v1 or v2 at 38mm 🥰 i bought 2 of them in non working order + a donor movement to fix them
♻ the only drawback : no way to get parts so ... i have to search and pay for non-working ones ♻
Pull the trigger on a 38 lume loved it and gave it to my pop for father's day. Felt barren so got another 38 lume w/ sapphire crystal loving that one also, have yet to wear it but want to get a decent strap for it
This thing is a strap monster. So many straps look great on it.
awesome review! looking to add it to my collection hard to find more budget friendly chronographs out there
Definitely. It's a great one! I have another video on my channel taking a look at some budget [panda] chronographs. Check it out. :)
planning on getting this, is the Swan Neck option worth the extra bucks? or the non swan neck version will do just fine?
Will this be wearable on a 5.7 inch wrist?
I wasn't a huga fan of the seagull homage version, I think it's cool but it just doesn't suit my style so i know I wouldn't wear it. I really wanted to own one of these movements though so when I saw this Sugess panda version on sale I had to get one! I love it!
Can you make a video on the cheapest automatic chronograph ??? Thanks.
Just bought one, it's lovely buying Chinese watches, almost none of them are small enough for me so the choice is simple!
the also have a ETA Chrono Chinese knockoff aswell in a Daytona look. I wonder how long they last
If it's half as good as the ST19 movement, I would bet it will last for some time. The only problem is servicing these chrono movements is probably about 2x the cost of the watch itself, so it's basically disposable.
How does this compare to the Mukur (Pierre Paulin) watch? Same movement and design, wonder which has better finishing/value?
Wish I could tell you, but haven't had a chance to try the Pierre Paulin just yet. Would like to get my hands on one.
What strap do you have on the Dan Henry?
A cheap faux alligator that isn't the best, but gets the job done: amzn.to/3vhmzpu
Make sure you get 18mm. And heads up: the deployment clasp sometimes gets unbuckled while I'm wearing it, but that may just be my fat wrists hitting the deployment button when I move my hand.
Mine has a dark blue finish on the crown and pushers. I cannot figure out if it is a protective foil cover that can be peeled off or if it is like that. In your video I don’t see it. Did it have it? Thanks
Yeah, it's a protective foil to protect during shipping. You can peel it off
Managed to snap one of these up used with the Swan Neck for £120 (just under $150) in mint condition from a guy who bought it directly from sugess. That price for a mechanical chronograph is incredible, i wish it was an auto but for that price im not complaining. Youre just not going to find a mech chrono sub 1000 they are 99% quartz movements which is so frustrating because without this watch youd have no choice but to buy a quartz. Dont be put off buying one because its chinese its better than watches by mvmt filipo loretti and all those fake affordable luxury watches which are even more expensive
Seriously, insane value. I agree, even though it is a Chinese watch, it is well-built and the movement is phenomenal. If this same watch was released by a well-known brand, it would be insanely popular (and more expensive)
This price with in house movement is insane. .
Wow, that is unfortunate. I wonder how much a replacement movement and movement swap would cost?
It’s not an in-house movement, as far as I know. Seagull sells these movements to other companies. Much like how Seiko sells their movements to many other companies.
I like the 38mm lug to lug compared to the 40mm lug to lug. It was funny seeing the Seiko in the review, it looks like a mess compare to these other sleek designs.
Lol, so true. The Flightmaster is so damn technical looking.
The Seiko Flightmaster is going up in prices everywhere, I hope you hold onto yours 😔
I don't see this one going anywhere :)
Tolle Uhr, super günstiger Preis.
Amazing watch, i was looking for some cheaper alternatives to the Hamilton chronograph, this one is just insane, definitely going for it
I just received this watch that I got during the 11.11 sale.
Overall, it's beautiful and it's a nice watch for the price.
However, one thing that is really bothering me, is that the chronometer hand doesn't line up with the 0 position (12 o'clock). It sits right in the middle of 0 and 1s.
I mean, I get it, it's not the most expensive mechanical chronograph out there, and there are some things I can live with at this price point, but damn, if you are going to make a chronograph, better be sure that the chronograph hand lines up at 0, since the point of a chronograph is to record the exact time.
Kinda bummed about this and I'm not really sure what to do, or if there even is something I can do. I know that shipping it back to China with tracking is not worth the cost...
That is very unfortunate - poor QC is frustrating and that second hand would drive me mad. I would definitely contact them for a return and see if they can accommodate shipping cost. Otherwise, a watchmaker would likely be able to fix it relatively affordably.
@@ChronometerCheck I've been playing with the watch and found something interesting.
If I start the chronograph and stop it early, like at 5 or 10s, when I reset it the hand is in between the 0 and 1s mark as I mentioned before.
If I stop it towards the end of the minute, at around 50 or 55s, then when I reset it, the hand is perfectly at 0s, so it seems like when the chronometer is stopped early, there is not enough inertia in the movement to put the hand back in place.
I am not a watch expert, but this seems to indicate poor tolerances in the movement (which I would be somewhat OK given the price).
What do you think?
Yeah, the cost of returning from Canada to China is not worth it...
@@bdpf1744 Interesting. I agree with your theory, poor tolerances, which is worrying for the long-term longevity of the movement.
Slow motion is a bad touch
I dropped it and now it broke😂
Awww, man. Sorry, that sucks
@@ChronometerCheck I bought it as a throwaway piece anyway but was starting to like it more and more, now it just dies on me so I'm just keeping it just to look at the case back
