Exactly. It’s similar with the spelling and grammar errors that are done on purpose to know how far a potential victim is willing to go in overlooking the red flags. If victims pass that test, then the first impossibility absurd situation/emergency happens and if the person is willing to stay with them and maintain belief and even minimal support-the scammers know they’ve got someone they can talk into everything.
You might think so, but you're totally wrong. West African romance scammers are often quite badly educated, and they don't know anything about other countries themselves. The fact that she hired a private investigator, then once told it was a scam she went TO the scammer to "find out the truth" is genuinely mind boggling. I have 0 hope this woman will stop talking to scammers, in fact I'm nearly positive she probably called him as soon as this interview ended to "call out his lies" and in reality give him a chance to reel her back in.
We've seen it before here. Oh, I'll keep talking to him, but not gicve any money. Costs the scammer nothing to keep talking. Eventually they break down and continue sending money.
Because she can get ugly, old, fat, etc. guys. She can't get Chads. Notice how they all fall for pictures of guys way above their looks-match. Same with the men.
I have a person in my life being catfished. He refuses to believe this isn’t a real person that is in love with him. He’s sent thousands through cash app, bit coin, steam cards, and cash through the mail. This person is in the process of losing their entire family over this faker. I gathered every bit of info I could on the scammer and turned them into the FBI. I’m really hoping other people do the same, because I highly suspect he isn’t the only victim.
I wish you luck before more damage is done to your friend and the family they’re alienating. Maybe go to this channels site and see if they have other connection suggestions or sources of help? I’ve seen it mentioned in some comments that the FBI isn’t as helpful as we’d all hope they’d be in these situations.
Unfortunately, you can't get someone away from their romance scammer by 'telling them'. They have been programmed, like someone who insists on giving all their money to a televangelist. They can only be saved by being 'de-programmed'. If you have ever tried to de-programme a pastor's victim, or help an alcoholic etc. then you will know that it's a job for real professionals, and may need to be repeated several times before there is a long-lasting effect. For most people, a better cure is for family to take charge of the victim's money and give them only limited pocket-money so they simply don't have spare money to send the scammer. Even that can only work if the victim seriously admits that they are hypnotised by the scammer.
This person's stubbornness is what is stopping him facing reality. It's a common problem, made worse by sunk cost fear: the scam victim has already sent so much money, he just can't stop sending more, as that would be to admit that all the money he has already sent is gone forever. Of course he will have to face facts eventually, when all his money has gone, he is in debt, Tand he has ruined his family relationships as well, yet his 'love' is still nowhere to be seen.
@JHiggins67 "Annnd...How do you feel now that you've blocked him?" "(long pause...) Good? I...mean...I guess, right?" 🙄...😐 I would bet the farm that he was 'blocked' just long enough to snap the screenshot. She's addicted to the flattery/fantasy.
Wouldn't even require much work. Just create a chatbot to reply with the standard phrases that melt their hearts - "my queen", "did you eat", "how are you today"
I was told the same story about the car accident. The doctor called me and I had a strong feeling that it was the guy. The “doctor” told me that the guy couldn’t pay his hospital bill. I hung up because he threatened me. These scammers are sick.
The scammer being stuck on the "gay" part of the conversation is so hilarious; that is the part you're worried about when you're cosplaying another human?! Not the scam itself, smh.
@@CosmicSirenMandi I know, that is also why I think it's so funny, because can the scammer be MORE obvious. They are pretending to be a WHOLE other person, but then they take that comment personal.
Even a 2 aecond glance at the thumbnail pics on this video and I could tell a mile off they were photos hopped.. Also the passport pics are a dead giveaway- in the photo, he's ever so slightly in profile and smiling slightly. Noth things not allowed in passport photos - u must ne staring dead straight into the camera with a NEUTRAL expression. It also has to have a neutral coloured backdrop.
This lady is something else. She is proud of dating men as young as her daughter and even younger? I don't know, that just really rubs me the wrong way. She needs to set foot in reality and acknowledge that the men interested in her for a long term commitment are gonna be men her age, not younger college students or online millionaires that call her "my queen".
Yeh she acts like she's superior and is evasive on some of her answers. If she has no issues getting men in real life, why is she online looking for love? She's just fishy herself...
I don't think her kids stay in touch often lol I would be pissed if my mom dated some guy old as me 😖 I can understand maybe be 10 years younger but nothing more lol
I don't understand why a man asking for money wouldn't be a red flag when he started off representing himself in the beginning as being in a good place financially. 🤷🏿♂️
If he’s rich he doesn’t need money. First red flag. You don’t sell products thru 3rd party individuals. They have to have a LLC or something as a recognized business you can check on. I remember when I was a young teenager I found an ad saying addressing envelopes from home to earn lots of money and I replied. The next letter said send $10.00 in cash and when we receive it we will send you a list of companies you can contact. I knew at my young age that it was a scam. This woman is so immature.
He lives in Liverpool, London. Liverpool a port city is 250 miles away. People in England don’t have ID cards Nobody says “my Queen” “My love” At this time England was in the European Union and no goods from would get stuck at customs. It’s pounds not dollars, UK banks would have sorted out his bank account over the phone. It’s not 911 but 999, He supposedly has half a million pounds in his account but yet cannot afford a cheap flight from Italy to London, She wants to know if he’s real? The biggest question is how gullible a person can be? Good grief.
Obviously she's pretty gullible. I had a customer who was scammed, and she gave them so much info, her bank info, social, and a lot more. I asked her if she gave her debit card number and she got offended and said, "I'm not stupid!" And I had no words... (Honestly, I always felt she wasn't very smart)
my boyfriend is English and he calls me "my love". I think that in your context, it should only really apply as a red flag if "my love / my queen" is accompanied with "could you send me gift cards?" 😂
Exactly! When was the last time a Doctor answered personal cell phones in a patient's room? They are in and out, they barely have time to tell you what's going on!!!
It's amazing, when these men are in horrific accidents. They post pictures of them smiling and not a single mark on their faces! That's some divine intervention!
Absolutely, well said...the minute she said that I knew she was 'neck-deep' in this fantasy. 'Cougars' have to pay for attention and affection out here in real life, so I bet she gets scammed out of her cash from real young guys out here as well.
She likely had younger men mooching off her previously most younger men wouldn't want to stay with an older woman for long it's usually always short term or random hook up. Rarely if it's long term, she was likely grooming from a teenager or young adult.
“I’m an Importer / exporter “… it’s a red flag when you take a career cue from George Costanza (one of the biggest liars in TV history). “Remember, it’s not a lie if you believe it.” -George Costanza
I used to work for this catfishing service years ago, and we I had this long time customer with one of our models who "broke up" with her because he said she was too immature, but it was all still just the same people (me) running the girls, so we just got him again right away the exact same day with a new model and he stayed for years hahaahh
You know one thing I've noticed, if the person getting scammed was attractive in their younger years and got alot of attention ,as they age they still have that mindset . They don't seem to mature in that way.
It's interesting to watch that stuff happen in real time, I have two friends who are getting older and cannot accept the fact that they are now getting rejected. They're not used to it, and their reactions are nuts and quite often very mean.

She is 100% getting a cut of the money she is muling. Her whole vibe changed at the mention of a police report. That’s why she was crying, and that’s why she is still in contact with him.
@@ladyofargonne Actually, most money mules get to keep a portion of the money they receive then they send the rest of it on to a bitcoin wallet. I can definitely imagine a victim so desperate to recoup some losses that they operate as a money mule while getting a cut of the action.
@@ladyofargonnemost mules do keep a portion of the money. The scammer says something like “oh keep $X for yourself” or “take what I owe you out of that” or “you’re part of my business now so I’ll pay you outta that”. She's not bad, but she does look like she could gain weight easily. I am sure she has at least one decent man in her circle She's ignoring over this fantasy.
A lot of times the victims try to play coy and humble by the initial strong feelings towards them from the scammer, but secretly they’re elated and the connection greatly intensifies and that’s how the fake trust is built.
Wait....he lives in Liverpool, London?? As a Brit who lived in the US for 15 years I am constantly amazed at the level of ignorance about simple geography. Liverpool is a city. London is a city. Liverpool is not in London!
Let us be realistic here. You have lived in the states. You’ve become familiar with the states. If you went and grabbed an average person in England and tossed a US map in front of them, most wouldn’t know the states. Liverpool is known but not as known as London. As in people in England wouldn’t know that Chicago is in Illinois. It’s not really weird that people aren’t familiar with another countries map. You know your own.
She shook down her own mother for money to send to someone she never met? She's so dumb and clueless about everything - Liverpool, London? London money? - I almost feel sorry for her. Not really. "Why would he lie to me about anything?" Take a guess. Take 15,000 guesses. And she kept on talking to him!! Waste of time to help her.
When the Scamfish guy told her, "...I think you know which direction this is headed in, don't you?" She answered, "...the United States?" Easy pickings for a scammer.

It doesn't go unnoticed that not all but a lot of these people definitely have a overly grand ideal of themselves... Healthy self esteem is one thing but...
It is funny when they say they don't have problem finding boyfriends/girlfriends, but they easily empty out their bank account to send to a stranger 😂😂😂 I have no sympathy for these "victims". It is also interesting when they say "I never did online dating, I was approached somewhere else. I was not looking for dates"
I really don't do online dating and yes, I was approached from somewhere else, specifically a Judge Judy video I had commented on. He commented back and we actually had an interesting conversation. I knew enough to not send money to a text. I had a couple more approaches and I think they were all on FB. But I still get a lot on Quora and, well mostly there.
Huge respect to every victim who follows through by reporting the crime to the police. These sociopaths count on their victims being too humiliated, scared or embarrassed to go to the police and they continue to carry on.

I once commented online on a video discussion modern urban infrastructure’s inability to deal with increasing traffic that I hate driving to Britain from the continent because you hit traffic in every country along the way and often, multiple rush hours. Addicted to love and feeling wanted.
They just need to read more romance novels😂
This reminds me of the movie 'Surrogates' with Bruce WIllis. People in pain, lonely and desperate would thrive in that type of society.

Those stock photos are hilarious. Cannot believe that people fall for them.
I've been there.

And in the picture, he has one broken leg and smiling lmao
Scammers have to say they "love" you, because they need you to be emotionally committed to the "relationship" before they start asking for money.
I’m glad his doctor answered his phone and gave her his medical history. Why can’t all doctors be this helpful? 🤦♀️
It’s actually not unusual for medical staff to answer the phone of an unconscious “John Doe”.

The fact that she hired a private investigator, then once told it was a scam she went TO the scammer to "find out the truth" is genuinely mind boggling. I have 0 hope this woman will stop talking to scammers, in fact I'm nearly positive she probably called him as soon as this interview ended to "call out his lies" and in reality give him a chance to reel her back in.
and sent him money for food
A good scammer has an excuse for everything and a scammer believes him
We've seen it before here. Oh, I'll keep talking to him, but not gicve any money. Costs the scammer nothing to keep talking. Eventually they break down and continue sending money.
Sadly, I think you’re right.
She's probably hoping he still might pay her back..
Why all these people always say they don’t have problems finding “guys” or “girls”?! But gets caught up in dating scammers from the internet 🙄
Deluded and afraid of getting old. She won't accept her age and to leave her younger days to the young
Because she can get ugly, old, fat, etc. guys. She can't get Chads. Notice how they all fall for pictures of guys way above their looks-match. Same with the men.
They want someone way out of their league
Why they don't they check with social catfish before sending their life savings to a stranger ?
@@lizzinessbibi7202 you are so right lol
I hope things have had progress in the time since you wrote this. ❤
0% chance she didn’t unblock him once they got off the call.
"Did you block him?" Pause. "Yeah (rising in pitch)." No, ma'am. No, you didn't.

Wouldn't even require much work. Just create a chatbot to reply with the standard phrases that melt their hearts - "my queen", "did you eat", "how are you today"
Even if this guy were real, he can't manage his finances and expects people to bail him out. Red flags.
I was told the same story about the car accident. The doctor called me and I had a strong feeling that it was the guy. The “doctor” told me that the guy couldn’t pay his hospital bill. I hung up because he threatened me. These scammers are sick.
😂😂😂
The scammer being stuck on the "gay" part of the conversation is so hilarious; that is the part you're worried about when you're cosplaying another human?! Not the scam itself, smh.
Most people in most place in Africa are not accepting of any homosexual relationships. That's also a sign of scammer too
@@CosmicSirenMandi I know, that is also why I think it's so funny, because can the scammer be MORE obvious. They are pretending to be a WHOLE other person, but then they take that comment personal.

And they are often shown smiling in their 'passport' photo. You are told not to smile in most passport photos.
Totally agree, she's got a bit of a hit for herself + shouldn't!! Find the cougar thing creepy!!

I don't get that isn't that a 101basic.
That would be a deal breaker for me. Not giving a stranger money based on sob stories

He lives in Liverpool, London.
Liverpool a port city is 250 miles away.
People in England don’t have ID cards
Nobody says “my Queen” “My love”
At this time England was in the European Union and no goods from would get stuck at customs.
It’s pounds not dollars,
UK banks would have sorted out his bank account over the phone.
It’s not 911 but 999,
He supposedly has half a million pounds in his account but yet cannot afford a cheap flight from Italy to London,
She wants to know if he’s real?
The biggest question is how gullible a person can be?
Good grief.
Obviously she's pretty gullible. I had a customer who was scammed, and she gave them so much info, her bank info, social, and a lot more. I asked her if she gave her debit card number and she got offended and said, "I'm not stupid!" And I had no words... (Honestly, I always felt she wasn't very smart)
@babet...Men in Liverpool call their mothers or girlfriends Queen....Its always been so
I bet this woman always has played the victim
my boyfriend is English and he calls me "my love". I think that in your context, it should only really apply as a red flag if "my love / my queen" is accompanied with "could you send me gift cards?" 😂
No lawyer, doctor, bank, relative etc of your online boyfriend is EVER GOING TO TEXT YOU FOR HIM. THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS.
That is highly illegal.

As soon as she admitted to being a cougar, I saw her problem right there. She fell for such an obvious scammer.
Exactly. It's pure cringe when they say as well as I'm not easily fooled.
The sad thing is she looks very good still at 54 and she is attractive. She needs to have more self confidence and respect.
I don't go out thats the problem
having to bleep her name out but plastering her face is almost as funny as her thinking liverpool is in london.

Faking the accident real time while on a call is something new. I never heard of that anyway. Good for him for innovation anyway.

In the UK 999 is mostly used but 112 can also be used for emergency services. I have googled it and 112 is also used in Nigeria😅

I once commented online on a video discussion modern urban infrastructure’s inability to deal with increasing traffic that I hate driving to Britain from the continent because you hit traffic in every country along the way and often, multiple rush hours. Some random person kept arguing in my comments section that you can’t drive to the UK. I was tempted to ask what century they were living in, since the Chunnel has existed for over 30 years at this point. They kept accusing me of being a scammer trying to pick up people. Incidentally, I still hate driving to the UK 😂.
Weren't the Ruttles from there?
She failed to state if she benefitted financially from providing her money mule services. I'm pretty sure she did, hence the reason she did not want to go to the police.
I'm guessing no as she said she could lose her and her Moms house.
She should have put that 15K towards the mortgage.
