I have a script im working on. Its about twin brothers at the start of Americas involvement in WW2. They both go to join the Army but one has epilepsy and gets left behind. After all the brave men have left for war, he is left behind with mostly women, children, the elderly. At this point when most the capable men are gone....women, including his brothers Wife, begin to dissapear.... Id love to send you the rough draft/ outline!
@Crows Wit Gaming that is a comically Terrible movie that looks awful, has hard cuts and a narrative that is nearly impossible to follow. You don't get enough backstory to understand or to bother caring what the character motivations are. The acting is hollow, like the people on screen couldn't tell.if their checks were still good, the cinematography is horrid and there is hardly ever two different people talking in one shot, it cuts every couple seconds and the laser shooty fights are almost funny if they weren't supposed to be serious. I saw the trailers and thought it looked like it had potential. I wanted, badly, to like it, but I can't. It so boring, has such abrupt transitions, is so hard to enjoy it took me three times to get through it and I have only vague memories of it. Please tell me this was an ironic endorsement and that you only wanted it shredded to tatters even worse than the staff responsible for the blight that is Jupitor Ascending left on our doorstep like a flaming bag.
The worst part was when Sarah downplayed her own role to referring to herself as just a womb to some man who saves humanity. They seem to forget what Kyle said in terminator: it was a chance to meet the legend, Sarah Connor. Taught her son to fight, organize. To prepare him when he was just a kid. When you went in hiding before the war. James Cameron must be suffering from alzeimers since he allowed this continuity error on screen. Sarah wasn't just some incubator of a messiah. She was the one that made John into a warrior with her guidance.
Well they could care less about continuity at this point,, I don't think the elites write for this movie game anymore,, what you've got is braindead uni drama grads writing it.
After reading the plot synopsis and hearing they killed John Connor [who was an interesting character in T2 and T3 as a kid and adult carrying a heavy burden on his shoulders], they could have used John as a mentor to the younger, genderbent John Conner because he would be able to help her process the emotions and mental stuff of being a savior for humanity while he, Sarah, and an Arnie Terminator protected from alternate timeline Skynet in one last hurrah before letting the franchise go to rest. That would have made for a pretty compelling story and character interaction if it had been done right. But no, we can't have anything nuanced and interesting in "current year." Oh well. Least we got T1 and T2 to enjoy with Sarah and John Connor dealing with killer robots from the future and grappling with fate itself to save humanity without anyone ever knowing it.
The truth doesn't fit their feminist agenda. Where a mother is shunned and frowned upon but an androgynous tough woman that acts like a man and a victim are idolized. It's all part of the narrative to undermine the family unit and push this androgyny/feminist agenda. Because people who have no family and see themselves as victims of toxic men are easier to control and brain wash. Divide and conquer.
The funny part is that Grace, the hybrid protector from the future pulled her power source out which ironically is still the location of the womb. So in the end, the womb still saves the day?
For me, I thought Terminator 3 was good AND the end of the series! It showed back then, that they could only relatively copy T2 rather than try to be original!
I like it to but its just alot of terminator 2 again getting leather clothes chase with a small vehicle vs big vehicle fight in a research center it looks the same only t2 is better
Machine versus Human war, Boogaloo America wasteland era. The humans in 2040 were led by that one general that said the famous " no fate speech" like the one in 2029 and then after that sky net was defeated. but after the 2040 no fate speech Legion Network was defeated, by this girl all grown up,
T3 wasn't a bad movie. It made sense most of all and we got to see a almost human T-800. For me works fine as the end of the series, with bombs dropping all over the place.
Basically, yes. I don't see it ending any time soon though. Hollywood has been unable to write decent characters for a few years now. Emotions, motivations, relations, consistency... They all seem unimportant. I'm not sure that'll change any time soon.

They should have let it end with T2. On the other hand, they had interesting comics in the 80s and 90s, that would have been better than what they made, like terminator vs robocop by frank Miller.
Yeah, back when only writers with half a brain could script a big-budget Hollywood film. Boy, I miss when movies had respect for their audiences and didn't baby us like we're idiots.
In current timeline, cis white heterosexual man is worse than Skynet. Just because. I hope another Terminator will travel back to this timeline and reset it to make some sense again :-D
When they were marketing this the director smugly announced that this movie would “terrify” men instantly alienating a large portion of their audience. Genius.
He knew that he made a pile of garbage, that's why he said it. Bait the trolls, then you can deflect from the quality of the film by pointing out the mean things some say. I don't think it helped his career much, but they all still use the strat and hope it works.
@@uhhuh-pq3vz a good character succeeds on their own merits, not by knee capping their opposition. You don't need to emasculate Arnold to empower Linda. Linda can be powerful without Arnold becoming a fairy princess. Now I'm reminded of something women love, a Lose-Lose situation. Take Tanya Harding having her competition, Nancy Kerrigan, attacked and crippled. Tanya goes to jail, Nancy goes to the hospital, neither compete the next day, neither win anything at all, and both of their careers are over. If that's an exclusively female trait, then keep it between the women, men don't want anything to do with that. We like Win-Win, and the con-artists and sociopaths like Win-Lose, but Lose-Lose is too irrational for men to tolerate. That's when we get alienated and walk away and let you do you. So that's what we're seeing in these movies, "hey boys, I have an idea, lets do a Lose-Lose" "No" "too late" "Damn"
Edit: Just met Robert Patrick at Indiana Comic Con, showed him this comment, and he confirmed everything, adding he caught up to the dirt bike on the first take and they subsequently had to increase its speed from 13 to 15 mph. He appreciated the comments and replies and autographed my T-1000 photo with “Call to John.” I am giddy. Apparently, Robert Patrick independently trained for his role as the T-1000 to not show fatigue while running. I read somewhere he did extensive cardio on his own to build up his stamina so his character's chase scenes would look as effortless as possible. I often fall victim to looking upon the past with rose-tinted glasses, but goddammit, who does that for a role anymore?

Henry cavill did some pretty dang hard training too for his role as Superman. Got jacked quick, definitely won’t feel good in 20 years or so though Edit: for anyone wondering, no, obviously getting jacked (even quickly) isn’t by itself going to be harmful, but the routines actors like Henry Cavill do to get properly pumped beyond normality for on screen appearances is definitely more hardcore. Not as hardcore as what bodybuilders do, but more involved than what normal guys hitting the gym are doing. Neither is this as intense as what guys like Joaquin phoenix do to get sickly and thin, but it’s something.

The most ridiculous part of this movies is how Dani became the leader of the resistance in the future not because she shows latent talent in the present or has good leadership skills. But because she told a really motivating speech to some scavengers.
@Char Aznable Just because too many straight white males were the heroes of most action films doesn't mean they all need to be killed off just for the females of color to steal the spotlight from them! If only the straight, white males who wrote and directed Dark Fate understood that. The RIGHT way to include women and girls of color as the heroes in new action movies is simple - write something original and do not stomp on old material! March 11, 2021, 3:08am
God I loved Vasquez in Aliens: "Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?" "No, have you?" And her delivery was just right on the money. A great character and a great performance from Jenette Goldstein.
Ahh when Hollywood let sassy female actors be themselves.....see we don't need said female actors (like that one who played She Hulk) to tell us she's cool or better than Hudson.....the banter between those two was awsome in Aliens. It's called chemistry and it was totally organic......also the other space marines were pretty good too even the ones who had small but impactful roles that we remember 37 years on. Oh and for the record....I"m a big Mackenzie Davis fan. Loved her in Halt and Catch Fire which is still a sleeper for AMC that I watched from beginning to end.
Yeahhhhhhhh, I'm with you on this one too. Normally I avoid spoilers like the plague, but I had a feeling I won't be watching this one either (last one I saw was _T3_ and I was _very_ disappointed with it, back in the days before wah!!men and SJWs and even reboots were a thing), so I listened to the whole thing. Wow, I _almost_ want to start drinking.
I was going to watch it but as the day to it's release gets closer the bad reviews are coming in. Not interested in spnding big bucks for a recycled movie plot
A Man cuz I know the SJWs will fuck it up beyond repair and I rather hear a comedic take on it that can sum it in 20 minutes rather than waste my time on an hour and a half film.
I STILL get chills during T2, when Sarah gets her first glimpse of what she thinks is the original terminator. Her response is so perfectly done- all that terror, frustration, and exhaustion in one sound and 2 seconds of action.
I rewatched it not long ago and afterwards I was angry - because it hit me just how the "get down!" scene was supposed to be a shocking plot twist, but it had been revealed well in advance that Arnold was the "good" Terminator this time.
I haven't seen that in like 15 years or more and I still remember what you are talking about. That was masterful. She has been a mental patient for years, with deep trauma and stress disorders, told she is insane every day and made to doubt herself, with nothing but her memories of the horror she experienced, which she is made to doubt and wonder if are even real even as they torment her and give her nightmares and flashbacks. Only to have the face of her nightmares come around a corner and look into her eyes, right in the middle of stressful situation. She is falling into her nightmares and her mind is on the verge of utterly breaking in terror and shock, and helplessness, not sure if it's real, but totally aware that if it is there is absolutely no way for her to save herself and no one can help her, she is trapped and can only recoil in horror. I was like 15 and I saw all that. That's pretty good for a few seconds of screentime.
It’s bizarre that the filmmakers seemed to think that they needed to remake/reimagine Terminator as female-centric when the original two already *were* female-centric; Sarah Conner was the clear protagonist and is the reason why the good guys win in both movies. So obviously the new filmmakers just had a problem with the concept of her doing things for the sake of someone else, namely protecting her child. Wow, what an awful motive for a character.....
Even worse, they bashed her and minimized her by saying “she was just a womb”, but don’t worry our new plain and boring character is better than that, she’s a leader! We don’t show that in the movie but believe us she’s a leader!
Just like Star Wars. Remember Princess Leia? the determined smart and ruthless leader of the rebelion? Nah, she was just a bimbo, Mary Sue is a much better character, so much that we don't even care to explain her background, parents, origins or anything resembling a character.
Just like in "The Rise of Skywalker", he refers to Poe's one-time companion as "Strong Female Character", and the black chick who looks like Lando's granddaughter as "Diverse Female Character"! Along with Sylvester Stallone as "Rambo Imposter" in "Last Blood". LOL
Funny how John Connor who could hack ATMs in his teens (showing his potential with machines) was replaced by an older character showing no potential or charisma as a leader.
The main issue I have with this film is the termination of John Connor. John Connor is one of the most important characters in the history of film and it was a really bad idea just to kill him off. Imagine if George Lucas killed off Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back. The Return of the Jedi would be a useless film. You can't kill off important characters in a film if you want to keep the franchise going. When I saw that opening scene where John gets killed I thought to myself: They just killed the legendary character John Connor and ousted him from the franchise like he didn't exist. However, I did love the action scenes, the character Grace, Mackenzie did a great job, and that's about it. One character and actions scenes doesn't make a movie great. It seems like they tried to make this film be on the level of Terminator 2 Judgement Day. and failed drastically. As you saw in the film they had references to T2. The playground scene at the end, the T-800 sacrificing himself at the end while Dani and Sarah stand above, and several other scenes.
Yes, handling John Connor that way - especially using young Edward Furlong, the way we remember him through all the thrills and suspense of T2! - was majorly stupid, and disrespectful I'll add. What's more, the killing wasn't nearly earned: There was no chase, no set up... just *BLAM* take that, audience! Like a giant middle finger.
For all intents and purposes they DID kill off Luke Skywalker (by making him a quitter and a loser) in the name of Wokeness (since you aren't allowed to have a cisgender white male protagonist anymore), along with the ancient Jedi temple/library, and then Luke used the Force to commit suicide and just evaporate at the end. Like Kylo Ren tells Rey to do, "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to." Disgusting.
I like "T3" even more now. Has the best action scenes, best FX that now, the main theme of Blue Man Group with Gavin Rossdale and the best ending. It has some objectionable things, but they are not very important. The issue with Sarah's death was because Linda was not interested in participating and Edward Furlong was having drug problems.
"We made this movie so that people can see that there can be strong female heroes that everyone can like." They completely forgot that we already had strong female heroes for some 40 years. Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor that are the most loved action heroes of all time. Ripley is my personal favorite action hero off all time.
Also, as we moved into the middle era of those, and into the next, we got new franchises that brought about some who may also have messy franchises, but flawed doesn't mean bad automatically. Such as there's lots of great to be found in the Underworld Franchise, and Kate Beckinsale's Selene was and has always been great. While there's some depth but less effort put in, Alice played my Milla Jovovich of Resident Evil also was there. Heck, Marvel's own Black Widow (not Captain Woke). Now we got...Batwoman.
I love Selene from the Underworld franchise and Lara Croft. They prove that you can be strong female character that is loved by the audience without having to give up their femininity. You don't have to be a man's substitute to be a great character
I understand that but did you watch the film? The future scene with Danni is literally laughable. I'm sorry but in no world is some soft young girl leading the human resistance against the machines. Go back and re watch terminator 1 or 2's future was scenes and the real feel of how desperate and brutal the following years after judgment day were. Little Danni Ramos just is not believable in that scenario I'm sorry. Not only is it not believable its highly unlikely in all reality (if this were reality) that a person like Dani would be anything remotely close to the leader of the human resistance. Just saying.
I'd truly be unable to imagine a terminator more dangerous than T1000. He was a legitimately scary, and had an amazing way about with the way he interacts with people not on his kill list. He shown charisma in talking to bystanders, but the second he spots the target, he just tears after them.
But I love how even when he’s showing that charisma, something still seems a little bit off but you can’t quite put your finger it. Just an incredible performance.
He was the best villain but less leathal than an older model with a gatling gun. This is in no way an endorsement of Terminator Salvation the worst movie in the series
I turned this movie on, watched the first ten minutes and shut it off. Killing the main character for the single purpose of replacing him with a female version of him is the worst writing I’ve ever heard.
I did the same thing. If you saw any of the earlier movies, how could you keep watching this (crap)!? We were the lucky ones. If you kept watching it, I bet you regret it lol.
@@Zarbon000 yall weren't lucky if you even so much as wasted the effort of pirating that dumpster fire(godforbid you paid lol.) The lucky ones are the ones who found out it released about a year or so after and saw the clips from UA-cam lmao
Ironically Terminator 1 and 2 are how you write the evolution of a strong female character. In Terminator 1 Sarah was a damsel in distress because she was in over her head. In T2 she had 10 years of training under her belt and didn’t just use physical strength she used her mind too. Like when she used a paperclip to free herself and used a syringe of bleach to hold a hostage.
Are these actors fucking conscious? I mean it! Do they realize how this egregious slop seriously diminishes their earlier work in the franchise and overall credibility?
She was mentally damaged and almost murdered an innocent. FLAWED. Hollywood can't write like this anymore. Female characters can't do any wrong and are all somehow victims and need to put down men. It's woke garbage.
The feminist agenda in this movie disgusts me. There's a line by Grace when she's telling Dani "you're not the mother of some man who saves us" - yeah because that was such a terrible thing in the original Terminator movie wasn't it!
Agreed. The worst part about it is that Sara Conner WASN'T just the mother of the man that led the resistance. She wasn't the leader of the resistance. For years she WAS the fucking resistance. She was fighting the war solo. And at the end of Terminator 2 it became clear that she didn't give birth to the leader of a resistance. She saved her son from ever having to take that burden to begin with. To give away your life, your happiness, your very sanity, to save a world that has condemned you because it was the right thing to do? To spare your child a terrible burden and give him a chance to live a normal life? That is a powerful female character that's not easily matched. But Hollywood had to fucking Hollywood and ruin it all. There never should of been a sequel to T2. Ever.
If anything that ought to empower women, knowing without them, a generation of competent men and soldiers cant be brought forward. Yes it’s a risk because of all the pain and death of war, but any woman who is told their son is the non-biblical saviour of humanity itself, will have understandable and believable cause to become a soldier and a fighter. Feminists these days believe that simply being a woman is enough to empower, but you’ve got no philosophical or physical basis to build yourself on other than chromosomes and sex organs - of which femininity tried to depose before being hijacked. It’s about purpose and carrying on in a state where humanity is literally at the receiving end of domination and annihilation. Regardless of gender, whoever rises to that fight, no matter the consequence, is someone to look to.
@Patrick Sylvia It's not "just a movie" ya bloody normie! Ever hear of propaganda? Just like academia and politics, radical feminists like Kathleen Kennedy have infiltrated Hollywood via gender quotas and have destroyed and emasculated strong male heroes. I highly doubt you're a man "Patrick", as you're using the same ad hominem shaming tactics a woman would.
This people are pitiful and pathetic. They want anger but to be honest why would we be? they are so bad its best to just ignore the c**ts at this point.
I finally watched this, as it was free on Film 4. It was awful as I was expecting, but that scene where they find Arnie, enjoying a ball game with a beer?! I was like: "oh right, this is a comedy?" I didn't even make it to the end of the film. I gave up when they were driving that air tight Hummer round underwater. FFS.
I remember back in the day when the terminators actually had to do some detective work and seek out weapons and stuff. Now they're just cartoon characters.
Yeah. Such a poor writing in these new movies. Back in the day, people created movies with passion. They were exploring new things and ideas. Today, they just copy and paste everything. No passion. Plus they are pushing this horrible gender agenda. Yuck.
The funny thing to me is that it's actually an insult to women that producers feel the need to *FORCE* a "strong female" presence when it should just come naturally depending on the film. The "strong female lead" has been done really well since the beginning of time... in the same franchise no less, and some of the best characters of all time are female. These clowns just don't get it.
Robovader Never really liked him anyways. Sure he made legendary flicks but nowadays, like Ridley Scott, don't really care much about originality or creativity and have no problem allowing their very own franchises to be butchered just to make a bit of coin
@smakfu Well, he NEVER made an original movie to begin with. He made some nice flicks in the long ago past (Aliens and Terminator, basically, though he never sunk to Holland Emerich levels, I give him that), but all his movies are rippoffs of something. I wouldn't mind (I don't think ripoffs are necessarily bad things) if he only acknowledged them for what they are. Aliens is a ripoff of several war movies mixed with cheap horror moves that completely removes all that was actually good, scary and suspenseful about the original movie. Terminator rode the wave of 80s horror/sci-fi movies, otherwise I doubt it would be remembered to this day. And those are his good movies.
The nick-names (e.g., "androgynous-thing," "generic-teenage-girl," "apple-genius," etc.) are perfect for conveying how little the audience care about these less-than-video-game characters.
They should have turned all the vehicles into tricked out low riders then had them go off road and get stuck in a wash. ...La cucaracha horns going off.
😂😂😂 I don't think we need to be empowered by fictional characters when there's thousands of real life females, dealing with real life problems and solving them not thanks to luck and unrealistic script but work and dedication. I personally don't care about characters gender, everyone can be inspired or impressed by positive actions of someone. No matter their skin color, age or sex.
When you try that hard to be woke; it ain't woke. Terminator 1 and 2 were woke without even trying, before the concept even existed. Sarah Connor was badass all the way through, without any agenda pushing or man-bashing. That's what "woke" movies should aim for, not... this.
100%. They could've ended it at T2 with the "no fate but what we make it", and it would've been great. I could even accept T3 with the "some things are inevitable [judgement day], and we need to make the best of it" being an ending, despite the beginning of the decline in quality. But no, they just had to keep pumping them out.
I still can't believe how they've managed to destroy such a badass universe of movie potential they had here. First 2 movies were perfect, after that, WTF happened again and again.
Wow, the first terminator must have made you pretty furious then right? I mean, that ending is total feminist, misandrist nonsense! This is also like the third time John Connor being killed has been used in the entire Terminator franchise. Not a new idea devised by your feminist-sjw-zombie arch-nemeses.
@@BeggarsNight How is it feminist, misandrist nonsense? It was apolitical. Just a mom doing whatever she can to keep her unborn child safe. Something leftists wouldn't understand, since they believe murdering unborn children is a far better and virtuous idea.
This franchise should have been left alone after Judgement Day. The only good thing that came out of continuing it was Christian Bale's tantrum on Salvation set.
B briggs A DP fucked up repeatedly on set when he continuously walked right into the shot as they were filming Salvation, and Christian Bale began cursing the fuck outta him.
When I found out Edward Furlong was coming back to play John Connor and that Linda Hamilton would be in it, I was stoked. When I found out what happens to John and that it happens in the very beginning of the movie, I just could not bring myself to watch it. For me, there's Terminator 1 and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and that's it!
John Conner is terminated less than a minute into this film, that’s all the reason any fan needs to not even bother with this and to put it bluntly it’s TLJ of the Terminator Saga.
It's worse that you think. Non other than James Cameron has said in interviews that he HATES when sequels kill off main characters people like from previous movies for no reason. This was his response on Alien 3 when they killed off of his characters from Aliens. So, for him to approve the killing of John Conner right at the start, means he's just pissing on the fans at this point and does not give a shit as long as he gets a political correct new movie.
Every female characters in this movie seem to try hard on looking and acting bad ass than being personable and relatable. Seems to be the trend with all the female led movies these days.
Robert Patrick's portrayal of the T-1000 was flawless but it is a myth that the T-1000 never blinked. He actually blinks in 2 scenes. The first is when he is questioning the foster parents and the second is when says "say, that's a nice bike" after the Pescadero break-out. He is trying to be as human as possible in those scenes so there is a reason for it. That's me just being a nerd, lol.
One of our reviewers called it "Feminator" for the strong female characters. Also, teaching the John Connor replacement girl to shoot was hilarious. "It is all in your mind".
So in the two attempts at re-boots, they have John be the main villain of one and killed him off as a kid in the other....jeez I wonder why they failed
@@srikrishna2561 if they didn’t tell people in the trailer that John became a machine and even cut the beginning scene out where he was attacked when Kyle was sent back, it would been a good shock to the audience when he showed up and is revealed as a machine.

I've seen the original Terminator movie so many times that I could tell just by the electricity surge noise of the T-800 being crushed by Sarah Conner in the clip at the end of the video, that it was the remastered movie clip as opposed to the original. I loved Terminator 1, 2, and found the third installment tolerable because I liked the end. Judgment Day being inevitable and Arnold leading John Conner to a safe bunker to ride out the nuclear war without him knowing was a great twist in my opinion. Everything since has been trash. I had high hopes for Salvation as it took place during the war and Christian Bale playing John Conner seemed like a plus. That plot set up was the movie I wanted to see made since I was a kid who saw Terminator 2 in the theater. I was legitimately pissed off leaving the theater after Salvation, what a fucking dud. Now we get gender fluid terminators and southern border allegory. What a nonsensical cash grab this franchise has become.
T1 is a perfect story and can only be hurt by more exposition. T2 is only good because Cameron had total control of the project. The rest are crap because of Rule #1.
I didn't get to see how it played out, but I was pretty happy with the first part of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. There was just one continuity error that bugged me, the head of the Terminator going forward in time with them. It's well established from the first movie that only living things can go through the portal.
Terminator 3 was always underrated. It was always going to look bad because it directly followed T2, but unlike literally every other Terminator that came after it, it actually accomplished what it tried to do, and was a sequel that made sense continuing the timeline of the Terminator, without insulting the older movies. Sarah Connor lived a full life and died peacefully, John tried to move on and believe that Judgment Day had been averted, but in the end was plagued with that same paranoia his mother had, and the set up for the plot made a bit more sense to explain how a third Terminator could go back. Best of all, it set things up so that they could go into the war with Skynet without needing to come up with more excuses for time travel, as the war with the machines would be interesting on its own. T4 *tried* to be a sequel that built off of that foundation...but utterly failed in doing what it set out to do, dooming the franchise to hackneyed reboot attempts.
@@Thedarkbunnyrabbit I agree - Terminator 3 had it flaws and issues, but it was a solidly average movie. It wasn't the A+ rollercoaster of it's progenitors, so it compared badly and got a lot of stick it only kind of deserved. It takes a long time to get going, some of the action sequences are much longer than they needed to be, the T-X terminator could never have lived up to the terrifying T-1000 in either concept or Patrick's stunningly understated execution. The first half of the movie is formulaic and predictable, but then half way through the script starts to play with your assumptions and expectations, subtle hints lead to not-so-subtle hints about how this is all going to go down, and then the movie pulls another switcheroo on you right at the end - an ending that pulls the movie up from an uneven mess to a clumsily-executed but eventually intelligent story. No, it's not a masterpiece, not by a long shot. Compared to the rest of Terminator franchise, it's firmly on the right side of good-enough.
@@stoneymahoney9106 Honestly, I think that's a pretty accurate assessment. T3 wasn't a blockbuster masterpiece like T1 and T2 are considered, so it was always not going to hold up by comparison, but it was very solid and an important transition movie to move into a different style that would no longer require rehashing 'and then another terminator was sent back somehow'. T4 didn't know WHAT it wanted to do - since they swapped out the ending at the last minute - and every other one since then has tried to be a reboot and failed horribly.
@@google_must_die Eh, debatable. At least Genisys tried to bring something new and had some spin to the plot. This one is just a worse remake of the first three movies. The biggest plot twist of Dark Fate is that the whole plot doesn't revolve around John Connor but instead around Jane Connor. Scratch that. The biggest plot twist is that James Cameron forgot how to write a story.
The only thing I really remember from the movie was my anger at the line where Androgynous Thing says "Dani, you are not just the mother of some man who saves the future". Within the movie it completely undermines Sarah Connor as a character by suggesting that her only contribution to altering the future was accidentally getting pregnant, while at the same time, in real life it shows an appalling level of disrespect to Linda Hamilton's decades of dedication to the franchise.
And correct me if I am wrong, isn't this said while Linda / Sarah is sitting right there? Totally spits in her face figuratively and literally. Who the fuck cares if shes just the mother of the future hero. She essentially fights a Terminator and later teaches John everything she knows. Fuck this film .
@ X XXX Yes. Besides Dark Fate being basically a T1/T2 reboot, your comment hit another nail on the head. How could they so callously belittle Sarah Connor/Linda Hamilton as though she really hadn't been that important. Just one more of the many reasons to hate it.

The 'Kick Ass Marine" actress (Janette Goldstein) given as an example of how to play a strong female character (Vasquez in Aliens) just so happened to also be in Terminator 2 as John's Adoptive Mum.
Yeah, it's a scary world when 13 year olds look like their 30, and 30 year olds look like their 13. I miss the good old days of just having kids be kids in movies. Yeah, they were terrible at acting, but at least it felt like they were kids.
Cameron has very good instincts but he's a gambler (meaning his style is that he doesn't know how to not take huge risks) and he paints with bold colors. When he does that and it works, it works extremely well and he comes off as a genius. But sooner or later, risk taking comes back to bite you.
All I was thinking was “so do I bitch she ain’t special.” Yeah let’s send a drug addict lesbian back in time to defend us in a broken timeline where every Overpowered enemy was made of liquid metal but sure let’s keep sending back outdated models. I think they did this so that the T-DYK3 didn’t seem too overpowered as a protagonist but they failed that. Also Sarah Connor seemed almost displaced in the entire movie. She never felt like she was a major part of the movie.
Lmao!!! So true! They should have just stuck the first attempt of Salvation, because as time went on during these, we would have finally gotten the actual looking future war film that we have been wanting since T2!!! Also the tired formula of sending a Terminator and a protector back in time, would have been OVER!!!
Salvation did set up a good premise that should have been expanded upon in later films. It wasn't a bad film as many have pointed out, it was just incomplete. By now we would have been at the epoch of the series where we would have gotten an epic future war and final showdown with skynet, but naa, fuck it, lets just keep doing the same old shtick. Has nobody learned from the mcu? Just listen to the fans and give them what they want dammit! Why am I getting a cold shiver down my back thinking about Ghostbusters 3 now? Please God don't let that happen! Please!!!
And what is the point of those lies (by the website) anymore when it's a total failure/bomb/no sequel happening? Like give it up, it's not captain marvel who is probably getting two sequels, or even wonder woman 1984 (also total trash, and I absolutely loved the first one and her other DCEU appearances). Also, Ww84 and woke fate paint the same picture: reviews comparing to greatness, only to actually be comparable to the worst (WW84 is not richard donner superman, it's the awful 4th film, woke fate is not the best since T2, it's probably the most bad of them all)
I thought you were joking... RT = 70% critics, 82% audience, IMDB = 6.2. How? At least Meta Critic has it at a 3.9 user score... Other than buying reviews or using bots, I do not think there is any way this movie scores over the equivalent of a 4/10.
My favorite part of the movie is how the transport plane is broken into two pieces (with very different trajectories), a vehicle falls out (with a parachute), and a couple of terminators. Despite traveling across a vast area at great speed, not only do all of the parts/contents of the plane happen to land within 100 yards of each other, but they happen to land on the Hoover Dam.... Not just near the Hoover Dam, but actually the parachuted Humvee lands directly on the Hoover Dam (pretty much dead center on the span as well). I'm willing to give some leeway and suspend my disbelief to some degree, but this is about the most distracting sequence since the Fast and the Furious 6's endless runway fight where the sequence rolled out at very high speeds for 13+ minutes. That's one, very long, straight runway. Over 5 times the longest runway in the world. It's amazing how really bad this movie is, even from a mindless action movie aspect.
sir dynamite that was leaked a long time ago. Normally I don’t listen to leaks but this movie looked like dog shit from the start. I saw some spoilers and leaks and was almost shocked of how bad I thought it would be. I sucked it up and bought the movie anyways and went to go see it with my wife who also thought it was shit.
Jimmy Turner as soon as you watch a trailer, if you think the movie is going to be shit and are second guessing buying it.. look up some reviews / spoilers. I’m usually not shocked which is disappointing to say the least. Only movie I was dead wrong about was The Joker with Joaquin Phoenix. I thought it didn’t look convincing and I thought it just looked weird. Went and watched the movie and he was an amazing Joker. Movies like this that require CGI, mostly action based movies are really hit or miss these days. I didn’t enjoy the movie. My youngest kid liked it but he’s into anything that makes shit go boom. Kind of sad for me though. I’m an OG terminator fan lol I watched the second one with my dad... this new film was more or less trying to just draw in new fans, not keep the ones that have been here for 25 years who bought the movie anyways.

I didn't hear him calling linda's character granny and Arnold character some nickname because he respects them. The movie doesn't respect the older characters and even shit's on T1 and T2 . How can you respect a movie that made a terminator retire, enjoy his pension and form a family? Is this aimed at kids , cause if it tries to be for grownups, that's just laughable.
Robert Patrick's terminator scared the crap out of me when I first seen him. I never knew who would be killed because Patrick was just so intimidating. He played an amazing part. Oh man the good old days...
I thought the original Terminator going after Sarah Conner was pretty intimidating. That thing wasn't particularly "bondy" with humans and also posed to be a disruptive issue for the also intimidated waitress.
I read an article, that tried to breakdown, why this movie flopped at the cinema, it went into great detail, about expectation, the franchise having let people down in the past, a laundry list of explanations, but the journalist refused to countenance the idea, that maybe, the movie was just bad. Indeed the journalist had nothing but praise for the films action scenes, it's themes etc. It's as if these people, live in some alternate reality, devoid of anything remotely identifiable as good taste or even basic sense. The film was awful. Thats why it flopped. It wasn't for any other reason, than the film being bad.
Obviously the journalist got paid. (It’s like for example a review of Ford vs Ferrari where the critic gave a bad criticism saying “the movie doesn’t show strong women” or the professional critics that disliked Joker because “it’s a terrorist white man movie”)
Pretty sure I read that. And everything you said was correct. They also really didn't give enough detail about the "movie flopped at the cinema" part but there praising is why that part doesn't work either. If they'd critiqued it even if they liked it, then you could further question why Linda Hamilton returning should've helped, etc. However, you can't. It looked bad, it was bad, it is bad, and everyone saw that. While no prior terminator movie didn't at least profit. Heck, Salvation (which like 3, has actual fans) made more money than 3 even inflated, genesis, and woke fate. During a recession just hit. Proving the interest was still there, and can still be there if a "future wars" movie was actually done by people with talent and not total hacks pushing wokeism and bad writing.
It’s understandable, I mean I wanted so bad for it to be the redeeming film I have waited for so long , that I defended it in my own mind the entire time I sat in the theatre choking it down and smiling like I was eating a terrible meal that a loved one had tried so hard on that I couldn’t hurt their feelings and be honest about how disgusting what I was ingesting really was. Idk if any other franchise has made me so sad no joke.
wow. Gladi I didn't waste my time on that one. Funny you mentioned Jenette Goldstein as "Vasquez" in "Aliens." i was surprised to find that she also played John's mother in T2.

Well since John died young and that time line was wiped there was no her becoming a legend in anyone's mind in the future
All of a sudden, Terminator 3 doesn't seem like such a bad movie...
All of the sequels look good in comparison to this garbage. And Terminator 3 was never bad per say, just poorly executed.

That’s crazy a movie can give someone “chills”
It is a timeless masterpiece.
@@zombiedodge1426True, that also ground my gears. How recklessly they tossed that great twist out the window.

There is actually a what if out there, where if Luke did die, Leah would take up the saber.

I don’t compare. Bad is bad and will always be bad. Making worse sequels doesn’t do anything to help the crap that came before.

"We made this movie so that people can see that there can be strong female heroes that everyone can like."
They completely forgot that we already had strong female heroes for some 40 years.
Let's please not forget Buffy 'The Vampire Slayer' Summers, mkay?

The ironing is delicious 🙃

Ironically Terminator 1 and 2 are how you write the evolution of a strong female character. In Terminator 1 Sarah was a damsel in distress because she was in over her head. In T2 she had 10 years of training under her belt and didn’t just use physical strength she used her mind too. Like when she used a paperclip to free herself and used a syringe of bleach to hold a hostage.
goddamn I forgot about the syringe of bleach! she actually put it in his neck!! that was so raw
Are these actors fucking conscious? I mean it! Do they realize how this egregious slop seriously diminishes their earlier work in the franchise and overall credibility?

Me after watching Genisys and Dark Fate, Terminator 3 is actually quite decent Terminator movie
Those two trash fires actually make Terminator Salvation look good by comparison.
@@stevepalpatine2828 I thought salvation was pretty good
@@Thedarkbunnyrabbit I agree - Terminator 3 had it flaws and issues, but it was a solidly average movie.

Yeah, it's a scary world when 13 year olds look like their 30, and 30 year olds look like their 13. I miss the good old days of just having kids be kids in movies. Yeah, they were terrible at acting, but at least it felt like they were kids.
We need a crowd funded Bridget Jones’s diary remake with an all male cast written by Guy Ritchie. Tit for tat

Cameron has very good instincts but he's a gambler (meaning his style is that he doesn't know how to not take huge risks) and he paints with bold colors. When he does that and it works, it works extremely well and he comes off as a genius. But sooner or later, risk taking comes back to bite you.
Cameron hates what the did to his characters in alien 3 but it’s okay to kill j c what a dumb ass hypocrite
not a single good movie from him in decades. Maybe it was just luck, or the people he worked with, which made the movies great.
"she needs drugs and supplies to stabilise herself"
Yeah that pretty much sums up all of Hollyweird these days :(
Yeeeesh. Take it back you bigot:(
All I was thinking was “so do I bitch she ain’t special.” Yeah let’s send a drug addict lesbian back in time to defend us in a broken timeline where every Overpowered enemy was made of liquid metal but sure let’s keep sending back outdated models.
I think they did this so that the T-DYK3 didn’t seem too overpowered as a protagonist but they failed that. Also Sarah Connor seemed almost displaced in the entire movie. She never felt like she was a major part of the movie.
"These days?" Try "all of its history".
And the audience.

When this movie bombs at the box office we will finally have a whole trilogy of failed Terminator trilogies!
Deven Keough a full failure collection
Lmao!!! So true! They should have just stuck the first attempt of Salvation, because as time went on during these, we would have finally gotten the actual looking future war film that we have been wanting since T2!!!
Also the tired formula of sending a Terminator and a protector back in time, would have been OVER!!!
I hope i'm the one who coined the term "Flopinator"!
Please!!!
We can only hope it flops..if it doesnt we will get more of this WOKE trash
My question... How does this have an 82% audience rating on rotten tomatoes when nearly everybody hated it? I smell B.S.
Payed critics
Payed? PAYÉD? O lálá, a Frenchman! 😂
Skynet.
I mean Genisys.
Doh! Legion.
Aw, fuck off, film!
It's amazing how really bad this movie is, even from a mindless action movie aspect.
when john died the only other person in the theatre shouted "bruh"
sir dynamite that was leaked a long time ago. Normally I don’t listen to leaks but this movie looked like dog shit from the start. I saw some spoilers and leaks and was almost shocked of how bad I thought it would be. I sucked it up and bought the movie anyways and went to go see it with my wife who also thought it was shit.
@@conormcdaddyofficialdickri312 I didn't know it was a thing till after the movie came out
Jimmy Turner as soon as you watch a trailer, if you think the movie is going to be shit and are second guessing buying it.. look up some reviews / spoilers.

Bret Frick dude I legitimately forgot solo and rogue one were movies - after someone was talking about the last 3 to 4 Star Wars movies being kinda crap I thought they meant TLJ TFA and Revenge
I think T3 was a good action movie but kind of mediocre for a Terminator movie. It was better the ones that came after it though.
That was the last well crafted movie in the franchise. It ends there as far as I’m concerned.

Not really. The movie is pretty entertaining.
@B4 freedomfighter how was it the cringiest? Terminator 3 and Genisys had much worse moments. Both of those talk to the hand scenes in T3 and the TX making it's tits bigger.
@@drzaious8136 he gives them nicknames because the characters aren't fully fledged out and simply uninteresting.
@Főfasírozó yeah, his eyes never smiled, they remained cold and dead. Good acting.
I thought the original Terminator going after Sarah Conner was pretty intimidating. That thing wasn't particularly "bondy" with humans and also posed to be a disruptive issue for the also intimidated waitress.
Same here. Could not write it better due to my poor english skills.
An awful story with terrible actors. Not a formula for success lol.
maybe the journalist was afraid of being "cancelled" and called a sexist racist incel pig if he dared to say something bad about the movie.
wow. Gladi I didn't waste my time on that one.
Funny you mentioned Jenette Goldstein as "Vasquez" in "Aliens." i was surprised to find that she also played John's mother in T2.
