Just made these today, and let me tell you they were amazing(tasted identical to the ones at Starbucks). Eyeballed the frosting but added two spoonfuls and also added mini semi sweet chocolate chips. They were so good and my whole family enjoyed them and asked for more. Will definitely make again soon!! 10/10
If you want to make your cake pops a little richer and dark chocolate-y I would recommend adding a tablespoon or a little more of cocoa powder (sifted) in the cake batter to give it a darker taste. I'll be trying that and definitely will update when I can!!!
Hi Lydia, you're looking well ! I'm amazed that Starbucks is so busy over there, we have them here too but I've never seen queuing up like that. Your cake pops look very nice and I'm sure they're worth waiting for too.
Thanks Matt! Oh Starbucks over here always has a line, it's so frustrating. It's funny to hear that you guys don't have lines at Starbucks, that would be a dream over here 😁
Hey girlll, First, I just wanted to say I love youuu. I've been watching you for wayy to long and you're just so much fun. I hope you're baby boy will be happy and healthy. And second, I have a bunch of box cake mixes but unfortunately some of my family is vegetarian and for a birthday I was going to make these amaazing cake pops for everyone. I've checked out many things online saying to use yogurt or something else. Do you have any advice? Love you
Hi Manvi! Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words 💗🤗💖 Ooo that is a bit tough.... if they are just vegetarian you might be safe because I'm assuming they just don't eat meat which shouldn't be in any of the ingredients for the cake pops. If they are vegan that is a bit more challenging because you'd have to make sure there isn't any animal products in the cake mix, frosting and chocolate candy melts and the best way to do that is make everything from scratch or go to a vegan store and buy vegan ingredients and test everything out to make sure you can successfully make them for the birthday party.... if you are trying to avoid the eggs, you can try substituting them with yogurt, unsweetened applesauce or even ripen banana but again, I'd test it first to make sure it works. Hopefully this was somehow helpful, it's tough baking for people with different dietary needs. I wish you the best of luck! ❤
@@LydiaApril omg ty sooo much for replying 🥰🥰🥰. I made the cake pops, a HUGE success. Everyone loved them. Big thanks go to you. I used plain yogurt to substitute the eggs and followed all the rest as instructed and they worked out perfectly. Tysm 😘😘😘 hope you’re doing well and the baby’s kicking 😄

My 5 year old daughter eagerly wanted to make cake pops. I tried this recipe today on daughter's day . Of course my little girl was so excited to help. They came out so very awesome, perfect and delicious. 👌😋😋😋 Can't thank u enough for such an easy and full proof recipe and make this beautifulday so special for us. .🙏😀👍
Hello Lydia! The pagan here, again. (Odin before Jesus) A very important thing, in these troubled times: different opinions and still "working together"? Yes! It should be possible. But that is politics. Sure gonna give that a try. Idea: finely chopped marshmellos in the mixture might make it extra fluffy (family secret even with cup cakes). Plus an icing that my grandma used to make: gently stir in some lemon juice into powder sugar. It should be really thick. Some of the moisture will evaporate. Some will be sucked up by the dough. But it creates a nice crispy crust after a few hours. Well: lemon and chocolate? Not the worst! I've been out in the woods today to harvest mushrooms. With 2 recipes in mind: small mushroom dumplings to add to a soup. And mushroom "meat" balls. A polish recipe. Would you be interessted in those? I'm making dumplings from just one sort of mushroom at a time. So I can add dumplings into a soup that all taste just like that particular mushroom. (Thinking of christmas, already. To create something special.) I cook, vacuum and deep frezze them, right now. Dumplings can be magic! And to create a variety of 'em is a goal for me. Like, also: parmesan or bone marrow dumplings. That would make 5 different ones, so far. Greetings from the far north of Germany!
People can definitely get along that have different opinions, just like we do 😁 Yum, you are making me hungry with your recipes and I have actually been thinking about making some dumpling soup because the weather has been getting chilly here and it just sounded good. Might have to try something with mushrooms and dumplings now that you mentioned it 😁
@@LydiaApril Some should learn from us: spread the love, increase the peace :-) (John Quilter. aka Foodbusker on YT) For the mushroom dumplings: fry some 50g of mushrooms in 15g of butter on medium low heat for some 15min. (Yes! THAT long! Most mushrooms are toxic, when raw. The heat will break it down. Only a few mushrooms can be eaten raw. Like white mushrooms and boletus edulis. Here, I'm talking about "most" mushrooms.) Let them cool down to room temperature and finely chop them. Next, you wanna whisk up 30g of room temperature butter and add 1 egg, 10g of starch, your mushrooms and about 40g of breadcrumbs. Just to a desired consistancy (size of egg matters). Let that sit for some 30 min. Prep some salty water to cook it. It should be just at a simmer. The dumplings will drop the temp. Just fiercly boiling water will destroy your dumplings. Make small dumplings. The breadcrumbs in the mixture will make them grow. Bon apetite!
@@peterdoe2617 Love it how we celebrate what we have in common than what's different about us; African freethinker here. I'm down with anyone who loves good food. Bone marrow dumplings sound divine! Next time I'm making chapli kebabs I'll save some marrow for that.

Hi Mrs. Lydia! I'm a very young baker, and I followed your birthday cake pop recipe and they came out AMAZING! They came out so good that I'm baking the chocolate ones to see if they come out good as well. I do have one question though. In your birthday cake pop video, after you took the cake out of the oven, you put it in the fridge overnight. Could I do it with this chocolate cake as well? I would like them to be as moist as possible. Tysm for your amazing videos!
Made these today for my birthday and absolutely loved them! Definitely going to be saving on spending from Starbucks. Thank you! Melting chocolate is definitely the most time consuming. But overall, so fun and easy to make. Thank you!
Hi there, just one question... Can I use cream cheese or butter or a combination of both instead of adding frosting to the mix? Newbie on cake pops here.
You can try the cream cheese, the flavor will be different. Don't use butter, I'm not sure that would work. Wishing you much success at making cake pops! 🙂
