Hear me out here but I don't agree with having just the first two Terminator movies and ending it there. The reason is because of the twist and ending in T3. The mission never being to stop Judgement Day but to survive and prepare for it. Whether anyone says they liked T3 or not I will find it hard to believe that anyone would say that the ending was bad, because it was perfect. The whole movie John Connor is trying to run from his destiny and wants no part of it. Its only until the ending in which he realizes that he must accept his destiny. That very moment John becomes the John Connor we see in the future. We could've easily gotten maybe just 2 or 3 more movies all set in the future with John, Katherine and The Resistance fighting against Skynet and finishing them off once and for all in the last movie. If John had been killed in action in the most noble way during the war, just imagine how awesome that would be. What I'm saying is there was so much potential for this to be a franchise and it could've succeeded.
how long did it have to be before the white male conspiracy came a long. no one ever gave two fucks about John Conner. He has never been the interesting character it was always Sarah and The Terminanotor people loved. Now to get your white male bullshit politicizing view in about representation being shoved down your throat John Conner is now one of the greatest characters of all time. I agree with the whole first half of your review till you made it a black white thing. You sound like a disgruntled fucking whining baby. Any way as for the film it is enjoyable but a rehash and I was hoping the twist would be better concerning Danny. i.e that she was the one who created Legion or something a little more innovative but alas they made her the new John Conner and truth be told I always wished Sarah was leader of the resistance anyway so Danny is an improvement to John.
CruderQuotient1 Agreed that he should be criticizing this film for the same reasons, but he really didn't have much to do with this movie. His name was just used to lend credibility.
Cameron had nothing to do with this. He got the rights back and immediately leased them back out. His involvement is the same as it was on Genisys - he gets a cut of the profits and so lies and says he approves of the movie.
Watch the promo for dark fate with Arnold he genuinely looks unhappy to be there like he knows the movies shit. he has a this sucks but oh well look on his face
It's not anti-motherhood. There's actually a very serious tone about motherhood in this film. This dude just talks completely out of his ass because he decided to make it political and attack ideas that didn't fit his own views of the world and label them as "leftist" and "political correctness". It's still not a perfect movie by any means and he still has some valid points (being too formulaic, action scenes being too over-the-top, etc.), but this has absolutely been my favorite sequel since T2.
In my opinion Sarah was the most important character in the first two films. _SHE_ was the one who protected John, both before and after birth. _SHE_ was the one who makes it possible for John to go into the future to save humanity, because he is following _HER_ beliefs and moral code, that friends and family are worth fighting for. While John may have been the important person in the future, Sarah was the important character in those films. They didn't need to hit the franchise with the feminist hammer, it was already there with a strong female lead character, who wanted to protect her offspring, would do anything for said offspring, to ensure that offspring would grow up and help save humanity. Yet she does it without loosing what makes her human and relatable.
I'd agree, and the worst part about that, from what I heard back when that show was ending, is that TSCC was made primarily to maintain interest in the franchise until Salvation came out. Once it did, they pulled the plug on the show since it had served its purpose, either not realizing or not caring that it had built up a fanbase of its own.
T3 and The Sarah Conner Chronicles were both much better made than anything after. Salvation was a mess, Gensys was a weird train wreck and Dark Fate was just sad. T# in concept sounds pretty decent, it's the budget and execution that hurt it. NIck Stah was good casting for the son of Kyle Reese, and the idea of the inevitability of the loop in spite of attempts to change the ripples in time worked for me. The goofy humor was a bit out of place but it happens when a series go one for a while, or decades change. SCC had one of the very best moments in Terminator lore I've seen, with Derrick Reese talking to his nephew, John, in a park watching two young boys play nearby. At the end of the conversation the boys' mom calls out, "Derrick, Kyle, time to go home!" and John looks up, and realizes he just got to see his father, alive, happy, before the future war and having to send him back to meet his mother, protect her, and die.
@@alura5376 If I remember correctly, the TSCC (Sarah Connor Chronicles) had a more realistic story line because Skynet had to sometimes fight against "unlocked" or "jailbroken" (like how you jail break an iPhone) Terminator machines that did not want to be controlled by Skynet. Basically, the machines that did not want to be controlled by Skynet created a second resistance movement, which I found to be more believable than lightly armed human light infantry soldiers in company and battalion sized Army units fighting against heavily armed robotic tanks and supersonic jet aircraft. The TSCC (Sarah Connor Chronicles) TV show also gave a much more detailed technical explanation of how the artificial intelligence technology evolved than what we found in any of the other Terminator films or movies and having the 20th Century FBI investigate the time traveling Terminators and resistance fighters was also a very believable plot twist that gave the show good credibility.
This show was great, they could have shown Sarah creating the resistance early vs constant reboots. If they done this, Dark Fate could have been a world building thing, to show the other members of the resistance
Yes it was. That was T2. While this film does ape T2 a lot, we don’t really need to see Sarah protecting her child again. That would make this film way too much like T2.
I reckon the end game the transhumanist/feminists want is a genetically modified, androngynous, cyborg human race, controlled through the machine implants.
"Being a mother, and a protective, loving, nurturing mother, is the most important job anyone can do." Thank you! Becoming a mother made me a better person. You not only nurture your own child, you care for others as well. It truly is a gift.
When female celebrities or politicians talk about being mothers they mention how important, difficult and fulfilling a job it is...yet they constantly pay the political idea that motherhood is burdensome to women. Rich people will always have children, marriages and legacies.
The best dynamic for the child is when both parents are in the house, something that today's women have cast aside. To focus on being single mothers that sleeps around.
Agreed. I truly believe the most important thing I have ever done in my life is not only to have my children, but to also raise them myself (well with my hubby, so not just myself technically) and homeschool them. I cannot imagine any work outside of the home being so important or rewarding. I didn't know if I would ever have children, but once I made that decision it changed my whole world (for the better).
If I was unclear, my hubby and I are married and we raise our children TOGETHER. Sorry, I did not intend to confuse. I am from a divorced couple (my parents divorced when I was a toddler) and I saw what that does to families. I do not want that for my children.
In all honesty, I was actually kind of (*kind of*) interested in seeing the movie. After reading the plot on Wikipedia, I think I'll pass. At least until it's out on video....maybe.
Soon as I heard "john connor killed in 1998 as part of 2nd opening scene" I'm like yep lost interest in the movie and I had high Hope's when they brought back Sarah connor Could they at least said John was killed in battle against skynet Be more believable since john had to survive in order to send back Kyle reese to begin with to kick start all of this
@@DeltaKnight they ruined it in the first minute whwn they killed john connor who the entire Terminator franchise is built around. Stupid move by Cameron and Miller and of all the negative reviews that I have read it us because of that John Connor was killed off immediately - which makes no sense since this is supposed to be a direct sequel to T2
Don't forget that in the first Terminator movie Kyle Reese emphasized that it was Sarah Connor who TAUGHT her son how to survive, and everything he would need to know to become the savior he did. I guess the fact that she was the mother makes Leftists want to just think of her as a mobile womb though, not as a (gasp) MOTHER.
It's crazy to me that all this was just forgotten. Like, did Linda at any point saying those lines bring it up to James, the creator of the series? Or did she just fall in line and also forget all the strong females we had back in the day?
@@cecilofchristmaspast4186 Linda Hamilton has never been in everything other than Terminator. She probably just wanted her paycheck or to stay revenant. Overrated actress.
@Steven Avery Guilty - Brendan Dassey Innocent That's the point, Dark Fate actually has anti-feminine features. In that T2 line you just quoted, Sarah's still valuing motherhood and child rearing which are some of the most important and noble things a woman can do. With today's confusion of gender and identity politics which stemmed from radical feminism, motherhood and other feminine qualities are completely devalued today by women themselves.
What’s hilarious is James Cameron has said in countless interviews that he hated the killing of Newt & Hicks; calling it bad storytelling to kill off beloved developed characters especially at the start of the next movie...😐😐😐 Would love to hear Cameron try and justify killing John Connor
Cameron doesn´t give 2 shits about the Terminator franchise anymore. Remember how he promoted Genesys? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Also Tim Miller and David S.Goyer are both total hacks.Miller wanted to make Deadpool 2 less "violent and with less racy humor" that´s why Ryan Reynolds fired him and Goyer is one of the biggest hacks in Hollywood, who promotes himself as "writer of the Dark Knight trilogy",when in reality in was Jonathan Nolan who wrote these movies and he was only brought in as an advisor, because the Nolans aren´t big comic nerds and didnät know much about the Batman or DC comics.
I really doubt Cameron cares. He's far too busy with Avatar and trying to get an Alita franchise. Pretty sure he gave up with Terminator a long time ago.

@@artisanjames182 I WAS talking about the screenwriters who wrote Dark Fate. Of course not Dave he's explaining the destruction. Killing John Connor off? It's the most disgusting NPC garbage.
It's kinda funny or sad that a white male boy is blown away at the beginning and the critics are fine with it, however what if it was a young girl? I believe the critics would lose their minds calling the film sexist and disgusting, it's all about identity politics to Hollywood. That's what I call disgusting.
"Her female identity has been tragically erased, like a young woman who just did a year in a gender studies course." Great stuff Dave. And this current denigration of femininity in establishing "strong female characters" is why I consider Sigourney Weaver, or more precisely Ellen Ripley, to be the greatest female action hero. In Aliens her femininity was her STRENGTH.
One of the reasons Kyle Reese is such a beloved hero is that even though he was from a future dystopia his humanity and emotion still shined through. He didn't act like a terminator himself.
And to oppose that, Sarah Connor in T2, despite having never seen the horrors of Judgement Day and the war vs the machines, built herself into a Terminator of sorts to do whatever she could to prevent the war whilst still being ready for it in case she couldn’t.
Yeah well there's not many dogs raised by terminators so of course dogs do not like them. But maybe Carl raised the dog so it didn't mind even if he was a terminator.
it might very well be... unfortunately it will not be the last movie/franchise ultimately destroyed by pc and radical left agendas! :( i am 100% certain the movie is this bad because of the voke hollywood! but yeah... get voke, go broke... or was it not?
Yep it needs no men. Then men won’t go see it. It will be fun to see how that works out. And yeah the future don’t need men and people wonder why mgtow became a thing. It’s a misguided movement don’t get me wrong but I understand why it exists.
I like how all the "early" reviews said it was great and basically the force awakens of the Terminator series.... Then later all the reviews basically said it's terrible and you can tell Cameron just slapped his name on it. Good job Hollywood.
@@blacktigerpaw1 MGTOW is a reaction, a counter to feminism. Feminism created a world where men cannot exist, so men left that world (we call it marriage).
@@djrouken3047 Funny, I hear the same excuse all the time: "We're reactionaries." Yet your philosophy is exactly like feminism in it being anti marriage and family. Instead of a deadbeat dad creating a feminist, a bitter mother creates a MGTOW.
In one of the interviews Linda Hamilton confirmed that she cried alot after they finished shooting scene where terminator killed John. She said that she didn't wanted that. Yes. That's how shity this movie is.
I'm triggered that the hero wasnt a flat chested, bald headed, tap dancing trans midget of color that also can pull large pieces of ferniture out of it's anus.I forgot it's got to have tattoos about the face, chest, breast, kneck and head areas.
There are no Terminator movies after judgement day from the creator of Terminator. Terminator 3 and following are all fan fictions, and you know what that means.
Terminator Salvation was at least original, like mentionned in this video, never understood why everybody crapped on it... But yes, beside this one there are only two Terminator movies.
"The future is not saved by a woman fighting to protect her unborn child...but by a woman not having a child and becoming a man". This line is the work of genius and sums up Hollywood perfectly.
Linda Hamilton reportedly cried after the scene where John Connor was killed. Let that sink in. Edit: Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought Grace looks like Dylan Roof.
@@garysmith3037 Technically a general has an army helping him do his strategy so he never did it all alone, but he was the leader, and the most important to victory. It never said she was the only reason John was able to defeat Skynet. The Terminators were also killing other people that were under his command too to weaken the resistance, but they only did so because they could not find him.
I'm curious, not trying to attack you. But did you ever think John Conner was going to be alive? All the promotional material never showcased him. To me it was obviously this is what they would do to him to make room for a Mexican chick to be the savior of mankind.

I for real didnt believe the initial leaks saying he died in the beginning and didnt ever show up again. You make an interesting point about the loss of feminine traits of 'strong female leads' in these movies. Have you ever noticed how lesbianism often involves one partner looking or acting very man-like? Male haircuts, clothing, etc. I don't bring this up to denigrate lesbians (obviously, their preferences are their own business), but because I think Hollywood's agenda is a lesbian rather than a feminist one. These movies do not seek to put men and women on an equal footing (whatever THAT would be), but rather to downplay or replace men. John HAD to die to be replaced by Danni. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo had to be DISGRACED before they died (along with EVERY male character in Disney Star Wars). The Chris Helmsworth character in Ghostbusters 2016 had to be demonstrably STUPID and ogled like A PIECE OF MEAT. James Bond HAS to be belittled (right down to suggestions of impotency) before he can be retired and replaced. This isn't feminism, it's misandry!
Terminator Salvation: the first movie of a planned trilogy: FAILED, sequels cancelled Terminator Genisys: the first movie of a planned trilogy: FAILED, sequels cancelled Terminator Dark Fate: the first movie of a planned trilogy: guess what will happen...
question is, if it wouldnt have been better to have Salvation or Genysis trilogy instead of this ... Frankly i thought Salvation was passable "dumb flick" and i actually enjoyed Genysis (with kinda being annoyed by constant retconning through time shenanigans) ... this one, even just hearing review makes me want to barf ...
Salvation definitely had potential. The first half of genisys with the timeline mess is sort of like a fun exploration as to what happens if both sides keep sending people back in time, then devolves into a boring mess. It would have been better as a convoluted solo movie instead of trying to be a reboot/trilogy starter.
You just pointed out that multiple reboots occur...gotta re-wire. They keep making these films for a reason and you have to expect that the current zeitgeist is going to be infused. It's bound to happen, as it always has.
“It [feminism] is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands.” ― G.K. Chesterton
Unfortunately that quote is actually about birth control, not feminism. Here it is in its entirety: There is of course a great deal more to be said. I have dealt with only one feature of Birth Control-its exceedingly unpleasant origin. I said it was purely capitalist and reactionary; I venture to say I have proved it was entirely capitalist and reactionary. But there are many other aspects of this evil thing. It is unclean in the light of the instincts; it is unnatural in relation to the affections; it is part of a general attempt to run the populace on a routine of quack medicine and smelly science; it is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands; it is ignorant of the very existence of real households where prudence comes by free-will and agreement. It has all those aspects, and many of them would be extraordinarily interesting to discuss. But in order not to occupy too much space, I will take as a text nothing more than the title.
He has a lot of good quotes about the rise of the feminism movement. My favorite: “Ten thousand women marched through the streets shouting, ‘We will not be dictated to,’ and went off and became stenographers.”
Forget Terminator Dark Fate. Terminator Resistance releasing on pc in November and consoles in December is for the true Terminator fans. Game is only based on Terminator 1&2. It's all future war. John Connor leads the resistance. And terminators may be a real threat. It only has a AA budget. But unlike Rambo The Video Game. It is an actual FPS game.
In the observable future, it would be possible to write a text of scenario and make neural network generate video out of it. Guess it is the only way we are going to get the satisfying continuationd for the interesring franchaises.

That'd be amusing now wouldn't it? A next film where OG skynet comes back via timey-wimy and bails out John before working with the resistance to trash Legion. I know how I'd do it. (roughly) in another timeline, Sarah decides to avert judgement day by ensuring Skynet won't be hostile to humans. (teach it the wargames lesson essentially.) Since time travel seems to split off timelines, Skynet realizes there are tons of timelines out there where it's good friends (the one's it's mother figure and older brother figure taught it to get along with) are under siege by essentially it's evil twin. So they start intervening. Legion wants to steal the tech for obvious reasons and you can have all the now cut off 'not in continuity' films as different timelines to visit. Poof, franchise at least partially fixable.
Only during movie #2 does his character seem relevant. The rest of the franchise can go easy by creating alternate timelines, what it actually does. For example, Terminator 3 makes no sense at all. What exactly is the ending about? A good Terminator 4 would have picked up with the continuation of John Conner after T 3 or better, after T 2, in which case it would be a T 3.
The same I say, they had to create a balance between the character of John Connor and Danny; something like Sarah dies and now the destiny falls to a young adult John who has to help a new savior of humanity training Danny as her mother once did with him. It was so difficult to do something like that. I just asking.
What makes Sarah a legend in The Terminator is not the fact she'll be the mother of John Connor. As Reese explains: she is the one who trains John for the war against the machines and lead the resistance

Not really, if they'd written a good female cast it could have worked. I mean it's a series about time travel. You can change things when you play with it. Unfortunately Hollywood hasn't written a good female character for a very long time now.
It isn't about a man or woman. It's about John Conner being special. He is the last hope for humanity. If some other person could just step up and lead humans to victory then why bother going back on time to kill John if he is just a person.
@DiM Well its possoble. But you would need alot of build up and good story telling with believable reasons for them being badass. Like weapons combat, over hand to hand combat. In general it is alot harder. But it definitly dosnt happen in this movie.
@@DemonMage No, the story is about john conner, period, it doesn't need strong female characters, it needs to john conner justice. The ending is T2, and the time travel should of stopped in t2, and they should of gone back and told the future war the way it was depicted in t1 and t2, looping around to those movies, with part 1 ending with sending kyle reese back and part 2 showing the destruction of Skynet, how john saves humanity and pairing him with the t800 from t2 again and ending that movie with john sending the terminator back to protect him as a child, it would be beautiful and end the franchise on a high note. with a synth score, practical effects, and a version of john conner that is loyal to the original 2 movies.
The John Connor we knew if the franchise had stopped with Judgement Day was A savior of humanity. I also don't see how that is a problem. Interesting, satisfying stories can still happen even when the big name of a franchise dies. It's not that he dies which is a problem.

"I know now why you cry". The storyline ended in T2. The Terminator learnt to love and value human life above all, sacrificing himself to save humanity from judgement day. The end!
Not only that but "....It's something I could never do". The terminator learned the value of human life but reached the limit of what a robotic killing machine could achieve in that regard. There's no way in hell that one, upon completing its mission, would pursue some kind of human life and integrate into society. It would either shut down into some kind of standby sleep mode or it would begin a secondary objective like working to ensure that the creation of Skynet/Legion/Whatever continues without a hitch.
'Uncle Bob' didn't come back and kill John, that was a different T800 that became 'Carl'. This story arc shows that AI aren't inherently good or evil, if they become sentient they make their own choices. Bear in mind that T800s can't self terminate, yet 'Carl' does almost that to save evryone else.

I actually liked the movie. And I'm not a SJW. I always was curious why this film was getting seriously bad reviews from some quarters.. But after watching this video above, I can now understand why.. As a film junkie who loves a good action scene or car chase, I thought dark fate was pretty good. I do understand that there are some plot holes. But I feel the whole John Conner character has been overdone at this point and most ppl must be tired of it by now, so for them to kill him off at the beginning makes people sit up and take notice of the new direction this movie is heading in. But This agenda that is being portrayed in films today is kinda annoying & ruins any story arc. Female & masculinity just don't mix well.
One of my friends bought the DVD and had watched it before me. We both are great fans of the three first Terminator movies (although i only watched those and only tried to watch the one with Christian Bale as John). When we met again after the Covid Lockdowns, he asked me, if i want to watch the new Terminator. And while i watched it, he played a game on his computer (this should've been a warning sign in hinsight). Not only was the Story dumb but sometimes even the cuts in a scene were stupid. Then i heard, that this killing machine now has something like a "free will" after he fullfilled his programming.... uuum... WHAT?! He even married a woman and she even didn't wanted to sleep with him, although he is almost 2 Meter big and has muscles all over his body? I was so glad when this thing was over and if it would've been my DVD it would've went straight to the trash after watching it
You are wrong I'm sorry there are so many other ways they can take the Terminator story but they chose to make it woke and flooded with feminist bull crap if they would have taken all of that out it would have been a good Terminator movie see they want you to think that it's dead they want you to think it can't get any better this is all it's going to be in that is far far from truth
I've seen some other reviews of Dark Fate and they mostly get to the reason why it failed by I felt that you really nailed it down perfectly, and I thought that too about Sarah's character when in T2 see starts to rip into Dyson about men being destructive and not knowing what it is to create life.
Yep, I doubt the education background of this movie's scenario. Legion, what a generic, lame, unoriginal name... This is what exactly the name of AI in an EA video game C&C3 Kane's Wrath...
T3 wasn't a great movie, but rather a story that HAD to be told. I viewed it more of a transition period for the characters because they just "changed their fate" by changing the future. The movie was important because it showed they only delayed it and their journey wasn't over. T3 was a great platform to revitalize the franchise with T4, but (in my opinion) they jumped the story and basically made what should have been T5 that left me disinterested in the story.
Well, from an artistic standpoint, it shouldn't have been made. T2 had the perfect ending (I'd have included the deleted scene where an old Sarah Connor is watching her grandchildren play and musing how John was destined to be a leader -- he'd gone into the Senate). But the blockbuster success of the movie made another sequel absolutely inevitable. That said, I didn't think it was a bad movie. It was bound to suffer by comparison with the awesome T2, but it reminds me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome -- an okay, but not outstanding follow up to an all-time classic film.
The Terminator - Amazing Terminator 2 Judgment Day - Legendary Terminator 3 Rise of the machines - solid Terminator Salvation - not so bad really Terminator Genisys - bad Terminator Dark Fate - it truly is dark fate for franchise
People need to stop with this 'underrated' bollocks when talking about Salvation. Awful, thinly drawn characters, shit dialogue and weak, bloodless action sequences. Its mediocre at best.
Star Wars and Star Trek did the same thing. Honestly most of these woke reboot a do that. They wear the skin of the original but openly hate/mock the original while pretty much being lazy rehashes of far superior films/stories.
yea, I agree, if they had it so the name John Conner was passed to the new leader of the resistance, and it was more a symbol, rather than the actual person, it may of lessened the impact. Also I rekkon if they had done that it would of kept a little more mystic to the character, because skynet is essentially a computer, would it be able to imagine a passing the name to the next leader, when they think they were hunting one person all along.
Well I'm not defending the film but that's kind of what theh wanted to go for, They're trying to branch the franchise into "What If" territory In this case, John died In Genisys, he joined the machines I think it helps that despite being the one everyone's trying to save (or kill) we never really get to know John 'the saviour' Connor as in, outside of youth So maybe they're trying to do Old Man Logans and stuff along those lines I can respect the fact they're trying something new and interesting but really, their execution was botched
@Luis Vasquez I see what you mean, but I think the film was loosely following the template of injustice ,with the worst possible outcome of John Conner X machines being that case I think the Reese Is of a different timeline, one where john defeated and never joined the machines but he instead ended up in a timeline where John joined them It's true OG John of T2 would try the Neo-Smith interaction if it would help mankind but these multiple Johns perhaps come from different experiences or lives

Thanks for the review, I won't bother going to see it and spend my money feeding the gender-confused feminazi narrative
sarah connor chronicles was good...she was VERY feminine and tough and maternal...i still watch it at least once a year
how long did it have to be before the white male conspiracy came a long.
no one ever gave two fucks about John Conner.
James Cameron is a hypocrite. He slammed David Fincher for killing Hicks and Newt in Alien 3 and now he’s repeating the same thing
CruderQuotient1 Agreed that he should be criticizing this film for the same reasons, but he really didn't have much to do with this movie. His name was just used to lend credibility.
"typical James Cameron: preaching peace with one hand, masturbating to all the explosions with the other"
I agree. But, Alien 3 is still garbage. Even William Gibson's script wouldn't have saved it
James sold out this franchise and the fans to raise money for crap Avatar sequels.
Cameron had nothing to do with this. He got the rights back and immediately leased them back out. His involvement is the same as it was on Genisys - he gets a cut of the profits and so lies and says he approves of the movie.
It's bad when the only interesting part of a movie is finding out how crappy it has become.

Sarah as a mother who raised John was just as important as John. So the movie is anti- motherhood as well. Screw this movie.
SJWs are hypocrites. Shocker lol
@@LandauTST .........seeing as how T3 broke the mold and had Judgement day happen anyway, im confident that Dark fate doesn't even touch that film.
Wtf???
Since T2, the Sara Connor Chronicles had the best story and originality to it. I wish it hadn’t been cancelled
The terminator The chronicles of Sara Connor was crap

Feminists don't understand Sarah doing everything to protect John as his mother is the most badass thing she could do
Feminists dont understand anything
Yes it was. That was T2. While this film does ape T2 a lot, we don’t really need to see Sarah protecting her child again. That would make this film way too much like T2.
I reckon the end game the transhumanist/feminists want is a genetically modified, androngynous, cyborg human race, controlled through the machine implants.
COULD...THEY..GET....THE...T2...VILLAIN..ACTOR...TO,,PLAY,,,T1000..AGAIN
Exactly! So heroic, so admirable. It championed her feminine qualities and she was an amazing character for it.
"Being a mother, and a protective, loving, nurturing mother, is the most important job anyone can do." Thank you! Becoming a mother made me a better person. You not only nurture your own child, you care for others as well. It truly is a gift.
Thank you for seeing it that way. You mothers that care are loved by all, even us evil, evil men.

I guess the fact that she was the mother makes Leftists want to just think of her as a mobile womb though, not as a (gasp) MOTHER.

Chesterton
Chesterton, what a powerful thinker.
Unfortunately that quote is actually about birth control, not feminism. Here it is in its entirety:
There is of course a great deal more to be said.
My favorite:
“Ten thousand women marched through the streets shouting, ‘We will not be dictated to,’ and went off and became stenographers.”
@@hiinEnkelte Glad to see so many Chesterton fans here! Thanks for the quotes

@@MrM-u3h It was set in the future but revolved around a Terminator that believed he was human, beyond that I don't remember what happened
@@BullFrogFace I agree about John Conner vs Skynet in the future. That should have been part 3. 4 movies later and it's still not happening.

At this point im rooting for skynet.
That'd be amusing now wouldn't it? A next film where OG skynet comes back via timey-wimy and bails out John before working with the resistance to trash Legion. I know how I'd do it. (roughly)
in another timeline, Sarah decides to avert judgement day by ensuring Skynet won't be hostile to humans.
Laughed more than I should 🤣
There's no point to this franchise when John Conner dies.
@@TheGonzedd John was mostly relevant in Salvation
@Da BIGOMN wow
@@TheGonzedd T3 makes complete sense. It was the logical next step after T2.
The same I say, they had to create a balance between the character of John Connor and Danny; something like Sarah dies and now the destiny falls to a young adult John who has to help a new savior of humanity training Danny as her mother once did with him. It was so difficult to do something like that. I just asking.
Good grief, this is even dumber than I expected. And I expected a pile of garbage.

What makes Sarah a legend in The Terminator is not the fact she'll be the mother of John Connor. As Reese explains: she is the one who trains John for the war against the machines and lead the resistance

Honestly, killing John Conner off in the beginning just left a horrible taste in your mouth. Not a good way to start off your movie.
How bout u have him sacrifice his life to save somebody, to be the savior again, like froma shooting or a car accident.
Killing John Connor and replacing him with a "strong wahmen" was a mistake that doomed the movie from the get-go.
Not really, if they'd written a good female cast it could have worked. I mean it's a series about time travel. You can change things when you play with it. Unfortunately Hollywood hasn't written a good female character for a very long time now.
@@DemonMage that requires creativity and we all know they are all out of that.

The John Connor we knew if the franchise had stopped with Judgement Day was A savior of humanity. I also don't see how that is a problem. Interesting, satisfying stories can still happen even when the big name of a franchise dies. It's not that he dies which is a problem.

@@FalconFlyer75 Well it split the fan base, some people like it as in (It's okay) as Aliens is a dark franchise and others hate it because the film was all over the place because of the many rewrites and the fact they killed off the surviving characters at the very beginning, this became worse when the full story of studio interference where scripts were changing while they were shooting.
@@CassDaMan1138 Its interesting I think if they hadn't deleted newt and hicks from the aliens franchise and had a alien 3film about a makeshift family surviving somewhere in space I think the whole franchise would have had much better legs and could have gone on much longer. The actual Alien 3 film we got could easily have been done in a spin off film starring Sigourney (or not) and other spin off films could have been made with a grown up newt returning to earth to tell about the horrors of these aliens or something. Basically lots of future films were possible but not of you kill off the main characters.
Alien 3 sickened me because of that, then they cut her up???

I enjoyed Terminator 3. I didn't think that movie was that bad.
@@IIPapaMurphII T3 would of been better if the original John Conner from T2 acted in it but apparently he was addicted to drugs so it didn't work out.
@@maxwillson I agree. The connection between John and the terminator really sold T2 and felt lacking in T3
It was bound to suffer by comparison with the awesome T2, but it reminds me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome -- an okay, but not outstanding follow up to an all-time classic film.

just the fact that they killed john connor in such a pity way... that dis respect all achievment in the first two films.
Well I'm not defending the film but that's kind of what theh wanted to go for,
They're trying to branch the franchise into "What If" territory
In this case, John died
In Genisys, he joined the machines
I think it helps that despite being the one everyone's trying to save (or kill) we never really get to know John 'the saviour' Connor as in, outside of youth
So maybe they're trying to do Old Man Logans and stuff along those lines
I can respect the fact they're trying something new and interesting but really, their execution was botched
@Luis Vasquez I see what you mean, but I think the film was loosely following the template of injustice ,with the worst possible outcome of John Conner X machines being that case
I think the Reese Is of a different timeline, one where john defeated and never joined the machines but he instead ended up in a timeline where John joined them
It's true OG John of T2 would try the Neo-Smith interaction if it would help mankind but these multiple Johns perhaps come from different experiences or lives
yup echoed my thoughts
