I'm staying in Mazatlan now and have been here since December. You missed one of the biggest events of the year, the Carnaval, which is the 2nd largest Carnaval celebration worldwide. 2 million+ people travelled here for it. Also on the 8th of April will be the total solar eclipse - also 1 - 2 million people are expected to come here. Later in April there will be a huge motorcycle rally, similar to the Sturgis motorcycle rally in the USA. I found many street food vendors on the back streets of Centro away from the old town, and also northeast of the Golden Zone in the local neighborhoods. There are many active English speaking groups here that hold breakfast clubs and trivia nights for people to get to know each other.

here are two bigger parks for your next visit:
Parque Ciudades Hermanas (downtown, near the beach)
Parque Central (very close to the baseball stadium and right next to the new aquarium)
also, there's plenty of seafood "carretas" on the streets, remember that being by the beach seafood is our forte.
I imagine you went to the "Panamá" restaurant, a classic in this part of Sinaloa, that's probably the widest selection of good food you'll get, so if you didn't - next time you should

Mazalan offers lower rents than PV, PV offers more tasty foods. Mazatlan offers long beach side walking path. PV offers more surrounding beaches and towns. Personal we prefer PV in gerneral.

@@dreamlifeinMexicoI disagree with you. The best food here is not the fancy restaurants. Here it's all the small family restaurants that are all over. The magic of mazatlan is when you live here WITH the mexican people. As for small towns there are alot in the mountains such as concordia. Cheers from full mazatlico transplant from NW

If I didnt know how to cook in mazatlan I would starve to death. The only good food is Birria ( From Michoacan) and SOME of the Ceviche, everything else is way below average and just weird. Even the tacos are boring, How do you ruin tacos?? Worst food in all of Mexico.. Yet in the mind of Mazatlecos the entire world loves their food... Seriously, mazatlan is a good place to SKIP. It was cool a decade ago, now its commercialized, over priced, and dangerous as hell.

You got the street food wrong. It's everywhere and not just hot dogs. There are morning places and there are nighttime places - perhaps you were looking for them in the afternoon! I've also not found a soggy taco dorado, but they do ladle the birria broth over the birria tacos dorados at some places - perhaps yours got a late splash on the grill. And just to say - in Sinaloa (most of México?) beef is rarely aged. This makes anything except a thin cut come out tough. Asada should have been fine though - but realize the restaurant can't take a bite of your food before delivering it so the only way they know something wasn't up to par is if you tell them. Mazatlán is known for seafood, and we have a ton of great marisquerías.

    • @dreamlifeinMexico

that what we saw. we assumed it must be around. We just didn't see it. it shouldn't be so hidden. we never had a problem finding or seeing it in other cities.

@@dreamlifeinMexico I can't answer specifically as I don't know where you were staying - but it *is* everywhere, and not hidden. Just not in the afternoons. Breakfast/early lunch or after dark (especially after dark). I think our summer heat has a lot to do with why those are the hours.
