Story 1 the wife didn't have a problem with the house and had never experienced anything before she ran into the woman. Her husband is right, sounds likes she easily suggestible and her husband knew that. She's def the AH for telling the children and turning this into a major paranoid event.

Story 1: OP sounds paranoid and her husband knew she would be paranoid.

Story one.... my "imaginary friend" came out of a cupboard ... we moved from the house and she came with me... pretty sure she was a ghost. I'll never forget my Hetta

Story 6- I wonder what it's like to have so many kids. We got a bunch of candy, dressed up with our dogs, and got 9 kids this year. We get around 40 on average

Story 2.....If it's private roads, then NTA. This is a huge safety hazard. It sucks for the kids, though.

Story 1, OP should've investigated first before listening to a complete stranger who is probably a jealous douche 🛶. Both OP and her husband have a right to feel what they want but they shouldn't drag the kids into this and just resolve it properly.

OMG, story 1 is so stupid, I love it. Sounds like an episode of a bad sitcom.

For story 4, the female character the best friend was going as is a lesbian character, the two characters in the show are actually judt best friends! So for me with the other context, makes op nta personally

Story 1. OP needs to grow up. It's bad enough they're dumb enough to believe in ghosts, but to scare the kids is messed up.

Well, as someone who's lived in two different haunted houses growing up... they're definitely real; but as a mom I would never scare my kids and tell them. When I was a kid my mom would tell my sister and I not to acknowledge it, and when we became teenagers and heard or saw something that was literally *impossible* we would look at each other in disbelief. They moved houses and I live with my husband now and nothing weird has happened which is nice, since I have two big dogs and a 3 year old daughter. But ghosts are real, sometimes you have to see it to believe it

story 9-- I mean it all comes down to whether you're cool with the whole "pranking strangers in public" genre of internet content? I personally think you shouldn't be bothering strangers but I guess it's a split issue. There's a major difference between paying to go to a haunted house and have actors scare you, and then scaring an actor as "payback" or something while the actor's on break. The actor's just a guy doing his job, I don't see why he deserves to be "pranked" any more than say... a cashier or a janitor. And from what I've heard being a scare actor at haunted houses is difficult, physically demanding, physically /dangerous/, and doesn't pay well. It would be a different story if he scared him WITHIN the haunted house, while he was working. But bothering a stranger because apparently with his career he should "expect" to be harassed even when he's off work seems kinda messed up.

Actually, I had a fractured elbow that I didn't tell my parents about when I was a teen. I did have slightly different reasons but I wouldn't put it past another teen to try not to bother someone with it

Totally wrong on the last one.
Scaring people is that worker’s job. His job does not entitle anyone to harass him on his break, with our without that guilty $20.
A friend who works haunted houses with her whole family has shared how people, especially young men, have become increasingly abusive in AND out of the haunted house in the last few years and it’s just not acceptable.
Way to dump on those perceived as less than.

Idk why the lady in story 1 told the kids that about the ghosts and house being haunted.

Story 8 - I dunno, I think OP does have some responsibility, because she is the adult snd she should have checked directly with her Mom instead of just trusting a teen. XD Also, I agree with you that she shouldn't be trying to control what decisions her sister makes about that.

Man sleeping under the bed story sounds fake. Did he sleep soundlessly? Is that even possible? No moving, no need for bathroom, no breathing deeply nor snoring, no farts? 🧐
