Thank you for pointing out the oneness of the Father and the Son. I've been struggling with seaming to emphasize the Father in my life at what I feel is the expense of the Son but seeing them as one makes me feel much better. Thank you for lightening this burden.
I had an experience this week where I had to turn things over to the Lord. I have to keep reminding myself to do that. During your lesson, I thought that experience is one way we can let the Lord gather us "under His wings."
John you are an amazing teacher!! This is another great class. Thank you so much for teaching us all so many wonderful truths about the Savior and his gospel!
I really appreciate your lessons. Thank you for pointing to the silent lesson as well. That was a blessing to me this week.I love that last reminder of spreading the truth in this video.
There are so many lessons in this video and I love how you brought out each one! I was so touched when you taught the one by one part! You asked us to remember times in our lives that we've felt being the one! My mind was flooded with memories that I've experienced in my life. Thank you so much for this sweet reminder and how it makes me feel closer to my Heavenly Father. 💕
I came across a song by Hilary Weeks on my mission called One by One. 😢 ' He heals one by one, He loves one by one. When the crowded world around us doesn't know your name. He knows us. One by one'. Something like that. It's beautiful.
Hearing the experience from Elder Bednar reminded me of a time I met one of his predecessors in a similar situation. I was working in a pharmacy in downtown Salt Lake when Elder Richard G Scott came in to purchase something. He is not a very tall man and our counter was elevated. I couldn’t see his face from the far end of the counter where I was working but I recognized his voice. I immediately left my task to meet him. His response to my quiet thanks for his talks and articles still leaves me with awe. With the utmost humility he thanked me and said that he would try to do better. I’m not sure if he misunderstood me or why he chose those words. What I DO know is that I have never felt such an outpouring of love from another person in my entire life. He truly represented Jesus Christ that day. For a struggling returning member it helped get me back. I couldn’t help but think that the feeling I had was just a tiny portion of the love that Heavenly Father has for me. That’s powerful to someone who grew up convinced that even her earthly parents hated her.
I’m listening from Lubbock, Texas. I’m grateful for God granting you the talent and spiritual insight of a master teacher. Thank you for the time you dedicate in helping to lift the hands and strengthen the feeble knees. Today I was touched by your comments counseling us to not separate the Father and Son. As a young adult and young mother I somehow assigned Christ all the mercy, patience, and compassion, and assigned our Father with absolute exactness, jealousy, and anger. Through the Holy Ghost and by studying conference talks (especially by Elder Holland) I began to see my error. And, then as I began to better understand, our gracious Father provided further experiences that helped me to see HIS mercy, patience and compassion for me individually. He revealed His love for me in powerful ways I have never forgotten. As a result, my confidence in coming to him increased and I felt more sure of His acceptance of me as His beloved child. Anyway, thank you again. I receive much through the Spirit from your teachings. May God bless you for your efforts!
Amazing insights! I have been pondering how to better submit my will to the Lord .easy to say, harder to recognise that animal inside to be sacrificed.
I noticed that you really practice one by one. Every time I’ve left a comment with a question on your videos you always respond. I imagine that’s a huge task when you have a lot of comments so thank you very much
Thanks James. I was recently at an event and I was one of 1,000+ people standing in a line to meet this one person and he greeted everybody one-by-one. It was really inspirational!
Between Elder’s Holland quote and you comment based on the question on 33:26, I want to thank you because I always wondered that if I pray to Heavenly Father how do I build a relationship with Jesus Christ if it’s not he who I pray to, and not to mention my closeness to the Holy Ghost. Your comment was very helpful (33:44 timestamp). Thank you.
I love listening to your podcasts because you fill every moment with doctrinal insight and testimony--in other words, you maximize your podcast by focusing on doctrine and helping feed His sheep. Thank you so much!
Brother Hilton- I always appreciate your insights and your testimony! Studying 3 Nephi 8-11 this week has caused me to really ponder over why Christ causes this great destruction and how that can be consistent with his loving and merciful nature. I think the Lord puts a full stop to wickedness that is spiraling further and further out of control. If anyone understands the cost of sin, it is Him. It’s like cutting up the credit card after a certain point. Also, life has taught me that there are worse things than death. Death is the deadline but maybe death is the max “debt line”.
Elder Bateman April 2006 Ensign : " Jesus invited the multitude to arise and approach Him one by one, to thrust their hands into His side and feel the print of the nails in His hands and feet. Remember, there were 2,500 people. How long would it take for each person to approach the Savior, feel the print of the nails, touch His side, and perhaps receive a brief embrace? Suppose it took 15 seconds per person. The time required would exceed 10 hours for the multitude to fulfill the invitation. Why did Jesus do it one by one? Would it not have been just as effective for Him to show the multitude all at once? The answer is no! Salvation is an individual process. Ordinances are conducted one by one. Every individual’s faith counts." ❤
Always amazing! When I pray I say “Father in Heaven” and conclude “in Jesus Christ name”… I’ve always prayed to Heavenly Father, ending in Jesus name. I noticed how my father opens in prayer and follow his example. It keeps them separate, yet together-if that makes sense. All prayers matter! 🙏🏻 ♥️ ♾️
Again, I'm very grateful for your wonderful teaching and invitation to ponder the important things of our Gospel, meaning, the life and teachings of our Lord and Redeemer Jesuschrist. Thanks brother Hilton!!!❤
I wonder about this sometimes too - mainly how on the one hand the Lord commands us to be modest and humble, not aspire to wealth, high callings in the church, etc., but on the other hand describes a core feature of heaven to be exaltation, ruling over great dominions, worlds without end. Doesn’t sound like me when I can’t even keep my garden alive.😄 But a few experiences of my life have taught me to be still and wait on the Lord’s timing to have these things explained by the prophets. That may ring hollow at first, but keep in mind that the restoration is ongoing, and that if we took what we know today back to the restoration’s early years it could have been too much too fast, not suited to the concerns of that time, etc. And that the Lord loves each of us, one by one. He is perfectly loving and gracious, and only wants us to pass the test of this life and return to Him and be happy for good. I’m sure there is a meeting of the minds on this as we continue growing in eternal life. I also recommend aiming for the highest degree of heaven - just in case. I’ve had buyer’s remorse a few times as well, and I would surely be miserable if I found out at the end that I should have kept that option open because it turned out to be absolutely the way I wish I had gone, but now it’s too late. Keep your options open my friend!❤
We are all to peel away the brainwashing of the world and submit ourselves to Jesus Christ and his teachings. And our Heavenly father's Commandments. Thus we become as little children. What's purity of thought and unconditional forgiveness unconditional love charity for all and praying for those who spitefully use us

I find your podcast so insightful. I listen to it every week. This week I loved the story of the hen gathering her chicks when a hawk was circling. It was very vivid and real. Is there a possibility of getting copy of that story? Do you available transcripts of your podcasts?

I think what is awesome, and this is not the first time that the Savior has been documented holding a sword and going into battle. In the Old Testament in Joshua 5:13-15 encountered the Lord outside of Jericho with a drawn sword in his hand and after Joshua asked him if he was for or against them, the Lord introduced himself as captain of the host of the Lord, and then asked Joshua who now had recognized the Lord and bowed himself to the ground, and the Lord asked him to remove the sandals from his feet that he was on sacred ground.
One day, I hope, to have that one on one experience with the Savior.

42 years of this earthly experience has made me realize that I wouldn’t be comfortable in the top kingdom, and I’m fine with that.
What is it that you hope for in the next life?
