I actually know who the woman in the pictures is, Sherri served with my brother. She's married to a hot guy her own age and they live together with their labradoodle. This has been going on more than 5 years and even Stars & Stripes, the officialUS military publication, wrote about it back in 2019

I found out bec I got an angry message on fb that I owed some guy money. I felt so bad for him but he knows now. I work in a store where we sell gift cards. An older man came in and asked to buy some gift cards and proudly showed me pictures of his young girlfriend in the military whom he was buying them for. I swear they were images from one of these profiles, might have been the same woman's image. I tried to gently warn him but he wasn't hearing it. We get older ladies do this too. We warn everybody.

I work in a store where we sell gift cards. An older man came in and asked to buy some gift cards and proudly showed me pictures of his young girlfriend in the military whom he was buying them for. I swear they were images from one of these profiles, might have been the same woman's image. I tried to gently warn him but he wasn't hearing it. We get older ladies do this too. We warn everybody.

Depend for the delusional fantasy and you’re paying for the phone sex they’re having with a scammer. Some of these people are spending the money that was meant for their children or grandchildren. They losing their homes that they could have passed on to their children instead they sell their home and give the proceeds to the scammers.
If they want to pay for a fantasy, it's cheaper to just go to a strip club. Or pay a cam girl. At least the women will actually talk and flirt with them in person or on live video chat and dance for him in exchange for his money.
