realistic enough to be a mannequin
Can't really properly wax a dead body after all. It was probably filled with cracks and the wax was drooping in some places.plus the hair probably wasn't too well 0reserved or looked like alive hair.
Because wax figures need to look live, which the complete opposite of a corpse. Probably why it finally got sold to a place that could use a corpse.
