I would suggest, making sure the 6 E1's are installed properly, E1's are installed early in Section 5. Make sure P7 (Acrylic Tube) is filly seated, P7 is installed late in Section 5.
Hi, can you give me some pointers on how best to assemble a puzzle like this if I've never done it before? What is the best way to prepare it, what to look for during construction?
I think the advice I would give is to take your time and don't rush. Verify the orientation of the pieces that have printing on them, I have made this mistake a few time. Pay attention to when and where pieces should be waxed. Have a look over the instructions before starting. Should I think for more I will let you know. Should anyone else have suggestion please respond.

I'm stuck on the top twisting on after the lamp connector is attached. Can't get it twisted on after alignment. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

For the P1 movement piece at the very beginning, is it supposed to feel greasy? I can't tell if I need to clean it or leave it as is.
The gears on P1 may have a bit of grease on them. I would think you could wipe down any non moving parts.

does the light also shine when the lamp does not turn around?
The light will shine as long as the switch on the bottom is in the on position. The light will shine if the lamp is turning and if it is not turning.
