For instance you could’ve thought if a T. rex looked at a giant plane flying at their direction, it could’ve thought of it as a unusually large pterasaur and ran away instead of knowing that it’s always scrawny little humans inside of it
I've never felt more disappointed with something in a long time. I haven't even heard of this show until this video but I am already sad. This seems like such a great concept for a show. A prehistory show with Ice age animals. Making the carnivores mindless movie monsters is annoying but I can get over it because the designs for a lot of the mammals look stunning. The cgi is surprisingly impressive and despite many of the animals being hilariously oversized (Coelodonta I'm looking at you), most of them look really good and pretty accurate. That scene of the mammoth on the beach is genuinely one of the most beautiful mammoths I have ever seen and the effects look gorgeous, that is Prehistoric Planet level of quality. The massive problem is the dinosaurs. Oh my good Jesus did they fumble this up so damn hard. Firstly they shouldn't have even had dinosaurs because it takes away from the creative idea of using cenozoic animals instead of dinosaurs. They didn't even bother to design their dinosaurs well. All of them are straight up just Jurassic Park rip offs and it hurts my soul. Why would you use an oversized pteranodon THAT'S SUPPOSED TO EAT FISH and make it attack people when you could have just used Quetzalcoatlus. Quetz was a terrestrial hunter that might have even eaten human sized animals because it was absolutely massive. We hardly ever seen azhdarchid pterosaurs in media so if you HAD to put pterosaurs in your show then having a less represented one would have been great. I do like the pattern they gave the spinosaurus and appreciate the paddle tail but come on, it's is just a boring baryonyx with a sail. Spinosaurus was one of the most unique looking dinosaurs to ever live and you had every opportunity to make it look so much more interesting. The JP raptor with pronated wrists makes my eyes burn. Don't even get me started on the trex. Just straight up the most Jurassic Park looking trex I have ever seen that isn't Jurassic Park itself. The entire jeep chase wasn't a cute reference, it was a blatant rip off. (If it was something else chasing the jeep, a woolly rhino for example, THEN it would have been a cute reference because it wouldn't just be copying JP.) HOW CAN THE TREX CONSTANTLY TAKE BULLETS FROM 20 MILITARY GUYS SHOOTING AT IT WITH ASSAULT RIFLES?!?! This is a fucking cartoon wtf. Ughhhhhhh. I'm getting really heated just typing all of this lmao. I get that it's probably just a low budget action show with prehistoric life but I feel like we deserve better than this. It's 2024 and I am so tired of constantly seeing past representations from the 90's in modern media. There is no excuse. You had the perfect idea for a show featuring really good looking Cenozoic animals, an idea which has hardly been used before and yet despite the mammals looking pretty good you decided to fuck it up and bring in dinosaurs and turn it into an awesomebro, outdated, mindless action flick. Such potential completely wasted. Sorry for the rant, I know it's just a TV show lol. I just wish we could get paleo media nowadays that actually cared about depicting these fascinating creatures as what they were and not just old monsters. Here is hoping that RickRapter105 reviews this tho because omg his review would be hilarious!
Same. With new discoveries, they could have used new animals to give them a chance to shine. Furthermore the crocodile could have been better off as Purrusaurus
I agree with all of that. Also yeah the trex not being damaged by bullets at all was absolutely absurd, meanwhile weaker calibers somehow draw blood on every shot WHEN SHOOTING A FUCKING DEINOSUCHUS, of which has significantly stronger and more armored skin than a tyrannosaurus. And the bear being killed with a knife, or the saber being knocked out by a bat. Just making the dinosaurs unstoppable forces and all of the other creatures weaklings
I hope they make spinosaurus swim and kills deinosuchus besides a Smilodon and Giant short faced Bear killing dire wolves then killing each other and the Bear kills the giant megathireum giant ground sloth after a tough fight but no they're all just attacking human beings that's not their nature behavior attacking only people and fighting their own kind individuals not just fighting another animal species that may compete with them besides I'd like to see the Mammoth Elephant killing a Giant wolly Rhinoceros
Yeah, I felt my iq drop after watching 30 something soldiers pour 5.56 into a t-rex and it acted like they were pea shooters. One burst from a single gun and it's leaving, and the amount of shot they put into it would have killed it two seconds after it entered the compound
My theory: Had the series continued, they will also include Paleozoic creatures and even creatures from the distant future (possibly from a post-apocalyptic timeline after humans left the Earth or become extinct).
The CGI was wildly inconsistent, some parts look syfy quality and other times it looks real good. I guess its pretty easy to see which shots they cared to put budget in😂
We need a survival series on Rancho La Brea with accurate animals acting like A N I M A L S and not as bloodthirsty monsters. That can work really good, in fact, that would increase the wild atmosphere.
Thanks for this. I didn't know this show even existed and now I can enjoy all the (good) cgi without having to pay to watch it or have to sit through bad human acting.
10:33 brother it’s like we are being shown different series, in some episodes the cgi and animation looks worse than mine, but in others it’s even better than Jurassic park.
@@msbte49 how does that sell? Thanks to documentaries like prehistoric planet and films such as Jurassic world dominion (not to mention paleo media in general) feathered dinosaurs and general scientific accuracy have become more popular among the general public than ever before. I mean for fucks sake look at how hard 65 failed at the box office, it literally failed because the audience couldn't stand how inaccurate the dinosaurs were.
These big companies behind modern cinema/television need to get their heads out their assess and start looking at what the audience actually wants instead of relying on regurgitated bullshit by lying idiots who spread such bullshit as a means of brown-nosing.
@@msbte49 although that's the case for Jurassic park and carnivores, it is nowhere near the case for everything else. Feathered dinosaurs have become more popular than ever among the general audience. Thanks to JW dominion, prehistoric planet and the paleontological community itself, more people are aware of scientific accuracy than ever before; so much so, they've begun turning on dinosaur films with inaccurate designs, hence the box office failure of the film 65.
The fact these "SYFY channel movie of the week" looking effects managed to air in a prime NBC Time Slot for three straight years will never not be hilarious.
OK, I did check to see when this was made, before I began criticising. After all, it made it to three seasons before being ditched, which is good going for an average SF show. It's a pity it didn't keep consistent with its dinosaur models, because whilst the Spinosaurs were good and pretty much accurate according to current reconstruction, the same cannot be said for it's T Rex. It's almost as if the show makers got this far along and said, "Meh, we're not getting a season four, might as well throw any old tat on the screen." The T Rex couldn't have been more outdated, being an example of shrink wrapping, and with the palms of its hands facing down rather than inward. After all the decent CGI work this show had, this Rex was an utter letdown!
I have no idea what's the movie is all about. But from these clips, I can infer few things: - insane plot armor - jurassic park creature design - surprisingly good CGI - animal cruelty and monsterization
Sure he did. You forget. This is Hollyweird we're talking about. That's the place that can create a hybrid of a T. rex, Triceratops, AND a stegosaurus.
It is entertainment folks, to make people come back and watch the series. I watched a couple episodes at the beginning of this show and never watched it again. I suppose only a very small portion of the series had these creatures. La Brea really did not interest me in becoming a dedicated viewer. The Tyrannosaurs REX at the end of the video kind of reminds me of the Jurassic Park chase scene with the Jeep. Cool scenes, but allot of it was kind of ridiculous. I do thank you for creating the creature scenes. Take care.
I'm sorry but what the hell is this logic? A prehistoric crocodile dies from a few bullets but a T.Rex takes like 30 mags and isn't even scratched like he has invincibility turned on lmao
Imagine in a different timeline they are in the Monsterverse and that hole is the hole that Godzilla made in Hong Kong and some hollow earth creatures come out of that hole
This is what it looks like during the Cenozoic era. These prehistoric animals are unique and they have defense mechanisms to protect. The sabertooth tiger has very sharp teeth and claws that can be dangerous. A wooly mammoth has thick fur and long and big tusks, if an elephant tried to stab the mammoth with its tusks the thick fur with hold it off, so that will back fire.
Okay, so this video kind of exploded. Can't say I was expecting it to take off like it did, but thanks for watching, and I hope you stick around for some upcoming videos I put actual effort into lmao.

Here is hoping that RickRapter105 reviews this tho because omg his review would be hilarious!
don't warp your head with the dino. there is time travel portal that happen randomly due to future human experiment. it s a mess
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙀 agree with evrything
Same. With new discoveries, they could have used new animals to give them a chance to shine. Furthermore the crocodile could have been better off as Purrusaurus
Don't torture him
I agree with all of that.
I could imagine this is what Jurassic World live action series be like.
jurassic world is already a live action
No live action series@@capssz
@@capssz I'm talking about Jurassic World live action "series"
@@capssz he meant, if jurassic world got live action tv show

Thanks for this. I didn't have time to watch it. Shocking that this is all they had in 3 entire seasons.
I love the look of the Spinosaurus and the deinosuchus
I hope they make spinosaurus swim and kills deinosuchus besides a Smilodon and Giant short faced Bear killing dire wolves then killing each other and the Bear kills the giant megathireum giant ground sloth after a tough fight but no they're all just attacking human beings that's not their nature behavior attacking only people and fighting their own kind individuals not just fighting another animal species that may compete with them besides I'd like to see the Mammoth Elephant killing a Giant wolly Rhinoceros
@karimmohamed2891

It's fun to see @@Lord_of_Proboscidea
@Lord_of_Proboscidea no because that's what makes movies and TV shows so cool when it comes to animals they fight for their lives
I like how some of the Animals in this Show....Act like Actual Animals, Like the Megalania and Pterosaur Retreating after getting Speared
That megalania didnt behave like what it probably should, like other monitors. It even roared and has a very inaccurate gait.
Dude doesn't know anything about animals
Yeah, I felt my iq drop after watching 30 something soldiers pour 5.56 into a t-rex and it acted like they were pea shooters. One burst from a single gun and it's leaving, and the amount of shot they put into it would have killed it two seconds after it entered the compound
I have to watch this series, it looks very interesting.
Let me tell you, that must be the friendliest T-Rex ever, no bite, just poking people away. What a good boy.
I never even would’ve thought that Mesozoic creatures would be in the show since basically all the other creatures are from the Cenozoic era
My theory: Had the series continued, they will also include Paleozoic creatures and even creatures from the distant future (possibly from a post-apocalyptic timeline after humans left the Earth or become extinct).
So, you’re theory is basically the plot of Primeval.
I have to say, the Spinosaurus model looks great
Man this show got crazy.
And stupid
Didn't know this show existed until now!
3:25
Ladies and gentlemen the mammoth
This is Awesome the only other creatures i wish La Brea should have put into the show is both the Fearsome Terror Bird and The Mighty American Lion.
The movement is so smooth
No, the movement of the creatures was even worse than their models
Idc
The CGI was wildly inconsistent, some parts look syfy quality and other times it looks real good. I guess its pretty easy to see which shots they cared to put budget in😂
The Wooly Rhinos are pretty cool looking
I like how the spino was thought has strong and robust instead of skinny
spino was robust in life but not in a tyrannosaurid way, more like a lungfish form
Some of these shots are very "made for TV" others are amazing
These effects were wildly inconsistent but the ones that were good were pretty good.
I can't believe I've never heard of this show.
I hope we see more of the animals interacting with each other
Spinosaurus had the most budget
I think they pasted Jp3 spinos skin
10:33 brother it’s like we are being shown different series, in some episodes the cgi and animation looks worse than mine, but in others it’s even better than Jurassic park.
If they could feather the pteranodon in this series, then why the fuck did they make the raptor look like the ones from Jurassic park?
Because they were lazy.
because thats what sells
"the world that was once theirs, will become once again after millions..."
This feels like one of those type-B movies they put on after lunch in Antena 3
The last scene looks like the plane will bump into the the T-Rex mouth, then suddenly it goes up through the air 😂
I don't care what people think the durability of Rex is, you put that much 762 into it and it ain't walking.
Dude, this is a TV show and the cgi/animation is not that bad! 😮
10:42 Dinosaurs too? Awesome 😎!
Mom : we have Jurassic park at home.
The said movie at home : Jurassic Prank
Major Primeval vibes, I love it
This looks great , it looks very entertaining . I would hate to come face to face with any of those animals ! I will check out the full series ..
I have no idea what's the movie is all about. But from these clips, I can infer few things:
- insane plot armor
- jurassic park creature design
- surprisingly good CGI
- animal cruelty and monsterization
It's a tv show on Peacock called "La Brea"
I love the Smilodon Design and color because I think it had spots since it lived in forests

Movie name plz???
He is probably the main animal
Why would a T rex waste so much energy on tiny humans
The graphics are fantastic
11:59 no way they pulled a JP3
I love how they just couldn't help getting spinosaurus wrong.
10:35 Spinosauruses are really cool drawn and animated
Despite the regrets, I like the homages to other films and series 😊❤

fucking dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs and mammals.
They aren’t on earth anymore so all prehistoric animals still exist.
It’s a plot thing the dinosaurs aren’t there naturally
This is what it looks like during the Cenozoic era. These prehistoric animals are unique and they have defense mechanisms to protect. The sabertooth tiger has very sharp teeth and claws that can be dangerous. A wooly mammoth has thick fur and long and big tusks, if an elephant tried to stab the mammoth with its tusks the thick fur with hold it off, so that will back fire.
why is everything making generic big animal noises? The wolves, Wooly rhinos, and saber cats all sound like a lion or something.
Just to warn everyone that this is a series and not a movie, that's why the cgi isn't always perfect.
