  • Setting your preload correctly on the AXEO cartridges requires the preload adjuster to be set at the correct “zero” preload reference setting before making any additional adjustments. In this video Chase explains how to verify your AXEO’s are set at the zero reference before applying any necessary preload adjustments, or how to set your preload back to “zero” if you are unsure of your current preload setting.

    Do these come with a chart showing where you should set them at? Also is there anyway of knowing if these are already installed on a street glide special without full disassembly?

    I’ve got +2 cartridges for a dyna and when I back out the preload adjuster all the way, it still makes full contact with the spring. How can I tell I’m at preload 0?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  2 місяці тому

      Hello, the Preload adjuster comes set at 0 preload from the factory. To get it back to zero you will back it all the way off and just tighten the preload adjuster to the for flat spot and that would be zero, you have to end on a flat spot, and you are just looking for the first available flat.

    How do i know if i need these cartridges? I have a 2021 Street Glide, in the back I did put Legend Revo A but thats because those stock shocks were so stiff that when i hit a bump it felt like my spine was being shot into my brain, Legend Revo A solved that, but I am not sure if i need front suspension or just keep the stock. I know stock is not as smooth as the back but not sure i need?

      Snakebite, Thank you for your business.
      The a lot of customers install rear suspension first as it tends to improve the comfort level huge. Front suspension tends to improve more performance, so they handle different things.
      Whether you need them or not is tough because comfort and performance are subjective things. But we do honestly believe you would see a huge improvement over stock. You will greatly enhance your rear suspension by upgrading the front end because the suspension works best when paired with each other. Our Rear shocks work with stock fronts but it is not optimized.
      The improvement you felt when installing new rear shocks, we feel you will improve the bike that much again with front suspension.
      If you need any further assistance on this or have any questions, please feel free to check out our website as we offer a chat feature with real tech who are more than happy to help. Or please email service@legendsuspensions.com

    I want my suspension in (0) settings, so Can I install the suspension to my motorcycle straight away without opening the screws?
    I mean does it coms Already Glued by factory or should I open the Screw and put the blue glue ?

      Hani. The factory preload is 0 we do not pre lock the threads in case it needs to be adjusted, so we recommend 243 Blue Lock tight on the set screw before installing.

    22 Street Glide Special with +2 tubes and +2 cartridges with stock HD lowers after sag is set how much travel can be expected?

    Question, I upgraded the 22 road glide front wheel to 21 inches and changed it to axeo21 (0414-0543). I also added 13.5oz(400cc) of the fork oil with screamin' eagle heavy. My weight is 80kg and my wife often rides in the back, so I installed the pre-load by turning it around once. However, even if I ride alone, if I pass through a slightly deeper manhole, I get a shock as if the front cartridge is pounding. Is this right?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  Рік тому +1

      Hello Nomadrider. Thank you for your business.
      Technically this is right because you increased the preload 1 turn so that's the feel it is giving. However, this is not the preload setting recommended for your weight range. on the install guide on the back there is a line of questioning, to help you decide on preload setting and it states to adjust preload for rider (driver only) not rider and passenger. due to the system being too firm when riding solo.
      We would recommend 0 preload for your application. This is how the system is preset out of the factory.
      To correct this, we recommend removing the 1 turn you put into each cartridge and reinstalling at 0, please remember to apply some blue 243 lock tight to the set screw when re-installing.
      If you have any questions on this, please feel free to reach out to our customer service via our chat feature on our website or email service@legendsuspensions.com

      nomadrider,
      Yes, this would up the preload range by 100lbs and will make the system firmer over setting 0.
      The Axeo's being a performance suspension system they are already a more performance feel over stock, so having too much preload will add additional firmness that may not be desired by someone in your weight range.

      Michael, We set the preload at setting 0 from the factory. This would generally be for the 100lb-249lb range.

    This is why you should go with Ohlins.,... You don't have to take your entire fork assembly apart just to make an adjustment, then put it all back together and hopefully you never have to make an adjustment again.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment,
      As long as someone reads the install guide and selects the adjustment for their weight range you really should not need to remove them again until it is time to service, just like any other front suspension.
      If you have purchased a new used bike with this suspension already in it and need to make adjustments, removing the fork leg, removing one bolt and the top cap really isn't too involved.
