Hey guys, Mazatlan is the best. We are moving to Mazatlan next year from Cairns, Queensland. The place and people are so beautiful. Love your videos, keep travelling.
You Blokes might want to seriously e think your strategy,, Mazatlan sucks! The food the beaches, the people, the service, the quality of almost everything in mazatlan sucks... In all of sinaloa for that matter... life in mexico is much better in the states south of Sinaloa...
I love that you are slow traveling. Other channels make me dizzy with how fast they explore a place and rush again to the next thing. This feels relaxing and enjoyable to watch and we get to see a bigger picture. Thank you!
When corn tortillas accompany your meals, what you usually do is you roll them into tight little tacos (with nothing or salt in them) and you use these tight tacos to push food onto your fork (the way you might use your knife) and you bite the top off after each time you push food onto your fork (or you can dip it into the sauces left over from the food and eat them that way, also as tight tacos). There are some folks who don't like to make tacos out of the whole tortilla (because it can be long), so you can rip it in half or into quarters and make a bite-sized tight taco out of each piece, that you just pop into your mouth once it's soggy from pushing your food onto your fork (or whenever you want). If avocado is served with your meal, you customarily place a few avocado slices on a tortilla (you can smush them with a fork if you want a softer consistency), sprinkle salt on them, wrap it into a taco and eat it. Happy to hear you're enjoying Mexico!
Oh my goodness thank you!!! That's so good to know. We will give it a try for sure and hopefully start to look like we know what we're doing one of these days 😅
I love that you’re taking your time and moving at your own rhythm- I know your work is content driven, but I appreciate that you’re digging deeper where you are and not as frenetic as some other folks. Models positive work life balance :)
Awe thank you so much! Yeah this slow travel life is a little harder to balance when UA-cam always wants fresh content. however our hopes is that we build a deeper and more relatable connection with everyone watching. There’s lots of the world to see so what’s the rush 😝😊
I guess we Will have to wait for the next video for your impressions, but years ago, I went to both places and found that Mazatlan’s beaches way cleaner and nicer than Puerto Vallarta’s beaches - as PV is in a bay so debris collected there.
Yeah we have to say the beaches of Mazatlan was much more impressive than we expected. Clean, bright and not as crowded as other places because the beach stretches out for kilometres it seems. 10/10 city 😝
Thank you for your videos. I like your positive attitude and the food scenes in nice locations a lot. All the best from Austria! PS: I can imagine it's challenging doing what's right for yourself while trying to maximize views, but I have a feeling you are on the right path wherever it may lead you.
So funny, my son and I passed up all those spendy places in centro historico too and instead ate upstairs at the mercado. Great meals for a fraction of the cost. We also would shop in the mercado and pick up a dozen or more tamales to take home and freeze for quick dinners. That's a good Mexico trick...if you find good meat tamales somewhere.
I’m visiting Mazatlán for this 1st time this week with my son, and it is really beautiful here. The El Faro walk was a beast, 😂. We are going to Deer Island to close out the trip.
Glad you enjoyed your time in Mazatlan, next time your in the area you should cross the Harbor to Isla de la Piedra. the Isla is when i moved to and never plan on going back to the US.
Yes, for sure! Mico points out similarities between here and the Philippines quite often, especially with the food. We keep stumbling upon desserts from Mexico that are really similar to Filipino deserts he grew up eating 😊
I am so happy you guys enjoyed the pearl of the Pacific!! Please note that Plaza Machado was established by Juan Nepomuceno Machado. He is considered to be the father of the Mexican community of Mazatlan. He was a merchant from the Philippines who traded in fabric, pearls and silver. He settled on the coast of Sinaloa in 1829 where there were fishing villages and established a business financing pearl divers.
Love this video! I’m from mazatlan and I’m very glad that you make a video showing Mazatlan, it’s growing like crazy as a tourist port but still for a lot of foreign people is dangerous but it’s not, thanks 4 the video 🫶🏻 By kass
maybe next time i can go the stone island and the "cerro of neveria" and se the cannon and the view is amaizng too and have to go a navigate in a yate throungh 3 island
i live in mazatlan and i heavly recomend go to galerias, playa brujas, zona dorada and the marina zone, this zones are the new side of the city cause the down town you review for me is too old, im saying this cause if u like the city theres a big lot of places that u left over to discover!
A helpful suggestion, the US is implementing strict rules around bringing a dog across the border. Be sure to plan ahead of time before coming back north.
Hi, great video! I’m planning to drive to Mexico and Mazatlan too from Calgary. Do you need a special car insurance? If so, where can I buy the insurance? TIA!!!
How exciting!! From Calgary through the USA we used All State, but they don't cover Mexico. We bought car insurance through Lewis and Lewis for Mexico - it was the best priced insurance we could find. We did everything online/through email, but they're based in the USA if you want to call!
I hope they come back soon Mazatlán is growing, it has been modernizing for approximately 10 years, I am sure that in another 10 years I will be unrecognizable. I hope you can enjoy it again. 😊
Mazatlan was our first big stop on our way down from the Arizona crossing in Lukeville (smallest town we could cross in which was a good decision). But we spent a few weeks in Puerto Penasco and down in San Carlos first. Ended up staying in Maz for over 3 months! I don't think I would like the summers there though. Also, prices have gotten a lot higher for rentals there.
I am planning on driving to Mexico next month to mazatlan, can you give me the route you used and possibly hotels to stay, because I don't want to drive at night, thanks
Hey there! If you take a look at the videos before this one you’ll find videos about our drive down all the way from Canada. I think you’ll find some help in those. We generally stay in air BnB’s because we have our dog
Guys! I love you so much! Watching you is so sweet! I’m so happy you are enjoying my country, it’s so respectful and nice the way you show your traveling journey. My best wishes ✨
im also from mazatlan (although being honest im kinda introvert so prefer to stay at home and don't go out to places) and im glad that you guys have a wonderful trip here ; if you guys like to party; there is an annual festival here, the carnival (around end of february-start of march) with a lot of events and 2 parades.
Just started watching you guys because we love Mexico. I’m a fellow Canadian from Montreal. What part of Canada are you guys from? Love you dog btw. He is so non chaulent 😊
I recommend you to eat sea food next time you stop by. This is my hometown and everytime I'm traveling I really miss the food. I'm really happy you loved my city as much as I do, you're always welcome here!! (I can be your guide next time)
WOW this was a fantastic couple days out giving me inspiration for visiting this area especially along the beach line where you guys walked and the market you went to.
Glad you enjoyed it! The market was very busy but really immersive. And the malecon of Mazatlan is just amazing. Definitely one of our favourite things about the city. Each little part of the malecon can offer something different so you can always visit different sections and get something new 😊
I settled here in Mazatlán, but still enjoy visiting other cities. I tell people that Mazatlán is a city with a little tourist area, and Puerto Vallarta is a tourist area with a little city. Acapulco on the other hand ... is like Puerto Vallarta all grown up. If you're going down the coast, be sure to stop in Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Acapulco, Puerto Escondido, and Huatulco. Maybe add Manzanillo to the list if you have time. If you're bouncing inland then stop in Tlacapaque, and Tonalá (near Guadalajara) and the pyramids at Teotihuacan (near CDMX). Tonalá has a HUGE tianguis twice a week - don't get lost! On your way back North do the Barrancas del Cobre (copper canyon) route - you're driving otherwise I'd say take the train, 'El Chepe'. But stop in Divisadero and take in the canyons and the adventure park there.

I love that you are slow traveling. Other channels make me dizzy with how fast they explore a place and rush again to the next thing. This feels relaxing and enjoyable to watch and we get to see a bigger picture. Thank you!
Thank you so much! We really enjoy this slow travel and it really gives us a chance to explore the places deeply. We’re glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Yo soy de Mazatlán, siempre a donde voy presumo mucho la comida Mazatleca 😋 Son ustedes bienvenidos 😊
Gracias! Love Mazatlan 🥰
@@nicoleandmico Fun fact: Mexico is in North America.
not "cEntRalaMeRiKa"
We never said it was 🤔 Mexico is on the way to Central America and that’s our destination 😉
Hola algun hotel que recommended que no este tan cerca del Malecon pero con playa tranquila?
Gracias
@@marthadeleon3029 hotel Palms Resort, tiene precio razonable y un excelente restaurante frente a la playa

Fun times! Omg. The food looks scrumptious! E’s having a blast! Love your smiles! Safe journey! Are you going to Cabo San Lucas?
Thanks! We don't have plans to go to Cabo. We don't expect to make it to that part of Mexico for now, but maybe when we drive back to Canada one day!
Scenery near the Basilica is similar to that in the Philippines due to the 2 countries being colonized by Spain.

It’s such a great city to visit and live. 10/10 😁
Mazatlán has amazing seafood as well.
Thanks for the tip!
I’m a local, and our weather is far off from “perfect year round” lmao, most of the year the heat is insufferable

You should really just stay and settle here. It is in both of your souls
It really is tempting! But we are excited to see more of Mexico and get into Central America :)
I recommend coming on the day of the dead from the end of October, beginning of november
Great idea! We’ll have to check that out. I bet the city is just spectacular during that time

It’s in North America and is on our way to Central America 😊
The Mighty Matzatlan Mystery: Who got the smelly feet? We'll never know.
😂😂😂 exactly!

Yes it’s on the way to Central America
U can stay so long you want except us people, we tire of them
Thanks for watching!
Mazatlan es Norteamerica.
Yes! It’s our first big stop on the way to Central America
Rude tourist…
Rude person, it goes both ways dude.
Next time you come you should try going to the observatorio, el cuchupetas & the aquarium
