Prehistoric Planet is amazing for giving us more realistic depictions of dinosaurs prehistoric reptiles, but I still have nitpicks with some of the animation. I wish the animators paid closer attention to the behavior of birds and reptiles especially with regards to eye movement and reactive gestures to their environment. Some of the animations still feel a little bit glamorized, like those anthropomorphic animals you'd see in a Disney movie. Not a knock against the animators since they've already done great work here, but I hope they keep at it so we'll get even more immersive and convincing depictions of these animals in the future.
This is without a doubt the best depiction of my favorite dinosaur. Absolutely gorgeous. Out of all depictions this is my favorite. The Jurassic Park/World Rex as much as I love it, I prefer this take. Did take some getting used to the covered teeth, but looking closer and getting a better understanding, it makes sense. Now I know anything we say about dinosaur behavior is mostly speculation but I really love the idea of T-Rex when hunting is more of an ambush hunter rather than full-on pursuing predator. Because obviously T-Rex wasn't a super fast animal, but it definitely did have speed for short durations. Also, I believe that when mating, they were monogamous considering the fact that many theropods have that connection to present-day birds. In fact, many species of birds of prey are monogamous. It would be beneficial if T-Rex had mated for life for both a stronger chance for a successful hunt and raising their young.
Since T-rex most likely hunted in pairs or group, it can be hypothesized that theses pairs would either be couples or as depicted here, siblings. As for the groups, probably families (young isolating a prey and leading it to the adults). I think it is unlikely that 2 strangers would team-up since T-rexes were probably territorial (need a large, stable food supply to sustain their nutrition and secure chances for a mate). So just like wolf packs, multiple individual groups were probably mostly families.
@@jacobcox4565 my bad but still the point stands. It looks amazing and I like that it’s not over taking all of the scales on its body. I see a lot of videos showing off Trex looking less like the classical or realistic version and more of either all scales and vicious monster or big fluffy chicken

The animation in this series is top notch. 👌All the movements feel real, nothing moves too fast so you really get a sense of the immense weight of the animals, a lot of movies make that mistake by having them move too quickly. (coughs) Jurassic World series...
Tyrannosaurus could move through the forest in near silence thanks to cushioned pads on their feet. … The one in Jurassic Park that loudly announced its arrival with thundering footsteps was bored or drunk. That’s my headcanon. 😂
My head canon is that she never had a reason to sneak around and ambush prey. Every prey animal she's ever eaten was just handed to her chained on a platform. This is proven further when Rexy hunts the Gallimimus, she bursts out of the trees without a single sound hinting at her approach, no one knew she was even there before she ambushed the Gallimimus.
@@jacobcox4565 Yeah… Ellie was quite right in saying these animals have no idea what century they’re living in, and they’ll react violently if necessary.

@@tylerleach8796 Media can really influence people. I have seen a ton of people who still think Dilophosaurus had a frill and spat venom because they only know about Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park.
@@tylerleach8796 Not even that. Some people just parrot information they learned from "somewhere" and take it as fact because they never heard otherwise yet. I would actually really like to see a major Hollywood movie that portrays dinosaurs accurately.
The graphics for this considering it's just a TV show, are amazing. Jurassic Park is my favorite film of all time and so many people have been saying for years if they ever remake it they want to see it as a more true to the novel version but I disagree. What I would love to see is a miniseries. The first book can be like 6 hour long episodes and the second book can be another 6. It will give much more time to flesh out the characters and with the popularity of shows streaming these days and not having to worry about censorship for tv, they could really do something amazing. The biggest issue would be the cost of CGI and practical effects. I don't see it happening anytime in the near future but another 10 or 15 years, and I could definitely see it being a possibility. CGI is getting better and better and less expensive the more we improve. I am fully confident that someday we will see a more novel based version of Jurassic Park with a lot more horror and Gore and I really hope that the miniseries is the way they go with it. Giving each novel 6-8 hours is the way to do it.
Same group who did the Jungle Book and Lion King remakes. So take that in that this is all done on the same Unity engine that so many games were made off of.
You don’t need to make the Rex a bloodthirsty monster to make it cool. If anything, seeing this thing charging towards me would be just as terrifying as Jurassic Park’s Rex.
Even the best CGI back in the days of Walking With Dinosaurs looked… not convincing… still good for the time, I loved it, but I never thought it looked real. … This looks scary real. 😳
Walking with Dinosaurs came out in the late 90s, so the CGI is phenomenal for its time. The CGI here is amazing and almost fully realistic, though it's still missing something where it's not quite fooling the eye. Almost there, but not quite. Still, CGI animals are the hardest visual effects to get right, so I'm definitely not going to fault them.
kinda cool to think that not only could the tyrannosaurus smell the dead sea turtle from MILES away, it literally has the conscious to walk directly past a living one, knowing full well that it can just eat the dead one. Like it not only realizes that it doesn't have to disturb the living mother turtle but it also can save the energy and have a free relaxing meal after crossing a long swim instead. Such a smart creature.
Most predators would rather scavenge a corpse than take the extra effort to bring down something alive. This is a display of common sense rather than intelligence.
I read a textbook on therapod dinosaurs at my local library and it sgowed that therapod dinosaurs were a lot more flexible than we thought as well as depicting therapods as large as tyrannosaurus being able to swim so this makes a lot of sense to me.
Btw whenever you make trex walk make footsteps quiet they had the footsteps in silence probably because of their padded feet and btw you should add feathers on the trex

I like their depiction of T-rex. One thing that always bothers me about Jurassic Park dinosaurs is how they made them drink water like a dog instead of like a bird. It doesn't seem feasible that T-rex would stick out it's tongue to taste or drink.
That's minor thing whatever the choose to do with the Jurassic park these are more likely Hollywood monsters not prehistoric wildlife depictions
It was just a small mistake believing they could drink like the mammals.
Yay, finally, a video about the dinosaurs that's actually accurate and doesn't portray them as vicious blood thirsty monsters but as like real animals like how they must of have been many millions of years ago way beyond our time 65 million years ago.
I mean the fossil record does show that they were blood thirsty animals tho, just like modern apex predators

@@Tay-v6v T Rex is American, but an Asian American, because before it became T Rex, it was still a small little Guanglong that lived somewhere in China, and a path lead some Guanglong to travel to America for a few million years, and then yeah, well it did compete with a few allosauroids, as a small guanglong, and now Tyrannosaurs invading the territory of the Allosauroids causes most dinosaurs from the Carnosauria to go extinct. @@kotarojujo2737 The animals didn't emote like they should, though. For example, when Simba sensed the wildebeests coming, he didn't even fold his ears back, which is what happens when a cat feels scared!
Still doesn't mean the film didn't suck. The tech and animation though is commendable, even for what was just a game engine years back.
Such a beautiful depiction of this incredible animal
15:55 that’s the same growl for the T-rexes in Jurassic park

The one in Jurassic Park that loudly announced its arrival with thundering footsteps was bored or drunk.

Woah the documentary visuals have gotten really good.
kinda cool to think that not only could the tyrannosaurus smell the dead sea turtle from MILES away, it literally has the conscious to walk directly past a living one, knowing full well that it can just eat the dead one.
This right here. THIS is what the real T. rex was like.
No constant roaring monster, just an ordinary animal like everything else it lived with.
