Just found your videos and I really like the way you layout the techniques and positioning of your kayak points. I plan to put it to use here in my area at Christmas Bay Texas. 👍🏽
It's so fascinating to see you in the spots I know and love. I've spent many mornings cruising that edge throwing at active bait, swirling reds, and popping trout.
Great video Dean I am addicted to your video unlike any out there I have two questions have you modified your Tarpon 140 2nd question do you haul your tarpon in your Scout to back lake to fish back lakes
I have not made any modifications just add rod holders and crate behind the seat… And yes, on occasion, I do put the kayak in the boat to head to far away places
I am looking to head to the flats area near Port A for the first time since moving to Texas 1 years ago. No idea where to launch my 14 ft inflatable from from. Any suggestions?
question: have you tried doing the iikejime method for killing and de-bleeding fish. i would like to hear your thoughts. I listen and enjoy the BiteMe podcast.
@@slowrideguide We tried it last week on 5 reds and the it really made a difference. maybe you could try it and comment on your show. The blood was pumping out of the fish once when i cut his throat.
We never knew that flat had a name. Lol... We always considered brown & root flats that flat closest to the yard. And the other side we started calling it the "Yak Flats" cause it was always full of kayakers.
Wish I had know all of this during my Navy time down there. Had fun sailing my Hobie Cat on the ocean side but used to fish out there with my dad 50 years ago. We used top water lures but I can see under water lures have come a long way
Good stuff Dean. That’s a fun flat. Also like that you got into a little bit of the history.

Interesting how names of certain areas evolve… Sometimes it just depends on who you’re talking to
I will be searching for property in that area
Maybe port Aransas
or rockport
so is B&R flats the north or south side of hwy361? Ive fished both for several years , just didnt know the local name. thanks
It is on the south side of 361 directly across from the lighthouse Lakes trails
@@slowrideguide that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming sir.
