Richard I'm envious. The longest hike I've ever done was from Gettysburg, PA to Williamsport, MD following the path of retreat of the Confederate army from Gettysburg after the battle. 🙂🙂🙂KEEP GOING!!!
Wow, Richard. Pure magic. Beautiful scenery and you are not alone on your journey. I am so glad that I can join you on your adventure and thank you for letting me experience your journey with you. Just remember to stretch in the morning and night and hopefully you brought some mole skin to help your feet out. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you survived the night and continue on your journey while following your nose!
Stretching is so important, and I was stretching a few times during the day. I was not stiff in legs at all however at home I was a bit but better now 👍
Every time I see your videos it totally amazes me how do you do it so professionally I like to think for people like me who can’t go out in the wilderness because of illness seeing you do these things make so much to me God bless you keep on making these great videos
Oh Richard, never leave a tent door open in anything but the most settled weather.. I love your humility on your films Richard. You are a true gentleman. Notes.. On the morning when you used up the last of the water on coffee with no idea when you could fill up again, I'd have foregone the coffee and sipped as I walked. Just my way. When you came to the water stop and filled up and took a swig and carried on, I'd have taken quite a few swigs, filled up again and then walked on. It's about averages and giving yourself the best chance. Expecting a storm! Double guy and double peg the tent.. Stormproofing the tent.. I can't wait for the next one. At least there is a toilet for an emergency shelter..
@@DayTripperAdventures One more thing Richard, an experienced outdoorsman knows when to bail! He doesn't press on regardless fighting the elements, but humbly retires a much wiser adventurer than when be first set out..
@@DayTripperAdventures Can't wait. I just watched Claire (Wild Beare)getting blown away as well in the mountains. Mid March when I was over was so nice for 17 days, but UK weather is so unpredictable.
Such an adventure and so professionally produced. Loved your kit, looks like it’s all top quality. However I’m still worried for you on how you’re going to cope with the oncoming weather in this overnight camp. Hoping all will be well. 😎❤️🙏🏻🇬🇧🇵🇭
Wow there sure are some beautiful views there! Lucky to have the toilet facilities there that were open at the YHA place - I guess if the weather had got too bad, you could have taken refuge there in an emergency 😆
Aahh… cliffhanger Richard, literally 😳! I think you’ve done brilliantly to get this far, with minimal aches and pains and mishaps… all down to really good prep and practice ? Sorry to hear you have had to bail out, but until this point it’s been a roaring success 👍 Really well done… I’m waiting with baited breath for part 2 …
Thanks HB - no matter how much you prepare you never know what the mountains will throw at you. It did help though and I learnt so much more on this trip. Part 2 out on Tuesday 👍
Absolutely superb Richard. I felt the spirit of the start - I mean it was as still as a lily pond to. And hey great disguise the tent and the cairns - pyramids all round. I'm really enjoying your excitement. We all know that vibe. Ha ha, the YHA - I'd doss in the toilet. Awesome valley I have to say. I'm keen to see how the tent held up and what force the storm was. Good going so far. Have a cool week. Mark
You have to use what is available Mark and assess the situation. I don’t mind some rough nights as long as I get a few quiet ones to catch up sleep later 👍😄
Thought I’d come see all your journey. I remember now, I think I did see one episode (the one where you had a fall and needed to take time out). I’m subbed to way too many channels so I tend to miss things I didn’t intend to miss. I think I love the Lakes the best. They have it all. Cu on the next one 👍🏼
Well up until this point it looked like a great hike and both those camp spots looked great.( I've always wanted to stay at Black Sail ). But your captions do make this coming storm look ominous... Also now liking your chair set up and hope to get the new Sea to Summit version. p.s. think i'll look into some contingencies for Scotland next week...just in case of similar. 👍
The mountains are unpredictable and the remoteness means we have to think differently to usual camps. Hope Scotland goes well it’s always best to have a back up plan just in case of worst case scenario 👍
What an adventure! Looks absolutely amazing, thanks for taking us all along 👍 can't wait for part 2, at least we know by you posting the videos that you survived 😄👍 excellent video sir 👍
I’ve been looking forward to following your Coast to Coast adventure Richard. Glad you had a couple of nice weather days to start. The weather can still be especially brutal still this time of year. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds
Looking forward to watching these as I am doing the C2C in Sept - admittedly only carrying a day pack and moving from hotel to hotel - luggage is transferred for us. Quite familiar with this bit as I only live in Whitehaven and I try to do St Bees to home 4 or 5 times a year.
Currently watching Part 5. Some of it is really making me wonder why I am spending as much as I am to do it - but still, a hotel every night seems very appealing
