    • @SimplyHomeCooked
      @SimplyHomeCooked  5 років тому +6

      Thank you Valeria! I store my cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for about 2-3 days for best taste. I don't keep them refrigerated since they tend to collect condensation which makes them slightly wet on the outside. I hope you enjoy this recipe! :)

  • @breaker__
    @breaker__ 5 років тому +1

    Starbucks cake pops are quite a doughy consistency. Were yours? How do you achieve that consistency? I have read some people mention to keep the cake in the fridge overnight so it dries out more. Either way, nice looking cake pops and thank you!

    • @SimplyHomeCooked
      @SimplyHomeCooked  5 років тому +1

      Technically that is the correct consistency for cake pops. The texture is similar to cookie dough. If the dough is to dry it can fall apart. That is the same consistency as my cake pops. The vanilla frosting helps get that consistency. Hope that helps :)

      Shelby Miller I don’t have a recipe for a cake mix cake but I have a basic sponge cake recipe I use for almost all my cakes. You can make the cake from this Berry chantilly cake video and add frosting to it. ua-cam.com/video/ZXF4B3q5biA/v-deo.html just keep adding enough frosting until the cake pop dough will hold its shape. If you make the sponge cake from scratch you will need more frosting than what the recipe calls for. I hope that helps :)

    • @SimplyHomeCooked
      @SimplyHomeCooked  5 років тому

      Was it hard after you dipped it? Or was it too hard during the dipping process? If it was too thick when dipping, I recommend adding some more shortening to help thin out the candy melts.

    • @danikamoran3774
      @danikamoran3774 5 років тому

      It hardened after I dipped it. I think I just needed to add more shortening. They kept breaking off the sticks when I dipped so I guess it was too thick. The layer on the cake pop was also way too thick so they were too sweet.

    • @danikamoran3774

      Every oven is different, so you might need to bake it less or more. I found that 40-45 minutes worked best for my oven. A great way to know if you’re cake is done is by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. If the tooth pick comes out clean, the cake is done :)
