    What I love about this film is how much the death of Uncle Ben hits the audience after you see how his relationship with Peter is. The acting from Cliff Robertson (RIP) was fantastic and he is hands down the best portrayal of live action Uncle Ben. I loved the old spiderman animated series. I wasn't born until 2000 but back then you still only had so much to watch and I would go through so many older series one by one. The old animated spiderman series was without a doubt one of my favorite adaptations of anything superhero. Honestly nothing touches the old animated superhero series. I know a lot of people may not care or have the same beliefs but I recently found out the old animated x men series had a special moment of wolverine reflecting on his faith in God and the teachings of the bible. It was super powerful and no matter what you believe or think it was a scene that was something in terms of emotion and character that the shows today could never hope to even match. So much emotion and good stuff came from those older shows.

    -Aunt May telling Peter that he isn’t Superman
    -The shot of Peter running and unbuttoning his shirt to reveal his Spider-Man suit underneath is a nod to Superman
    -Jameson flipping through Peter’s photos of Spider-Man and saying “crap, crap, megacrap” is a nod to the scene in Tim Burton’s Batman (Michael Keaton) from 1989 where the Joker (Jack Nicholson) is flipping through Vicky Vale’s photography portfolio.

    Green Goblin/Norman Osborn is pretty high on my villain list.
    He is Marvel's Joker...and Lex Luthor. (Though Doom is also similar to Lex.)

The second scene is from Civil War when Spiderman catches Bucky's punch like it's nothing and says "You've got a metal arm?". Spiderman is apparently stronger than I ever knew.

    1:58 I had a few bus drivers who would do that... did that. I grew up in a really small village in Germany. Basically there is just a clinic and less than a dozen family homes. My older sister and I were the only kids in the village. The bus stop was actually a bit off the village at a crossing with the road connecting other villages.
    There were no issues when my sister took the bus to school.
    But when I came to elementary...
    So note that although it was a school bus only taking kids from 5 villages to another village, the busses used were regular busses used for other lines during the day or for charter.
    So for the first two years of elementary my mother walked with me to the bus stop where we had to be unmistakenly visibly waiting right on the edge of the road or otherwise the bus drivers would speed by. Even though it was one of 6 total stops and they had to take me every morning. This also meant that we couldn't dare to use the bus shelter as it was oddly set off the road and not clearly visible from the road; you would have had plenty of time get into view IF the bus drivers were not speeding.
    As I mentioned the busses were regular line/route busses and so they had buttons to signal the driver to stop; if I did not press the button in time the bus drivers would speed past my stop; if I did they only lectured us kids on not pressing the buttons as "they knew where to stop"... as they sped past my stop;
    then I had to walk back on the road to the crossing;
    this went on for all of my elementary school years and usually also happened during my secondary school years with the sole difference that it was a regular line/route I had to take; which still meant that they usually had to make a hard stop from speeding and sometimes still lectured the passengers not to press the buttons in the middle of nowhere

      34:00 well... Spiderman did NOT kill Norman; he did kill himself with the glider and Harry doesn't know that Spiderman just didn't stop the glider with his own body;
      apparently Harry believes that Norman was lying there naked and then Spiderman broke into the Penthouse and stabbed him;
      the scene in the other movie, where the butler far too late reveals that Norman was stabbed just makes this worth; it also implies that the butler hid the crime from the authorities completely
      if you think about it, they would have tried to figure out where Norman was killed and what kind of blade the murder weapon was; AND they would have questioned Harry about these things alot since he would be a prime suspect; he better had a solid alibi for the time of the murder and no questionable transactions in his financials
      so yeah; the movie just asks for a lot to have us ignore that no critical thinking happens inbetween the body drop scene and the burial scene

    Amazing classic movie! Spider-Man 1 is the first Spider-Man I watched as a kid and I love it!
    Spider-Man (2002) was directed by Sam Raimi, who is known for making horror movies (aside of some superhero movies).
    This is why this film felt a little darker than usual movie film. It also includes some jump scares, which is a common trait in horror movies.
    You will see many horror traits in future Sami Raimi movies :D
    Also one little funfact at 8:17: this scene is not created with CGI or any film tricks.
    Toby had to do multiple takes to catch all the items on the canteen tray.
    He really has some spider reflexes ^^

    Fun characterization fact!! Willam has a natural gap between his two front teeth and when the Goblin is in control, the gap is present. When Norman is in control, the gap is not present.
    Why does Harry instantly assume Spider-Man killed his dad? So a thing that these Spider-Man movies don’t do a SUPER good job of showing, that is more prevalent in the comics, is that a vast majority of New York do NOT like Spider-Man. They think he’s shady for wearing a mask and only doing his heroics mainly at night (he’s a highschool student, he only has free time at night). So it’s entirely possible that Harry already didn’t really like Spider-Man just in general and seeing him next to his dads body was just a solid reason as to why.
    I am very excited for this recap to No Way Home. That movie was the Marvel movie of the year and I can’t wait for you to see it!!

    Thank you for taking this Spiderman Journey, this is almost like the build up to Infinity War/Endgame but only with No Way Home. This is the real stuff and I am so ready for this!!! An observation I would like to enter in for consideration is how the movie narrative says that Spiderman killed both that burglar and the Goblin, when in fact both of them died by their own attempts to kill Spiderman. The burglar pulled a gun on him and even though he broke the guy's wrist of the hand that was holding the gun, it was the shock that made the guy trip over the pipe in the floor (great place for an exposed pipe ((not)) and fall out the window. So when the people looked up, so was the narrative born that Spiderman killed him. The same with Gobby, Spidey's reflex dodged the glider which took the Goblin out of the game and just like when people saw him standing in the window at the death of the burglar, when Harry saw Spiderman standing over his father's body, so then another false narrative was born; which is probably why Jameson loves him so much, because he anything he does, is the gift that keeps on giving.
