gimbal follow focus gimbal tips zhiyun dji zhiyun crane 2 dji ronin s gimbal stabilizer - Фільми й анімація
Who else is using these methods? Let me know below!
I do because when I started I had only Rokinon prime cine lenses and the Zhiyun Crane version 1 I just figured out how to do the best with I have and of course edit out the bad shots.
I Struggle a lot with filmmaking and editting so your advise is really helpful
😎
im a beginner with cameras so can anyone clarify what shooting "wide" means? Is that shooting with a wide open aperture (f1.4 for example) or are you referring to something else, if so can you explain, thanks
Patrice X30 by wide he just means there’s more in the frame than just the subject. If you look at the scene with guy in the yellow hoody you can see his boys in the back and the house and even some of the front lawn. By shooting it wide and higher aperture it seems like everything is more in focus. As opposed to a shot where the subject is close and you can see more details of the subject himself
Just love the way you set up the lighting in your studio. It is so easy to watch with no distractions.
Got my first job today :) your tutorials are so helpful thank you very much ❤
Where'd you get a job at? You still there?
I love the tips. I used gimbals a lot when I first started to produce videos, but I recently have fallen in love with handheld this year. So I appreciate this tips to give some nice organic feels with a motor.
Thank you so much brother!
I *recently bought the flycam nano for my vlogs* and really needed someone to teach me this🔥
Lots of love❤
Fresh video! Focus peaking all the way
Dope video man, you've touched on this subject before during videos but I'm glad you went more in depth with this. Another tip I found useful is if your camera or monitor doesn't have focus peaking you can always digitally zoom in on your LCD screen and put your subject in focus before shooting. I tend to focus on my subjects eyes a lot and this method helps when you're subject is far away or you're shooting a wide shot.
Aye! I submitted this onto your IG story! I didn’t know any of those tips, so thank you for making this 🙌🏽 🔥
Great presentation. Clear, concise and absolutely accurate. You're teaching the basics to a large group of people who need to learn them.
I use focus peaking all the time when I shoot handheld or on a gimbal, it helps a lot. Great tips man!!
You're the first person I've seen advocating a smaller aperture - the extra DOF is important - even if you have to up the ASA or use lighting to compensate. Nice video. Thanks for posting.
The method to "shoot wide" is the biggest/best hack or pro tip. You actually mentioned this tip a while back in the video of how you setup your Ronin-M. Great advice! Blessing bro
Joshua Carruth im a beginner with cameras so can anyone clarify what shooting "wide" means which he mentioned in the video? Is that shooting with a wide open aperture (f1.4 for example) or are you referring to something else, if so can you explain, thanks
Patrice X30 shoot wide with respect to focal length (lens)
Patrice X30 - I'm going to agree with you on this. I never heard the term "shooting wide" before. I've heard "shooting wide open" which as you stated, refers to a wide open aperture. I'm thinking that he is referring to using a wide angle lens with an aperture which allows for the majority of the shot to remain in focus.
I checked his kit.com page and he has the Laowa 7.5/F2.0 lens which is a great wide angle/low-light lens and does match what I wrote above.
In conclusion, my interpretation of what "shoot wide" means is to get a wide angle lens, shoot at the lowest aperture which fits the theme of your movie while keeping the frame in focus. Easy!
It means a wide focal length on your lens. I use a sigma 17-50mm f2.8 and i keep it at 17mm for my "wide" shots
Patrice X30 “Wide” Angle Lense.
I definitely use the equidistant method when doing camera & subject movement with manual lenses. Great tip.
Working with a GH5s on a steadicam, this helps a lot, awesome video as per usual man!
Yo thanks for this really helped me to understand...keep up the great work brother
Great video bro. Good suggestion on setting your focus in the middle of your planned walking path.
Focus in the middle of the path! Brilliant!
I just got my Ronin S so I checked out this video. Really helpful stuff. You've got one more subscriber.

Focusing on the middle. That’s a dope method YC I will definitely use that in upcoming shoots.

good vid. To the point, concise, informational. Kudos
Great tips! Subscribed!!
Thanks for sharing!
I usually use markers and set up my focus then I know how far I can go in either direction before I’m outta focus
I sometimes use the equal distance technique (while shooting in 4k) and then digitally zoom in post so it seems as if I'm increasing/decreasing distance but I'm really not.
Works surprisingly well!
Everything well said, simple, to the point, well spoken. Awesome job!
Thanks for another great video.. your videos have always helped me... I've recently started using a Gimble, I noticed this exact problem last time I used it. Tomorrow when I shoot with a Gimble again, I'll put this video to the test...
Thanks again

These are insanely good tips!
Thanks bro, u've helped me alot, and i can see alot of diffrence in my shooting skills. More blessing brother.👍
Thanks! Very helpful video!
Nice one YC! Focusing from the halfway point of the path was our favourite one. We've experienced the back and forth hunting, especially with our wider lenses at the higher f stops. They tend to favour the highlights in the shot so we increase the aperture which helps out a lot. We're definitely going to try out all of these tips. Thanks!
Thank you for making this video.
that was a lot of help respect
Good ideas. Thanks!

Hey bro, that tip with focusing at the middle point of your path is an awesome tip man! Thanks!
This is fantastic advice. Thank you!
Thanks... its really helpful.
I grabbed a 180 dollar monitor recently with focus peaking and zebra lines. Bought it specifically for mounting on the gimbal but we end up using it for a lot more due to the features and vibrance of it; even shooting in log and without a LUT input. (Feelworld f570)
Thanks man! Very helpful
Awesome, thanks
Amazing tips!!!
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the knowledge!!
Good stuff man! I’ll definitely use these methods when I get a gimbal
Thank you, this was great and very helpful!
Middle of the path is a great tip. Thanks.
Great tips. Thanx!
Superb bro... Loved it.
Awesome tips man, and your footage looks killer! I use vintage glass so manual focus is the only way for me. But was I curious how to get it more stable. This method will open up a lot of possibilities for me!
Thank you for the tips bro
