I had an amazing opportunity to be bale to borrow a kayak and get out away from people on the jetties and get lost in the marsh and it did not disappoint!!
It's great that you always look to the positive outlook position! Life throws a lot of curve balls at us, we just have to maintain our composure and FISH ON!
What a day. Loved the drone footage. A couple of years ago, I unsuccessfully stalked a massive black drum there, literally following it around in the trails. Like the red you described, it seemed to have no cares and dropped out of sight and back into sight enough for me to spot it and try again. I tried dead shrimp, gulp shrimp, and fish bites. If it could've laughed at me, I'm sure it did; it certainly didn't want what I offered. I was in a 10' kayak, and it was about half the length of it. It would've been fun to hook into it.
Great fishing trip, well except for your truck issues. Great that the towing company allowed you to park there for the night. Thanks for sharing your experience for that day. Keeping it 💯 and 👍 up bro
Sorry about the truck , I know how frustrating it can be . If you need a place to park it , I live about 8minutes from where you are and my wife and I would be more than happy to accommodate. On a happier note , excellent content as always . The light house trails are a great spot for daytime redfish and trout adventures. 👍
Love the drone footage. Your a awesome young man with a great attitude on life and the love of the outdoors and just keep it going and good thing are coming your way. Just a thought you should pick a time every week and live stream i just would love to here your thoughts on outdoors and life
a local told me that when you string up fish and are heading back to the parking area, to pull your stringer up into the kayak because porpoise in the channel will snag your fish on your stringer and could be trouble for you
Go check out the Aquos Pontoon / catamaran . You can put a 6 hour trolling motor and battery and you can stand on them … they are same price as kayaks but more comfortable …
I see you took my advice for Lighthouse Lakes... ;) It’s a great spot for kayak fishing, I was there two weekends ago. We’ve got a trailer (we don’t live there) in Lamar over by Rockport on the water, you’d have to go kayak fishing with us, it’s a very marshy area (St. Charles Bay) We’ve always had great luck.
Welcome to Corpus where our roads are sub-par and the fishing is great. I’m a nurse here as well. Been in the area for 11 years. Not sure how long your contract is but if you need some pointers let me know, also have a solo down here
@@KagenFishing there is quite a few of us that run solos, yaks and bigger boats. The port a jetties are stacked with reds right now. If you go to fisherman’s warf they have a boat that will take you to the north jetty for like 10 bucks. Way less people and better fishing.
@@KagenFishing At least you're working in an area with some amazing fishing, could be worse! teal season was fantastic, when you're back in the area I can show you how it's done!
I have been working in corpus for COVID response the past couple months. I should have a video to post in a couple weeks when I finally get a break. Thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
It's deep enough that the city's new ordinance was passed to prevent boats with motors bigger than 15 horsepower from going out there. Depth varies, as does what is there. If your boat is an inflatable, be mindful of oyster reefs and rocks.
gsppuffer Yah but it was also the level kit that was put on it a long time ago. It threw off the geometry of the upper control arms over flexing the ball joints causing them to fail. I have a surprise for you guys in the next video so stay tuned!
Man, I've been there......brings back memories.....thanks Kagen, you took it like a man!

A group of stingrays is called a “Fever”
Awesome video! I was in Rockport two weeks ago. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Dude I was just there (Rockport) Best time I had in my 52 yrs

That was an awesome close up, that red was huge!

looks like a great day out there to me. Thanks for sharing. 🐟
Love the video. Light lakes is one of our favorite spots. Sorry to see what happened to truck. Keep the good vibes going. Tight lines & buenos nachos.
Nice, this is in Aransas Pass, there is some world class fishing here.

Those marsh spots are beautiful man dang. Always with the pink hunchback haha
I threw everything else and nothing was eating so I said screw it and put it on. I actually haven’t caught anything on it in a while.

Awesome video bro. Really enjoyed the footage.
Nice bro! I head out there a bunch to fish. Usually go solo on my shallow draft boat. Lemme know.

That drone camera is rad!
I would love to fish there but I'm stuck here any Shipshewana site of La Porte way deep in the channel wishing I had a way to get out of
a school of stingrays? Nope... it's a fever of stingrays. LOL!

That’s a pretty accurate description of this place haha. Awesome to hear from a fellow nurse that also has a solo!

Way to stay positive !
“Fever” is a collective noun for stingrays.
love the videos, keep up the good work!
I live in Houston and have a place on Caney Creek, you should come out and try duck hunting next month!
I wanted to get out for teal season but got this job down in corpus so that went to back burner

Hey whats the crab like back in there ill be down there soon fishing tge spot your in and i have 6 traps ready to go and trying to find a good spot
Work on setting the hook a little better and you will catch more fish for sure! Cool video.
Awesome drone shots of the lighthouse man! What type of mic do you use attached to your head mounted GoPro?
A group of stingrays are called a fever
That’s the best name for a group ever!
Good videos. Where you been? Haven’t seen any new videos

I believe a group of Stingrays is called a dealership.
Redfish Incorporated that’s more like a group of sharks lol
Need to try some drone fishing..jjjjj
Show that bowtie on that vehicle leaving you stranded!! Just marketing baby.... nice fish though....!!😳😳👍👍👍🤧😷
What drone do you use?
Wow
I want to launch my Sea-eagle fish-skiff 16 there. Was the water level ok for a skiff?

Must've been a MOOG ball joint

Caught my best redfish off cut bait
If you ever plan on selling that truck lmk
Try the buggs lures
No clouds=high pressure=poor bites.
Yah I knew we were under a high pressure but when I get the chance to fish I fish haha
You ever throw any Buggs Lures?
Robert Smith I have a few and I should throw them more for sure.
@@KagenFishing in that situation, with the hesitant reds, I am confident they would have worked.
I’ve had a lot better luck changing out the hooks on that lure. Gamakatsu hooks improved hook sets
I was just fishing in that spot
Michael Daugherty I saw a solo skiff out there when I was there. I wanted to say hey to who ever it was but I was no match for the motor haha!
@@KagenFishing I was on a yak like you but I've been wanting to get a solo skiff for a while now
i know it says port aransas but it looks like aransas pass
I mean the city areas are literally 6 miles apart so when your in between the 2 does it make much difference
