Foscam FI9804W HD Outdoor IP Camera Introduction

The Foscam FI9804W is Foscam's HD Outdoor Weatherproof Wireless IP Cameras. The FI9804W features high definition 1280 x 720p video resolution, h.264 video compression, built-in DVR via SD card (upto 32gb), two-way audio, wifi-N capability, remote internet viewing, motion detection, night-vision as well as network video recording capability. In addition, it is smartphone compatible (iPhone, Android - app required) as well as viewable over the internet using standard browsers on PC (Firefox, IE & Chrome) or Mac (Safari only). The camera functions well as a security camera for outdoors or as part of a complete home/office security system with remote internet monitoring ability.

it says here that it has 2-way audio but the product spec on their website does not mention that. Does anyone know if it has this capability and whether it works?

I bought two FOSCAM cameras a few months ago to set up at a winter home. I have yet to figure how to get them to work wirelessly off my network. I left without getting them up and running. Very frustrating.

sorry to hear that. I think in the directions you start off hardwiring it, its the on your network, and you then go to the config page and setup the wireles security. So you have to join the camera to your network.

Steve Klise That's where i had problems I guess. Googled a bunch but no luck. I had it wired, as you said, and it worked fine. Then I had it wireless and it worked when I was also on the network. But when I went off my network, i couldn't find it. That's where i had problems. I am not at the vacation home now so I doubt I can do anything. I do have another camera at my regular home and will try to set it up. Geo

George Cox you may want to manually set the IP address when it is hard wired; then test; if that works, and you have the correct wireless setup, disconnect the hardware, power off and on again. Should still work.

George Cox Look up port forwarding and WAN vs LAN ip addressing.I have my cams from the outside on ports 85 and 86 and BlueIris on 84.
On the inside I port forward outside port 85 and 86 to the cams local ip's(ex:192.168.1.20) on port 80. So in order to see each cam all I do is change the port. Ex: 202.120.80.12:85 and 202.120.80.12:86 if my WAN ip was that.

what file extension do I need to update the firmware on my FI8910W INDOOR CAMERA? what do I need to download other then the firmware so my computer can update? ty
