I am a single mother of 3 boys. My Dad taught me heaps of woodwork, and now I am teaching my boys. They love it. Not only are they learning a new skill, but they are also spending time with their brothers they are spending time with me. It gives them great memories as well. These are amazing, and now the boys want to do some of these. Thank you for sharing. We just came across your channel. We live in Queensland, Australia

@Jack Mack Woodturning Hi, yes we did watch that video and loved it thanks. We live from payday to payday due to the high cost of medical equipment and bills. We will be buying a few tickets on our payday. I have taught my boys how to make tools out of old files and made our own lathe out of a washing machine motor with sides of an old bed. It is a little ruff, but it does the job until we can afford the right tools.
@@JackMackWoodturning Hi I am so sorry we didn't get to buy any tickets due to me going to hospital again and some low-life scumbags broke into our home again and stole my wheelchair. TV'S, desktop computers, laptops, tools, medication and more. This is the 8th time in 5 years now. The police haven't found any of the criminals or our stuff. The criminals also broke into 4 other homes and 1 was a police officer house who has 4 biological children and 6 foster children, which he is adopting. They even took all four of our new adjustable bed bases and mattresses which are independent spilt system. CAELUM BASE with Asthma, allergic mattresses and 3 other single mattresses and 1 double mattress.

When I was a young boy my grand father had a shop in the woods near his home. He had a crud wood lathe where he did some wood turning. Nothing as elaborate as is being done here. He made a lamp and I ended up with it and although it is quit plane I cherish owning it only because my grand father made it. Watching this man make his craft reminds me of my grad father. I’m 77 now and my grand father has long since passed. I miss him but I cherish my lamp.

@@JackMackWoodturning there is quite a setting in my mind with the little boy watching the old man for what seemed like many hours doing his work. He was not a sentimental guy. When I went of to Vietnam he went into his cupboard and got a can a kippered snacks. A canned fish he liked to snack on once in a while, and he gave it to me. He said when I returned he wanted it back. He was sending me a message. There were two occasions where food ran short but I did not eat his gift and after a year in Vietnam I returned the gift to him. He just smiled and put it in his pocket. We were close. He died a month later. It was like he was waiting for my safe return.
@@JackMackWoodturning Love the colorful bowl that had a lot of black background with green& red& blue & purple & so on stripes. From the papers you used. Pretty!
If you invited me into your shop today and told me I could take one finished piece of work home for free, I would go home empty handed because there is no way I could choose! Your craft is beyond compare and you are truly a master. Anyone would be so lucky to own one of your pieces!
I absolutely love these videos I find them not only extremely relaxing but find myself wanting to get these tools and do this myself as a hobby. I love the feel, smell, and the beauty of wood.
Yes.....yes. I'm loving it now!!
You know what could be cool? Cutting wood like gemstones!
Gems can be a fake because they are made of glass.
@@kalynm2004 yes I understand. I meant cutting the wood in such a way that it looks like the shape of a Diamond or gemstone.
Do you have an idea of how to do that on a Woodturning lathe ??
@@JackMackWoodturning I’m not sure, maybe not on the lathe but instead making the rough shape on the lathe and using a chisel to do the fine cuts?
