    when i start to warm up at range i keep my feet together just as u suggest, keep back to target as long as possible, swing thru the ball.helps my timing and rhythm.not worried about hips, they seems to just come along for the ride.

    I knew it. I am new at golf, 43 years old, been playing for 6 months or so, every time i hit the ball in the most "natural" way for me to do it is mostly with the arms and using my wrist, then a took some lessons where i was told to rotate the hips more and more wich for me was way to hard. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, it gives me more confidence that i am not wrong and that actually i may play better golf staying comfotable with the way i swing wich is upper core.

      Thanks VM CC. The majority of golfers are upper core and the majority of golf instruction is for the mid-core player ie your average Tour player swing. You will play better golf when you find your natural swing. Keep Swinging!

      If you are upper core you can drop your back foot back a little with a closed stance and hit balls with your feet together. Keep Swinging!

    Larry, I was lucky enough to never have an instructor tell me to rotate my hips more. However, I was unlucky enough to try to model my swing after Ben Hogan from his book the "Five Lessons" and as you know, Hogan was a lower core player. My curiosity question to you is whether lower core players are able to maintain their swings play when they are seniors? It would seem to me that their games would fall apart when they naturally lose flexibility.

      Kevin, some low core players can maintain their swings however, Lee Trevino is no where near as rotated toady at 80, vs when he played the Tour. Doc Wright has said recently, that he is now using a mid-core swing when he was always a low core player.

    Might I add that a boat load of instructors in my region automatically try to get you swinging like Spieth or Thomas.
    People who come in for lessons get worse. But for some reason they keep coming back. I suppose if they fix them they won’t get additional revenue.

      @@LarryRinkerGolf absolutely. No doubt about it. What’s sad is if these instructors would teach the upper core swing people would enjoy the game. Now they can barely get off the tee box.

    Even though not rotating much as upper core, does one still need to keep the hips on the tush line vs early extended?

      Upper core players early extend and come out of posture. This is ok and a vertical ground reaction force.

    Larry. It's very interesting to look at Tiger's "new" swing at the Masters. Following his accident it seems he can no longer use pressure on the right leg/foot to violently fire the hips, so he now has much more of an upper body/arm swing. A view from the rear at impact shows his hips are barely open...in fact he looks a bit like you!

    You have lot off great content 👍 Most coaches just teach one way to do it and everything else is wrong. I agree that most tour players swings are too difficult for amateur golfers. However, if you have time and you are ready do the work, then maybe mid core swing is more accurate? You have less clubface rotation through impact. I mean there aren't many upper core players on the tour 🤔 Or is it just "fashion" and everybody wants to look like Adam Scott 😎💪😉

      If the lead arm and hand is in the correct place at impact, supporting the golf club, it doesn't matter how much club face rotation there is to be consistent. Same with the putter. I believe a lot of upper core players got "coached" out of their natural swing and we never heard of them. Yes, I believe the mid-core swing is "fashion" and that's why a lot of coaches only teach a mid core swing model. We all have to find what works best for us and most of "us" are upper core. Keep Swinging!

      @@LarryRinkerGolf Thank you very much for taking time to answer. You could be right 👍 One model don't fit for all. I watched your putting video. Very interesting. Same action like in fullswing. Offcource mini version, but similar release. Very similar like Butch Harmons inside down the line track putting swing ( i see yellow putting track also in your video? 🤔) Makes sense to use "same" swing from putting to full swing 👍 I will order your channel and looking forvard more exellent videos 🙂

    Great video. I worked for Bob Toski . Golf Digest School in the 70s. Nicklaus/ Flick school in the 90s. They taught arms , hands. Not rotate
