That tip about the wooden skewers is super handy, although I'd probably use smaller cocktail sticks for Lego or else I'd have to spear the figure 🤣👍 Really helpful video as always, thanks! 🔥👏
OMG! OMG! I have NEVER thought about going into a pet store to shop for diorama accessories for a photo shoot, just the other day, I was on Amazon looking for cheap underwater background and sea weed pieces for an Aquaman photo shoot, THXZZZ SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! For this informative piece of info.
Love the tips, definitely going to try some things here. As a cheap alternative, I built my suspension stand (number 9 on the list) out of PVC tubing (schedule 40). Maybe not as 100% stable as the pro version, but it's super-cheap, easy to find, and can hold together with friction so it's easy to set up, break down, and customize as you need.
One thing I recommend that's good for spreading is a sifter it is perfect to get a cool snow effect or spread dirt all over the background. Also if you have an old fish tank it could be cool to get an under water effect to make bubbles!
Well, my shopping list just got longer lol Been thinking about the fish tank logs as diorama props. There are some pretty good looking ones out there. Another one I've seen people use and thought of picking some up myself is Kinetic Sand. You can lay it out and form it without making a huge mess that normal sand always does. Would work good if you can't get outdoors and want a sandy landscape in your photo.
Yeah fish tank props are expensive. Try a garden store where you can get small fake plants and moss like pot filler etc. Also check arts and craft shop too, they often have random odd size miniature things. Good luck and happy shopping.
I would use flour, but one problem, well more 2, one, flour smells awful, two, its gets everywhere and stains easily and i dont wanna stain my figures or my camera
Great video as usual 👌 very inspirational. A black backed glass chopping board is also great for standing things on to photograph and doesn't scratch as easy as the perspex version for product photography. Dishwasher safe too 😆 lol. Some great ideas love the mini led lights.
@@sirdork730i always wonder how that works… like i understand you can remove something, but then how do you replace the background that was behind the item..?
I was thinking adding like a smoke machine or smoke tube that throws mild smoke for the night/day at night with lights or day for Action effects or Scenes
Moin Jared, super cool 🤩das hab ich auch schon gemacht. Ich hab für meine Vintage Masters aus der Aquaristik einen Baumstamm geholt, passt echt super. 🤩

Hello Jared. I gotta say... I really admired your work toy photography. I have watched most of your videos. My question is... have you or did you try using green screen on your toy photography?
Great video again. Be carefull on buying these projectors, i bought one which is just crap. For wires i can recommend the wires from bicycle wheels, don't know the vocabulary in english. And also taking old Electronic stuff apart like radios, computers, DVD players will offer interesting diorama parts. Old CDs work well as a reflector sometimes. Have fun and thank you!
In a shot I’m posting on Wednesday. I used a small aputure led light, a flash, fairy lights, two crimson pillowcases, an old Amazon box, sticky tack, aaaaaand an led flashlight wrapped in tin foil since I don’t have a snoot to create a light beam.
Yea, I'll be incorporating several of these items into my toy photography now. Here are a few things I have with me when I plan on being out shooting for several hours. A big tarp for when I'm out in the woods shooting. Very helpful when the ground is wet and I can put all my gear on it and be able to sit down or lay down on it when my back starts to hurt. I also toss a portable power bank in one of my bags to keep my phone and JBL Pulse charged while I'm jamming music out in the middle of nowhere.
A little tip for the LED lights, if you need a color besides white you can color LED bulbs with sharpies and that usually works pretty well to change their colors.
Fantastic as always! My Amazon list just grew lol, definitely going to pick up some of those single LED lights! I also have a spare night light projector that I never even thought to use! So thanks for the ideas Jared

Awesome! They have tons of great stuff!
Please please be very cautious ! DO NOT USE FIREWORKS WITH FLOUR. Flower is so fine that it can catch fire. Please be careful
Thanks for the heads up! 😯
Catches fire? Now def have to use it. Could get that cool movie fireball explosion

Be careful with sugar. Some guys use powdered sugar. Sugar, particularly powdered sugar, is highly flammable
Remember that flour dust in the air is very flammable.
