You cannot do a classic rock compilation album without this song. THIS IS CLASSIC ROCK! At its finest. This song was playing in the background of EVERY SINGLE party i attended in the late 70's. Every doobie that was rolled and every kegger drained this song was blaring in the back ground. WHEN ROCK WAS ROCK
Les Smith 45 you are totally right I agree with you foghat the greatest classic rock bands that ever was they are still the greatest is present time a phenomenal classic rock band 🎶🎵🎶🎵
I was a teenager during the 70s and I grew up with this rock music, the greatest rock generation, now I can reflect back on the great times we had and the great music that was created during my teenage years, what a great decade to have been alive.
my sister drug ( lol) me around with her. She was 7 yrs older. She didn't have a choice. Or I'd cry. .. NO wonder why I am sooo old school. "Obsessed"w/ the good music!!
R.I.P. Craig MacGregor who passed away yesterday from a long battle with cancer. Dave passed 18 years ago and Rod about 10 years ago. I knew all these guys personally and I can tell you they were the nicest most professional musicians I have ever met. They should have been as big or bigger than any of the monster bands from the 70's and 80's. These are 4 of the greatest musicians to ever play. See you guys on the other side.
One of my favorites. I knew them (not personally) when they were Savoy Brown. Lonesome Dave was awesome and I can't walk down my basement stairs without thinking about Rod.
Some of the Best Rock music in history from the 70's. use to listen to Foghat on 8-track . still play Foghat LIVE Album on my Turntable. still great today as ever .
I love these guys. Had their 8 track in my car when I was a Senior. Saw these guys in Indianapolis the summer I graduated(1978). Totally awesome. Brings back tons of memories, all good.
When you see Dave Peverett absent of any list of Great rock Singers, you know it's a big injustice. And when you see Rod Price out of any list of Great Metal Guitar Players, you know that's another big injustice.
RIP - Lonesome Dave! I cranked so many weights in High School listening to the FOGHAT LIVE ALBUM, Played drums TOO, & Rocked my Ass off at so many parties to the same Thank YOU BAND one & All, x 1,000,000++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Killer pipes and a nasty tone. Dave always seemed to have a good time on stage, even when he was sick. Thanks for the memories..you are very much missed.
I had just finished my time in the army and was getting ready to leave Germany and come back home to Kentucky when this song was released and loved listening to it on the radio headphones on my flight back home!!! remember how cool the beat was and that slide guitar had to coolest sound...A truly awesome song that was and it DID relate to my flight home to..IT was a slow ride...8 hours long!!!That was ok though...I had a few of the drinks of the tiny bottles of jack on my way..LOL!Thks 4 this:-)
Sure sounds Great hearing Lonesome Dave's intro...again. After all these years, man....bought this album new (Fool For the City) & played this tune incessantly. Awesome Live Band......had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times 73, 74 & 75. Still one of the best bands of that era (in my opinion) & THAT covers ALOT of GREAT BANDS! Aerosmith, ZZTOP, Montrose, Lynyrd Skynyrd (73&76) B.O.C., Bad Co. Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Marshall Tucker to name a few that I saw & these guys ripped withthebestofem!
Seen fog hat live in 1978 on my 18th birthday. Thinking this might have been the same live concert. Such an underrated band. Love their music. Take the slow ride boys.
one of the best forgotten acts, ever. i opened for them a few times in the late 80's, when the drummer was the only one left from the original band, but they were still great with replacement parts, lol
Much like April Wine, our “in house” rock band up here in Montreal, a fantastic 5 man group, born and bred Canadian band. Just never made it huge , but a solid Gold and Platinum album group. Had ALL their albums, music of my lifetime.
I agree without a doubt better than any band today. The song meaning is about intercourse, reason starts off slow then speeds up add the song is based on the length man can last inside a woman.
My first concert was foghat, 1976,I think, LA somewhere, don't even remember the show, way to many drugs, woke up the next day back in Ontario with a hat that said fog on it,I was 14years old, wow.
Rod Price. Genius. This band knows Rock N Roll. He is just playing slide guitar to get that full rich sound. I seen them play a few times but it was way after lead singer Lonesome Dave had passed away. But they still knew how to give such a great live concert afterwards. Sad that Rod Price passed away but his playing guitar will live on.
🔊🎵Rod Price was a true slide master🔊🎶🎸🔥🔊🎼!! Dave was a awesome rhythm guitarist and a grand vocalist. Now that they are both gone, why do they continue to be FOGHAT? They will never sound like this ever again🔊🎸🎶🔊🎤🎙🎼🔊🎸.
hitchhiked 2 hours to see them for my 1st concert in 1979 when i was 15... pat travers opened for them... awesome concert... lol... took me like 5 hours of trying to hitchhike to get home though
I just bought the first 13 albums on CD. $46 on Amazon. Oh, those memories are flooding back. I reconnected with an old acquaintance of mine from 1972-78 who used to listen to Foghat with me. Who says Rock 'n Roll is a bad thing?
Good memories seeing these guys live in Seattle Washington several times with my 2 older brothers. There both gone now but memories live on FOGHAT FOREVER RIP BROTHERS
I saw Lonesome Dave with a Christian band in about 1983. A few years after that, my band opened for Foghar in Dallas for a great show. Dave was still alive then and this singer was still with them. Keep rocking, Foghat. Thanks for the memories.
I will never forget. When in the sitcom news radio, the manager steven root has a near death experience, he hears this tune from like beyond calling him back. Chilling!!!
Attended a concert at the Greenville memorial auditorium with the Little River Band opening for Foghat. 1978. Only a hundred or so showed up. I was to close for the feedback for sure. My ears still ring. I chucked a handful of 714's, a couple of concert sized legs of Colombian gold to both bands . The band wanted to know where everyone was . Then said tell them what they missed and played until midnight almost! The masters of feedback!
Out of all the Rock deaths during the last 20yrs, I found Lonesome Dave's the hardest for me to accept. That guy wore his SNEAKERS until the end! And THEN Rod Price! Two of my HEROES gone! But thanks for the concert memories of the '70s!!!
back in 1978, on the last day of school, Fogahat, 38 special and Foreigner with Lynyrd Skynyrd that took place at either springfield mass or hartford, ct....

I'm right there with you my brother. Soooo many memories. The good ole days imho.
Oh yes you can! Foghat did not age well, stuck in the 70's, leave them there.

Amen to that! Was just thinking about Aerosmith shutting it down, they don't make music like this anymore.
The 70's, what a kick-ass rock n roll decade.
The 70's, now I'm 70! 😃

One of my favorites. I knew them (not personally) when they were Savoy Brown. Lonesome Dave was awesome and I can't walk down my basement stairs without thinking about Rod.
This band should totally be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What a joke that they're not.
@@davidkemp444 A true reminder to get your cholesterol checked. Rod was a master. What a gift to the world.
Already there buddy...
Lonesome Dave. The ultimate front man, the definition of a rock star...
I am sure glad that concerts back then were 'filmed'......best period in Rock.

Absolute classic rock-n-roll kick ass music of the 70s, which I am proud to say I was a teen, did my share of enjoying the time!

They don't have bands like this anymore! I need a time machine!
Let's go👍👍👍
you were in a time machine and still are, just moving forward. ---Me

one of the most underrated bands in history. davey johnston sits up with geddy lee, john paul joned and entwhistle as a bassist.
Those boys can rock!!!
My old man's favorite band of all time, I can't argue with that!
When this band was in town, everybody was there. People would start to party a few days ahead of time. What a smokin band.
I had just finished my time in the army and was getting ready to leave Germany and come back home to Kentucky when this song was released and loved listening to it on the radio headphones on my flight back home!!! remember how cool the beat was and that slide guitar had to coolest sound...A truly awesome song that was and it DID relate to my flight home to..IT was a slow ride...8 hours long!!!That was ok though...I had a few of the drinks of the tiny bottles of jack on my way..LOL!Thks 4 this:-)
one of the best live shows i've ever seen..rockin guitars..bangin drums..yea..slow ride
Well I don't have a trained ear or anything but I know when a song rocks and Foghat rocks. Rod Price, king of the slide. RIP brother.
I say one of the greatest live bands ever. Wish this was a better quality so you could see how good they were
They are one of the greatest bands to ever play. 100% seen them live 1978. Most amazing band
Brings me back to my 8 track days! Love Foghat

Bought this album a year after it came out age 14, and I pretty much wore it out!
Very under rated band. Never gained huge success but deserved a bit more than they got.
monmixer that’s BS. They were huge. Don’t know when you grew up but i did through the 70’s.
Not true. They were highly successful. You're wrong. EIGHT GOLD RECORDS!
@@TheScooter1963 much of their success was in the US, not so much in their native UK or here in Australia.....love Foghat
