Back in the 80's and early 90's the Frio was such a great place to go. It was still off the radar for the most part. It never felt crowded. Sadly this place has become too popular and half the time the water is a little too shallow.

I bet it was awesome back then. Very crowded during summer now. Fall and winter are probably how it used to be. Not a soul in sight

Gorgeous. I have to be covered up when on the boat or I get sunburn like crazy. And I'm brown skinned but light. I have gotten burned on a boat before and ever since then, I completely cover up.
That river is spectacular. Love it!

@@GatewoodBrown dude, I had put on sunscreen, had my arms covered, and my legs and still got a blister on my arm. I'm the shade of Halle Berry. The nurse told me to be very careful, since I'm light skinned and that could easily be a 2nd to 3rd degree sun burn.
When I am in a boat or on the beach where the suns rays come down and reflect back up, I must be careful.
I have a special swimsuit, long sleeved and long legs, it's tested in an Australian lab on sun Ray's that are C rays. We never get exposed to C ray's, they break up before they reach the earth's surface.
My skin flips out so I can't be half naked on the water lol!
