21:35 "Inside me are two bats..." Sidenote, that guy with the fucked-up neck you were wondering about is a minor Batman villain called Mr. Zsasz, he carves a tally mark into his skin for each of his victims, hence the scars on his neck.
A large group of bats is called a cauldron. Large groups of bats are also referred to as a colony when in a large cave. They are also called a “cloud of bats” when a large dense group is in flight. 🦇
Prior to doing this movie, Christian Bale starred in a movie called The Machinist, where he was skeletal thin, shockingly so. He then had to gain back 60-pounds and get very fit to play this part. Consumate actor. Side note - Liam Neeson is fantastic in The Grey. Devastating and brutal movie.
The guy with all the scars is Victor Zsass, in the comics a homicdal murderer who cuts himself to keep count of each person he's killed. The actor playing him is Tim Booth, singer from the band James
PTSD is right. Batman's main origin story is that he refuses to get help for the trauma he experienced at a very young age and uses his Batman persona to let out his pent up hate, fear and aggression on people who had nothing to do with the trauma he suffered. Sure he might justify it by saying he is fighting crime but his methods, actions, relationship with his family, friends and loved ones speak of a man with severe mental illness and anguish almost to the point of sociopathy. I like Batman as a Superhero in a Superhero world but as a person, the man needs help. A lot of it.
I feel like that’s a very bleak way to look at batman that is largely created from the movies. Yes he’s a damaged individual but he’s not some raging psycho who’s only interest in beating on criminals. He genuinely helps people. Both as Bruce and batman. And he has sympathy and attempts to help many of the people he fights against. He’s not just some monster using his trauma to beat on people because they’re criminals. Batman is a man doing his best to help his city, Despite knowing he’s not gonna be able to fully change it no matter what he does. In my opinion batman is all about the small victories. It’s not about ending crime it’s about helping reduce the damage crime causes. Every time he saves a hostage or prevents an assault that’s win. Every time he gets a criminal to go straight and get a job at Wayne enterprises that’s a win. Every child that gets to have their parents alive and healthy is a win. Batman is about helping in whatever way he can, not beating on criminals to relief deep seeded trauma. I feel like this one thing no Batman movie has successfully showed off yet.
Bob Kane created Batman to be basically the polar opposite of Superman, both in physiology and psychology. The Man of Steel has often been referred to as the big blue boy scout, while the only thing Batman has in common with a boy scout is he's almost always prepared for any eventuality.
As Joker and other characters point out (in various storylines over the years) Batman is just as "crazy" as the Joker, it just so happens that his particular brand of crazy involves saving innocent people from harm, so Gordon humors him for the greater good. Some aspects of Batman are methodical, rational, and involve complex planning, but at the heart of it, yeah he has a few screws loose. Even Alfred said in this movie "when you told me about your grand plan to save Gotham, there was only one thing that stopped me from calling the men in white coats."
honestly, rewatching this trilogy just made me realize how much better the writing is in the TDK trilogy than any MCU film😂😂😂 gah dam the writing in this trilogy clears the mcu movies
I would say the only films that really are close writing wise in MCU are Civil War, Winter Solider, and Endgame imo. And it's because they all have different visions and directors and writers for the most part you know? So that makes sense.

I have a growing marvel legends figure collection. When i was 19 years old, my family and i were moving, and we had at the moment rented out a storage unit for what we couldnt get into our uhaul at the time. My action figures that i had collected over the years, my tobey maguire spider-man figures, the old ToyBiz marvel legends figures, and some more personal things like christmas stockings that my grandmother made for me, and things i had made as a kid in school, essentially, my entire childhood got auctioned off and sold to the highest bidder. Everything i collect, i know wont make up for what i lost, but it does what it can to fill up that space, and honestly, my 6 and 4 yr old son and daughter love the figures; we go on little hunts together so in a way, im making new memories. So, yeah, i definitely do have some sentimental value.
Gary Oldman will always be remembered for playing the best Lieutenant and Commissioner Gordon of all time, hes terrific in every role he plays!! He gives such heart and grit to Gordon👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️👌😎
so if you're continuing with this series just a semi-spoilery heads-up: between this movie and the next they recast the actress playing Rachel for stupid reasons. so she's played by someone else in the next movie.
Good thing they did Little Katie (Mrs Tom Cruise that was) looked more like a high school cheerleader in BB than an assistant DA - plus she can't act her way out of a brown paper bag.

Yes, DC was on fire with Nolan back in the day, but before the MCU was a thing, this trilogy had a single rival, Raimi's Spider-Man! Which honestly mirrors Nolan's Batman in many ways, as in; - The first movie was a great origin story for the main character. - The sequel was the best movie of all the trilogy - And the final entry was still good but not as successful as the previous ones. Highly recommended.
Every time I watch one of these, I ask ‘what movies HAVE you watched, Alex?’. Normally I just roll my eyes and laugh. This however, is beyond the pale! Utterly unacceptable behaviour! How have you not seen this already? Does this mean you have never seen The Dark Knight?!! SMH Alex. Shame on you.

Lmao the snap you made to “fix the lighting” caused my UA-cam screen to fritz out and permanently be a pitch black screen while the audio still played, movie and all. I’m going to accept this as the premium Batman experience
The quote's from the movie "The Sandlot". Babe Ruth says it to Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez as he leaves his dream/vision by going through the closet door. Also, a group of bats is called a cauldron or a colony of bats.
Bruce sure is lucky. His company coincidentally hat batmobiles and batsuits, his house has a secret entrance under a waterfall that leads into a bat cave for some reason, and he met a guy who taught him how to be a ninja.
Fun facts: 1 Cillian Murphy had auditioned for the role of Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Ultimately, Bale edged because of the voice range/ persona he could offer (grisly voice for Batman and spoilt/ poker face/ cocky attitude for Bruce Wayne). However, Nolan was impressed by Murphy that he decided to offer the role of Dr. Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow. 2. The cracks you hear when Ducard/ Ras and Bruce are dueling on the frozen lake, those are real sound of ice sheet cracking at the location. While shooting, the lake had big cracks and everytime they heard cracking noises, they had to stop and check before continuing. Nolan relies on practical effects and less on CGI (there are some great reports about this for Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk and Tenet). 3. There are several versions of the Tumbler (Batmobile). There’s a road going version, and then there’s one with an actual jet engine and super beefy suspensions to perform jumps. Nolan had the intention of building a batmobile that was a cross between Lamborghini and a Hummer (fast, utilitarian and strong) 4. Certain overhead shots of Gotham city in the movie are miniature sets that were built practical effects and for close up shots, it was in-studio setup. 5. Tech that we see Batman use was developed in reality and in use by the British Ministry of Defense. The idea was to be as close to reality and practicality, WHAT IF there is a real Batman in the world tomorrow (?). 6. Nolan had no plans to write and direct the two sequels. Even though the movie ends with a teaser of The Joker (card), it was a way to give an impression that the world of Batman will continue to new challenges (plus, since the previous Batman movie had ruined the franchise, WB wasn’t sure how Batman Begins would perform). But we are lucky we got The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Sadly, unlike Marvel movies, Nolan had kept a demand that his movies were to remain standalone and limited to Batman universe only. Hence why the DCEU had start of a new universe with Man of Steel in 2013 with the idea of a connected universe, after the release of The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.

Fun Fact the Secretary when Bruce returns to the office The black lady Christine Adams is the Wife to Black Lightning on the CW another Justice league Original character great show all seasons on Netflix
Fun Fact:Sam Hamm who wrote Batman(1989) and its comic book adaptation created Henri Ducard in The Comics who trained Batman to be a detective and what`s Ra`s well known to call Batman in The Comics,Video Games and Animated Series?"Detective".
I can add some insight to the film, the League of Shadows (or by the comics name, Assassins) is the organization responsible for Gotham's stock market decline that worsened the stability of the city, where Bruce's parents built the monorail to unite the city. The parent's death at Joe Chill's hands inadvertently motivated the rich and powerful to fix the decaying metropolis, which put a halt on the League's plan, so the League was indirectly responsible for killing the parents. This was their first attempt, and with Bruce Wayne, that was their second attempt and look how that went.
It’s called a colony of bats. Bonus facts: One bat can eat up to 1000 mosquitoes in just one hour, bats will eat up to their own bodyweight in insects every night and mosquitoes are the number one killer of human beings in the animal kingdom. 🦇 🖤
The dude who you asked what was up with his neck is another Batman villain named Victor Zsasz who is a homicidal maniac that worked for the mob butchering people. He has a scar on his body for every person he's killed, including what you saw on his neck.
"That gave it away! That totally gave it away!" THAT. WAS. THE. POINT lol :D it's answering her question on 2 levels: 1. "it doesn't matter what my name is", 2. "also, it's Bruce" That's GENIUS dialogue right there!
I'm a bailiff at my county's superior court house. Our security screening is pretty good, no one's ever snuck a weapon past us in recent memory. For Bruce to get a gun INTO the court house, and for Chill to not have a full police and court security escort while being lead out, either they're incompetent, or they were paid off. Also a group of bats can be a camp, colony, cloud, or flock

A group of bats is called a colony but according to google, they can also be called a "camp".
The Dark Knight is incredible! Can't wait for you to check it out!
lets go GREG!

"Heroes Live Forever, but Legends Never Die" Ha! Nice throw-in from "The Sandlot".
Been binging your reaction because they are great
thank you much love!
21:35 "Inside me are two bats..."
Sidenote, that guy with the fucked-up neck you were wondering about is a minor Batman villain called Mr. Zsasz, he carves a tally mark into his skin for each of his victims, hence the scars on his neck.
These movies do a fantastic job of making you forget you’re watching a superhero movie for 90% of said superhero movie
they do right so true!
A large group of bats is called a cauldron. Large groups of bats are also referred to as a colony when in a large cave. They are also called a “cloud of bats” when a large dense group is in flight. 🦇
Can't wait to see your reaction to the next one, Heath Ledger as the joker is going to blow your mind.
heard amazing things!
Omg yes thank you sir. You gonna love this trilogy!
There’s no fucking way he hasn’t seen these movies and the MCU unless he was in prison. I refuse to believe it.
i am!
Ok boomer
Nice sandlot quote “… follow ur heart kid and you’ll never go wrong”
honestly, rewatching this trilogy just made me realize how much better the writing is in the TDK trilogy than any MCU film😂😂😂 gah dam the writing in this trilogy clears the mcu movies
I would say the only films that really are close writing wise in MCU are Civil War, Winter Solider, and Endgame imo. And it's because they all have different visions and directors and writers for the most part you know? So that makes sense.
@@CrazeeAdam For me I'd replace Endgame with infinity war
This is a graphic novel whereas the MCU movies are the monthly issues l
A group of bats is sometimes called a cauldron
my dude you are in for a RIDE. please, please watch The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. this trilogy is easily one of the best ever made in the history of humanity in every aspect but especially the score by the one and only Hans Zimmer
Can't wait for the reaction to the next movie, but even more excited if you decide to react to The Batman 2022. Best movie imo
@@AspieMediaBobby this movie came out in 2005. They didn't divorce until 2012.

Good thing they did Little Katie (Mrs Tom Cruise that was) looked more like a high school cheerleader in BB than an assistant DA - plus she can't act her way out of a brown paper bag.
Babe Ruth says it in a dream sequence of the Sandlot!
Love your channel my guy. Your genuine excitement and sadness to what happens in the movies is refreshing and contagious. Always feels like im watching with a friend.
Yes, DC was on fire with Nolan back in the day, but before the MCU was a thing, this trilogy had a single rival, Raimi's Spider-Man!
Which honestly mirrors Nolan's Batman in many ways, as in;
- The first movie was a great origin story for the main character.
- The sequel was the best movie of all the trilogy
- And the final entry was still good but not as successful as the previous ones.
Highly recommended.
The dark night 2008
Iron man 2008
The dark night rises 2012
Avengers 2012
4 movies between for marvel
The MCU was a thing during this trilogy
😂 The quote is from The Sandlot heroes get remembered but legends never die follow your heart. You can never go wrong.
He's already Watched TDK. He mentioned it in his Iron Man film reaction.
29:28 A few months ago something like that happened in Costa Rica where the water supply got poisoned with a weird chemical component, so you weren’t allowed to drink it nor shower with it. You had to by water bottles
As to the "Piano Key" lock... it was done LONG before in an episode of.. Scoobie-Doo! ("FEED the organ and watch the floor.")
Oh my fucking FUCK! Don’t tell me that this man has NEVER seen the fucking Dark Knight. The best movie ever made?! NO SHOT HE HASNT SEEN IT!
Liam’s family was
TAKEN.
At least 3 times
Best line of movie is towards the end .” Im not gonna kill you , but I don’t have to save you either “. I got chills….
pretty crazy line!
He already saved him once, and that bit him in the butt. Everybody gets one, now ur on ur own bro
loving your movie reaction series...oh Dark Knight is a must after this
LOVE YOU DOOM!
Heros get remembered, but legends never die. From The Sandlot. Babe Ruth, played by Art LaFleur.
Fun facts:
1 Cillian Murphy had auditioned for the role of Batman/ Bruce Wayne.
Nolan had the intention of building a batmobile that was a cross between Lamborghini and a Hummer (fast, utilitarian and strong)
Hence why the DCEU had start of a new universe with Man of Steel in 2013 with the idea of a connected universe, after the release of The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.
that "room" is one of the Halls in McCormick Place convention Center in Chcicago.. most of the two moives were filmed there, at the same that moive "Wanted" was also being made also
A group of bats is sometimes called a cauldron. Bat groups are also called a colony when in a large cave or a cloud when a large group is in flight.
As a fellow Englishmen, that beans and cheese comment is spot on. Can't beat a good beans on toast with melted cheese and a spot of tea.

Fun Fact the Secretary when Bruce returns to the office The black lady Christine Adams is the Wife to Black Lightning on the CW another Justice league Original character great show all seasons on Netflix
My number one vigilante pic has to be Boondock Saints!
This is one of my top 5 faves. Handling fear. It’s important to confront fears and not run from them.
It’s called a colony of bats. Bonus facts: One bat can eat up to 1000 mosquitoes in just one hour, bats will eat up to their own bodyweight in insects every night and mosquitoes are the number one killer of human beings in the animal kingdom. 🦇 🖤
