The Valkyrie Goddess can sing any style of music and it wouldn't bother me, she's floor jansen, she sings what she wants
What she wants .....which can be anything because she is capable of just about anything ......I don't beleive I have seen her Rap ....but then again. I don't know that she has tried ....nor have I seen actual throat singing ...but I beleive she has the skills and some grounding in at least some of the styles.
Floor will go on tour as a solo singer next year... I just ordered my ticket for her show in Hamburg Mai 2023
Floor said in her livestreams after each solo release that Nightwish remains the priority but doing the solo work allows her express her creativity in a way she hasn't done in awhile (She wrote songs in ReVamp and After Forever). Her solo stuff will be stuff she fits in while balancing Nightwish and family obligations. She plans to release a solo album in 2023. Last week at Pinkpop in the Netherlands she performed a solo set (included Fire and Storm plus songs from her Amstedam solo show) and then a few hours later performed a full set with Nightwish (same set you saw in New York without the Greatest Show on Earth due to time constraints). Concert was livestreamed by 3voor12 and sponsored by NPO2 Dutch TV. Both shows were recorded and posted to YT but I can't find them anymore so maybe they were forced to take them down. 3voor12 posted clips of Fire, Storm, and Phantom of the Opera with Henk. ua-cam.com/video/zsEiFiG0vs8/v-deo.html. During the livestream after the Storm video release one of her fans recommend she wear the pink suit that she wears in this video for her solo Pinkpop performance. She thought it was a great idea and wore it! She also announced solo tour dates for April and May of next year in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She mentioned in the livestream that since she will have limited opportunities for solo concerts they will be limited to Europe so if we want to see her live solo we need to plan ongoing to Europe. Regarding her solo sound Floor has mentioned that it didn't make sense to write metal songs since she already is in a metal band with the best metal composer in the world. She first worked with her long time friend Jooest van den Broek (keyboardist from After Forever) but it was to close to metal so she reached out to Gordon Groothedde, whom she has worked with on a couple of songs in After Forever . He brought her this song and said I think this is your sound and she was, yes this is it. If you listen to Energize Me (song they did together in After Forever) you will hear a similar sound.

Yes, great channel, you can find there also Floors's perfomances on recent German show Sing Meinen Song(similar to dutch Beste Zangers) and full episodes of that show, most with english subtitles. Must see for Floor's fan IMHO.

Floor has already begun her solo career as she performed as performed last week as a solo artist at the Pinkpop 2022 Festival., where she performed 'Fire" "Storm" and "The Phantom" with Henk Poort. She also performed at Pinkpop with Nightwish the same day and was fantastic.
I recall when Floor appeared on Tarja's channel during the Covid lockdowns, she told Tarja, that after appearing on Beste Zangers in 2019, she discovered that she was beginning to like many different types of music. She quickly qualified that statement telling Tarja "But let's face it, I'm never going to be a Pop princess". Although she is exploring new frontiers, she has stated on many occasions that her Nighwish family takes priority over everything else.
She just played 2 sets at the same day on Pink Pop Festival in the Netherland. First Solo and later with Nightwish 😲
Btw.: i was once on Pink Pop ack in the 90s when R.E.M. were playing there. That was short after they got really big, why we were already fans of them before.
Floor is already touring solo. She has also just done PinkPop, both solo and Nightwish.
She is writing her own music, expressing herself with her own songs and not wanting to copy anyone else.
She is releasing tracks as she goes but there is an album slated for next year with all these sings I believe.
All Nightwish members, pretty much, have side projects, including Floor.
She intends to continue a solo career alongside Nightwish but has said she will never leave Nightwish and they will always take precedence.
By the way, I meant to say - re Floors lower register, I love it and I think it as every bit as good as her higher registers - velvety is how I describe it.

Her solo album will be released next year. She toured Netherlands (sold out within 24 hours, of course), and her Netherlands-switzerland-austria-germany tour dates have just been announced. That woman must be nominated as World Treasure.

There is a video of her recent performance at Pinkpop Festival plus the complete Nightwish performance two hours later. She was magnificent. Dancing in the heat. An absolute Goddess.
She is going to to do a solo tour with her own album 2023 and do 5 shows in The Netherlands.
I know people who will go to to 4 of the 5 shows, I will go to The Hague.
Pinkpop was amazing, Floor spoke to me about my t-shirt, it had the text in Dutch "I am here for Floor Jansen & Nightwish" and with smaller letters "and the beer"
This was recorded and Floor posted a clip on UA-cam. I saved this on so many places and watch the clip multiple times a day.
Floor said in 1 interview that the spark for solo album came to her during Beste Zangers show. And yes expressed that her priority is NW, solo comes after that. She also said that she wanted to do this kind of music and see if she can unite normal people and us metal fans under 1 roof. That came true in her solo concert in Nederlands.

"Please be with Nightwish forever." Ditto, so long as it makes her *happy*. Thankfully, I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. The whole band, including Floor, knows they have something exceptionally rare and special together. So I say "GO FOR IT Floor, with your solo career!"

Nice reaction as always! it´s exactly that what you said, she is doing this musci style (lets call it Floor´s) cause she already had Nightwish for her metal side, she needed to do something different, i´ve seen some interviews and she has always confirmed that she is commited to the band so no worries there, this thing she´s doing aside is other proof of her greatness, she even played last friday in a festival in a solo show and later she did it with Nw, it was great, even James Hetfield went to check them out and fist bumped with her, fun video.. keep rocking and stay safe! I think she’s confirmed that this will be part of a complete solo album, but no release date given yet.

Sharon den Adel of WT did her own album. She said there wouldn't be WT anymore without that solo album. Her's is a great album!
Bands like Nightwish and Epics have a following in the U.S. But, get little to no airplay on American mainstream radio which is why nobody has heard of them unless you are a Symphonic/metal fan. I came across them by accident watching a reaction video. But, I still like listening to The Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt and Olivia Newton-John as well because I appreciate them to this day. Floor already has several gigs scheduled for next April and may in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Floor has stated that she has done metal for so long, she wanted to do something different. Nightwish is still #1 for her. Full record in 2023. We all hope she never leaves Nightwish.

I like this side of her, Don't get me wrong. But I love the Metal side of her best. It's what I know of her before Nightwish. It just suits her better IMHO. I do like this but it just isn't the same.

The members of Nightwish have other projects. Floor maintained her own band, ReVamp, for 3 years after joining Nightwish. Marco did other projects, Tuomas has Auri (with his wife and Troy), plays with Darkwoods My Betrothed and has completed solo projects and loads of sessions. Floor has, in addition to ReVamp, made the Northward album, sung with Aryon and Arjen's Star One project, recorded with Evergrey and several others. There is no reason to see Floor's solo singles and next year's album, as anything other than her exploring her artistry alongside her commitment to Nightwish.
Sideproject. Album 2023. European Tour spring 2023. I've got tix 🤪. NW is No.1 and will be always No. 1. She is doing this solo stuff because she can 😉. Like Tuomas/Troy are doing Auri, Marko did with Tarot. And Kai and Juka are also still with Wintersun.

Floor is also a very good business woman. She is furthering her “brand” worldwide. She has stated she wants to solo tour next year and poss even to America. She knows NW is not going on a lot longer, guys are getting old but she is lot younger. Unlike Amy Lee, Floor has signed on with a diff recording label, has her own growing merch and more. She is on her way, smart woman
Nonsens. Holopainen is only four years (+ 2 months) older than Floor. Vuorinen just two and a half years. Floor declared multiple times and also recently again very explicitly that Nightwish is and will remain her highest priority in the coming years. She just likes to have a solo career next to Nightwish. Just like Holopainen and Donockley have. (btw: I follow Floor's career since she was 20, with After Forever and saw her live for the first time 21 years ago (still in venues with 200 people) and dozens of times after that).

Floor knew what she did not want, but struggled with what she wanted for style. Eventually she chose pop because she never done that before. As always, it turned out fine.
Floor is 41 years old. If she gonna make it big as a solo artist the time is now! Tuomas is also busy with other projects than Nightwish and has expressed a will to make movie scores after Nightwish is done. I give Nightwish 5 years max then they'll stop touring and making new music. They'll probably reunite in different incarnations for charity and celebrations. Some day all 3 singers will be on stage together.
All 3 singers on stage together is like children's fairy tale. Not gonna happen.
What are these comments that Nightwish will not go on for very long. Have you guys paid any attention how they are. Thought about Tuomas, Troy and Emppu sitting home doing nothing is absolutely hilarious. These three will be making music for a really long time. Of course the schedule will slow down some point, which is completely natural. Floor's solo career plays well with Nightwish. After the world tour it will take some time for Tuomas (usually 1 year) to make new material for the next album.
Nightwish lives for live concerts. They did the virtual gig because they couldn't tour sue to COVID.
