He played a good match, but it is only three games of good performance against someone he has studied to play against very well. And wang seemed to be playing at 50% lets be real, not to lessen the achievement but simply stating a fact. Lind is still nowhere near spotlight number one, just another of maaany very promising talents. Some super strong players are stating to appear this year, and China is feeling it.

This is big. Wang Chuqin doesn’t have any excuses now. No broken racket. I feel like wins like that will give more confidence to other players when they’ll face off Chinese players. Truls’ win wasn’t a fluke it’s actually possible to beat the CNT.
Have to say as a viewer, since his 2nd or so serve Anders is bringing crazy variation. Like starting with a tomahawk within the first game is unorthodox. Everything from serves to speed to when he blocks, but still brings power when he needs it. It just feels 'weird' compared to the normal China playbook of pure offense.
Thats's the way to beat wan chuqing. Spin, tempo changes and spinny pushes in combination with good reactions. I think wan chuqings only strength is his speed. He has nothing more to offer.

The table tennis Sport is evolving into a very offensive style of playing style wich is good. But the creativity of a truls or anders should Dominate the Sport. I got slated on another thread for stating the chinese robots, meaning orthodox, highly trained, highly drilled, struggle against players who are the antithesis of robots. The match was Alamyan v Lin Gauyuan and the Iranian ran him close. Moregard v Wang Chuqin was my other example. I'm about to revisit that thread and say " told you so!" 😂😂 Nice one Anders!
So far, we've learnt that the only possible way to outplay Wang Chuqin is by breaking his rhythm. Anders Lind tactfully combined variations in speed, spin and timing in each shot and played every ball differently, providing very little time to Wang Chuqin to adjust, learn and adapt to Lind's style of play.
Basically, FZD is the last great Chinese player that came out of the dominant CNT dating back from Kong Linghui/Liu Guoliang. Everyone else isn’t up to the challenge except maybe Lin Shidong.
