Thanks for watching. A few notes Lainie and Miro rent a house for $7,000 Pesos a month- about $400 USD. This isn't a typical price but can be found in some parts of the city. Typical rental prices go for around $10-12k Pesos/Month

I love the respect these two show towards the local culture…..showing grace to the locals rather than talking a bull in a china shop approach of expecting locals to change. We’re guests in their country, good for these two respecting that

I enjoyed this interview. I like how you see yourselves as immigrants and not Expats. I live in Germany, 52 years old and have been to Mexico a few times and will be going back again this year for a month to see if it's for me. Everytime I go, I feel a connection and have realized that I don't need alot to be happy. After a suffering a mild Burn-out because of my last job, I am trying to make some changes and concentrate more on what's important, including my mental health. It's okay to work but you need to be honest with yourself about what you really need. I found that in Mexico. I want to integrate and make this my new home, step by step. Life is short, so make it happen.

Born to my Mexican parents and me being from Chicago it was a very big huge difference in comparison to both lifestyles once I had the chance to live in Mexico I saw a whole different much larger and free world the humanity and the nature is what I enjoyed, I lived in with my grandmother at that time very artistic house and nice gorgeous garden I enjoyed to sit on the balcony and watch the rain the nights were beautiful the patio of the house was large the barn we had in our backyard was beautiful the goats sheep and cattle along with roosters chickens and turkey oh yeah a lot of live poultry the little grocery store she had inside the property was cute and we would always have nice repetitive customers from the area, the German shepherd dogs always guarded the property but we never had any intruders trying to break in or nothing like that to worry about honestly I felt a lot safer, the food that the Mexican lady sold from outside her house in the late evening was delicious and I remember walking home to watch my tv show with a full belly and happy sometimes when were young we don’t even know why we were happy or better said we don’t know what we had until we don’t have it anymore, I remember everything like it was yesterday I remember the fairs the carnavals the supermarkets when I used to go for breakfast in the morning and ate this huge tender stake w we quesadillas and strawberry or vanilla shakes it was the bomb going around downtown was fun you can do pretty much anything from playing your video game console to logging on to your computer or taking a nice hot shower and spending time with your girlfriend inside your own private property without having to care to pay rent of course if you own but even that rent is pretty quite affordable especially if your a graduate and are working in a professional field or if you have a little gig going on in the side you can make ends meet, I enjoyed there story so I just wanted to share a little about my experience living in Mexico now I’m in Chicago but I swear I’ll give anything to have that same wonderful experience ❤

Thank you Lainie and Miro for being so connected and mindful. I am Mexican and this is the first time I ever heard someone who relocated to Mexico giving the recommendations that I would love foreigners to consider when moving to Mexico. Live in the houses we live, tip as we tip, connect with locals… and your impact on the country will be largely positive.

Great video... Five years a go I mooved to a cute beach village in the state of Sonora, very quiet on week days, and not so peaceful on weekends ... I love it here and the Mexicans are the nicest people, and very helpfull very important point for me... In Mexico you can find very modern cities just like in the U.S. if thats your thing but much more expensive for a American life style but you can find it here in Mexico also,

Hello a wry nice and inspirational story, I left Mexico to live in USA about 24 years ago. I went from a not very stable border town in Mexico to a rural area little town in the middle of Tennessee and I loved it, made a lot of friends there. Here recently, moved to south central Texas larger city and I while I found it really nice I am still not fully engaged in the big cities dynamics and life style. So it is always on the back of my mind going back to a small little town or move to Mexico. Thanks for sharing your story and experiences, that definitely adds to all the factors you need to know or consider on a decision making. I am glad you guys found your point of equilibrium and enjoying your lives. I vistes that state ( San Miguel Allende, Salamanca, Guanajuato, Leon) Guanajuato it is a beautiful state, unfortunately most of the recent news are not very favorable in terms of safety I hope that changes soon. But I am glad you are sharing this so for those who want to visit again we can take our precautions and go. Nice story thanks, blessings.

Lots of investors like UA-cam’s (nomad capitalist) are saying move to Mexico because the USA is going to crap really fast . they always mention how Mexican food and culture is rich . I’m Mexican American I love America it’s all I know but the American dream is to get in debt and to stay in it . Americas food is poison and American culture is plain stupid look at who we make famous , as soon as I get my money rite I’m planing on moving out of here.may god bless you both and what a great story and perspective

Your message and approach is a welcome antidote to many UA-cam stories about relocating to Mexico which seem to focus on exploitation of the culture rather than integration.
