I have been having trouble with my hips for over five years. So finally I went to a doctor they did x-rays and they said it was my hips and they said they could give me shots in my hips I did that it didn’t work. Then they took x-rays of my back and they said it was my back that was causing my hip problems so they said they could give me a shot in my back. I bowl and two of my bowling partners are physical therapists I told them about my problem they said Pilates. So I’ve been doing your class for a little over a month now and today was the first day I was able to walk around the block with absolutely no pain in my hips. I just want to thank you for taking care of my problem!
I also have the pain in my hips. Im a Pilates instructor. You just cant do some of the Pilares exercises thst youve been doing all these years. Especially situps and bending over touching your toes .. my dr reckons its the piriformis muscle thats the problem. I only have pain when I go for a walk .
I'm 72 years old, thought I was strong, amazed that I am not, great work out, some knee and neck pain, will explore different sites by Jessica to help with this, glad to be on board!
I've been following your beginner workouts for 7 weeks now and I'm completely astounded by how much stronger I feel in my everyday movements. I would brace myself for a dull ache or twinge when reaching down to get something out of the kitchen cupboards but I realised yesterday that while I was bracing myself for the expected pain, it no longer comes! I love how you conduct your videos, they're extremely instructive and motivational. Thank you so much ❤
A great therapist is clear in communication and not only gives demonstrations but always explains why and how. That’s exactly what Jessica does which makes me confident I am not going to hurt myself in the process. Also it needs to be said, the style of these outfits is effortlessly beautiful. All over inspiration, thanks Jessica!:)
Hi Jessica, I am a fairly fit 82yo grandma who has neglect her fitness for the last 2 years but happy to find Pilates. Thank you for your beginner workouts. At this point they are just what I need because I can’t believe how stiff I am! Thanks, looking forward to improvement working with your videos.
Finally, a video that actually teaches the beginner. I have been looking for so many beginner videos, but none of them tell you the why or the how. I really want to make sure I understand what I’m doing and that I’m doing it correctly. Thank you! I can’t wait to start.
I love Jessica's Pilates videos. I did Pilates in my 30s and just now in my 60s I'm getting back into it. I'm doing Walking videos and her Pilates videos and I'm down 24 pounds in four months. And I just feel so much better I can stretch. I can do a set up when I first started. I couldn't even roll up off the ground.
restarting my pilates practice and that was a great one to start with. Like that you give great cues but you also keep the workout moving so that people who dont need as many of the cues still get a good workout
Really appreciate having the commentary to ensure the movements are done correctly. Total beginner and will be doing this regularly. Great to have a little bit of everything - walking away feeling great!
I began rotating this video and two intermediate videos to do Pilates three out of four days. I've just added a third intermediate from your floor series and will now use a random number generator to come up with Pilates floor exercises to do three out of four days. My church began doing Pilates instructions for 45 minutes on Tuesday nights. This is a pretty robust and challenging set of exercises. Because I've been faithful to your program I do very well in these additional Tuesday night sessions. I'm 59 years old and ride a bicycle about 3,000 miles a year and find that this Pilates is great for my core and keeping me able to Pedal. Keep up the good work.
This was a good one I liked it. I was in physical therapy, and my lady I had told me to do your exercises that your a good one to go by and that you are a physical therapist. Thank you for being here
Easy to follow, clear instruction without unnecessary interjections - such as the Irritating & distracting ‘awesome’ common in many American workout commentary ! Every action fully explained, so that each movement is fully understood, and how it affects your body as you move. - Excellent Teacher.
I am 64 and although I have a.ways been active, I love that you are a physical therapist, and you simply pilates. I have also been overweight most of my life.
Yours are the easiest videos to follow along to, and your explanations are so helpful! I also love how inclusive you are of all levels and abilities. Thank you for sharing with us!!
I'm totally new to pilates and find your thorough explanation of how to breathe, when to inhale/exhale, and how to perform the movements so refreshing. I didn't feel rushed or lost at any point during this workout.
This was actually very helpful. I loved the fact that you kept talking because you explained everything perfectly. I'm looking forward for more videos like these
Fabulous introduction. I'm 54 this year and used to love exercise. Middle-aged and I lost my enthusiasm. Love your style of teaching. So personal and so informative. Thank you☺
Thank you so much! Loved it so much! I didn´t do Pilates for many many years. But this workout confirmed to me, that my body wants to be trained daily with Pilates. Feeling so much better now - and will jump into another video of yours. Best from Germany, Rebecca 🥰
I've been folowing your channel for the last two years and exercising with you and I like it more and more. You're a wonderful therapist, but also an inspiring presence! Thank you!
Thank you much. I did Pilates years ago but had injuries and. Surgeries and haven’t been too active since. I’m recovered now but have.a degenerative back issue. Your beginning Pilates is just what I needed! Thanks so much!
Love your videos! I just started back into Pilates after 20 years…I recently lost almost 75 lbs and now I want to tone my body…I do this workout every night now! Your videos are very easy to follow! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I had an illness that lasted for four years. I am now working on getting back my strength and flexibility. Slowly, I will be fit enough to go back to my hour Pilate classes.
Started doing this video 7 months ago and really enjoy it. You are a pleasant and knowledgeable instructor. Love how you include all the “nitty gritty” and reason to or not to do certain things. Getting ready to start Part 2. Thanks for sharing on UA-cam and Facebook 🙂
Thank you so much, this by far the best beginner Pilates videos that I have tried. I really appreciate your work, the details you provide and reasons “why”. Thanks again
It's been rough keeping any exercise regimen consistent since the onset of COVID but every time I "fall off the wagon" for too long and want to get back on, I start here. Thank you, Jessica!
I've just subscribed as having done this beginner's session, I loved it! I really like the way you explain why we're doing certain things. I'm 57 and not tried pilates before.
Hi! I am a 47 year old mom of 3, and have let life get in the way of my personal physical health. I used to workout before babies, etc., but have not chosen to make my physical health a priority. Today is day 1, and I just wanted to say thank you for making this video, as I was looking for something to ease me back into the game! I do appreciate it. :)
Thank you soon much. My Husband started Pilates and enjoyed your explanations and videos and so ive started with this video and love it. I woke up with a tight lower back and it's nice a loose now. Thank you again.Xxxx
You are my favorite pilates teacher and I just love your energy and personality! Thanks you so very much for all you do! You make me look forward to working out!
Beginner here. Found Jessica Valante on a search for yoga alternative and so glad I did! Great combination of knowledge here for those of us who have had fusions in the past.Thank you for these videos!
Thanks you so much for this beginner's workout. I have been doing Pilates for a couple years now. During COVID, I completely stopped because all fitness centres here (in Australia) are still closed. After 8 months, my back finally failed (it had been sore and bothering me). I ended up with two bulging discs - I NEVER want to feel that pain again. So, I decided to get back into Pilates but was afraid to do the exercises that I remember from our classes as I was too worried about pushing too hard at this stage. So, I searched youtube for a beginner's Pilates session and found you! Exactly what I was looking for!
Oh my word!! This was incredible. I just started doing strength training and today was my rest day but I wanted to keep schedule of being physically active at the same time and decided to finally try out Pilates and your video was my favourite one I found! I appreciate that you're a talker because it gave me reassurance and reasons for why I need to do it!! Liked and Subscribed!
This is the best workout video and I am just so excited that I found it. Thank you so much, I love your clear and concise instructions. Keep talking…🙏🙏🌺
So happy that I found you. I have wanted to try Pilates for quite some time now. Your instruction is approachable, kind, and just wonderful. I’m excited to get started on this journey. Thank you!
I had 5 surgery's in 2018 I'm finally ready. I watched your video and liked your style. Explaining the whys helps it seems to makes it easier to do the move if you understand not just what its doing but "why" Looking forward to beginning your class tomorrow morning Wish me luck! 😊
What a great workout! I have been looking for a good beginner pilates workout since the pandemic began. You explain positions so clearly and I love that you also give/allow modifications. Your physical therapist background definitely shows!
First time watching. I’m hoping to do this every day with you until I can move onto the next level! Thank you so much for helping me keep active during the shelter in place time.
Thank you for these wonderful beginner classes & taking the time to explain the proper way to do each exercise! I look forward to getting stronger & taking on some of your more challenging classes!
That was really fun, thank you! I had trouble with the movement where we are half laying on our side and making a circle with one leg - it was hurting my hips - my hip bones felt quite sharp against my mat! I was intrigued by the ab movement where you exhale and crunch - it really pushed the air out and made me wheeze and cough! It was a lot more of a workout than expected as I don't know anything about pilates - thank you again!
I started watching your videos and following along about a week ago and I already feel so much better! I have subscribed and I look forward to doing more exercises in the future. Thank you for these videos!
Thank you so much for posting this video and talking us through the positions. I found your explanations easy to follow and your voice is very relaxing.
Super loud echo on the mic but otherwise loved your video, you're a very positive person and you're very informative and a good teacher. Just getting into pilates myself, had years of back pain that no physical therapist or chiro has been able to address. Hoping this can start to help. Thanks for the free content
