Pigeon at the end like, this is mine now
for whatever reason the walking dead soundtrack started playing in my head
It's free real-estate
@lay lo mo diu you mean poopoo
Finally 🤣🤣🤣🤣
5 surviving is kind of amassing. Respect to the parents
that is a pretty large group to raise all at once.
I love the weird chittering motion the babies make with their beaks
They were panting because of the heat. It's called gular fluttering.
0:52 That Owl do be vibing with happiness tho
Barn Owl: Turn ur magic on. To me she'd say...

Wow that's crazy! Thank you for linking me this in my other comment on the last video. It's unfortunate that 2 didn't make it, but also being a wild animal isn't easy!
We uploaded the last video for this breeding season today, please see:

Can't find the first pigeon egg from before it seems barn nestlings ate them all.
This was my question
You can see what happened after video in the following video:: ua-cam.com/video/aAw2ZSKwkac/v-deo.html
The pigeon egg was pushed to the side and did not hatched but the pigeon actually survived and waited for the barn owls to leave and are now breeding in the same box. So maybe their method worked in the end. You can see the pigeon live in a stream in our channel.
I'm just now realizing that childhood is a huge bitch for birds. You have like 6 siblings, and your parents can only feed one of you at a time, and half the time you don't get food because there's not enough, you're hungry most of the time, and if you don't die of starvation, cold, being crushed by your parents, or pecked at by your siblings, then you'll be walking around on the corpses of the ones that did. And once you reach a certain age your parents just expect you to fuck off. Fun times
Day 33 is adorable and I'm aware that two don't make it so I'm gonna stop here and repress that knowledge.

I need more baby owls 🦉 vs adult pigeons 🐦 videos in my life.
They went from screeching hell spawn to distinguished gentlemen so fast
Cant wait for the next thriller of this new series
Bro this is like a reality tv show
But better because it's not scripted! 😃
I'm terrified
@@dontcall9912 delicious chocolate 🍫 I'll keep you safe.
oh god can you imagine how it smells in there...
Luckily barn owls do not have a good sense of smell
A pigeon reminds me of an Ex that will never go away.😂
I like how all the nestlings at 33 days old open and close their mouth
Barn owl family vs pigeons, who will win the house at the end?
🐦🐦
Sad that they passed. But nature happens. Best of life to the rest
2:06 : when my parents come home to my siblings and i with food…
Bird nests seem to get very dirty, full of feces, leftover prey and probably parasites like mites etc. Do birds clean their nests ? In a human made nest like this is it possible ? Does is affect the health of the nestlings ?
Barn owl nests are literal a cemetery of dead rodents. Luckily the owls do not have a good sense of smell and this how they evolved to breed. We clean the box only after the owls finish breeding in order not to disturb the owls.
@@CharterGroupBirdcams oh, so they're not in danger of any parasite or air pollution due to all the putrefaction? I mean at the end we even see the skeleton and remains of one of the brothers who didn't make it, not having smell allows these babies to sleep, eat and breathe while a there's a decaying body until it's completely rotten and there's only bones left? How can they even manage to look so clean living like that?
@@blue1133 barn owls have a lousy sense of smell, and in case of a dead sibling they usually eat him.
@@blue1133 the owls seem very clean, thry seem to be cleaning themselves towards the end, plus they probably ate most of the flesh so
5 of the 7 nestlings survived overtime
Nestling #7 died due to a wound in his air sac caused by its sibling and Nestling #6 died due to lack of food
Incredible, fed and fledged
Me when I see a camera: 0:52
Life is so cruel, it was inevitable the two small babies wouldn’t make it, I would’ve had to remove them and raise them as my own 😆😭
Just imagine you as a barn owl and some random pigeon comes to ur house and makes a nest
The house seems so small to fit those owls in
I can see why you would think that but we have been using these boxes for 15 years, each year we have around 50 breeding pairs and some pairs raise as many as 11 nestlings.
@@CharterGroupBirdcams oh wow! thank you for the information and the reply 🙂
@@CharterGroupBirdcams 50 breeding pairs... That's a lot of mice you must have!
@@CharterGroupBirdcams I'm sorry, 11?!
And so it came to pass, the fledgling death was a boon to the enterprising pigeon who lost an egg weeks before. Bones were used to line the new nest, ribs were used as struts for a bed and owlet feathers padded the entire penthouse. Pigeon mother was pleased, pigeon mother cackled into the night as a new horror would be born, born to defecate horror onto grandmas and farmers alike, born to instill fear into the world.
It is here that Pigvid-21 was born.
Anyone know what happened to the original egg the pigeon laid?

that is a big batch of nestlings for just one pair of owls. towards the end the parents had to basically feed multiple adult sized owls.
Nice cams! What kind of lightning do you use for the night illumination?
It is Infra Ref (IR)
In the end, it's funny "Pigeon gets the trone back" part 2!...Pigeon: Hey I have a carpet now..neat! wait....what?? Umm unsettling but ok...
Well, it's quite sad that one of the owls didn't make it ... it turned into a carpet now for the pigeon, nature will make the work to transform the corpse into something useful, hopefully (Like I always heard, Nothing is lost everything is transformed in nature) OwO; Sorry I had to say it lol
Just saying how nature really works without human interference, select who can survive in the wild or die trying ...with us there this wouldn't happen, just stating a fact :3
Two of them didn't make it. There were 7, then only 5.
What was wrong with owl #6 his neck was bulging.
He was attacked by one of his older sibling and his airsac was punctured. Sadly, he died later.
Came to see what happened to the pidgeon egg. Cracked a couple days later.
Pigeon: hmm, ah yes a nest scatting by screaming little demons who are able to b-slap an eagle, are multiple and have parent 3 times my size who destroy my previous eggs........
. what a perfect place to lay another egg!
the whole ass skeleton at the end girl help
Omg I wounder if mom and dad is ever like shut the f up already lol😂
I don't know much about the costs. But can you make a smaller hole for pigeons, at least for that brave couple.
There are around 150 nest boxes in the area, some of which are empty. All the boxes are add in order that barn owls will be used as biological pest control agents of rodents instead of rodenticides. Since a barn owl pair eats between 2000-6000 rodents farmers want them in their farms.
@@CharterGroupBirdcams I see. That seems very nice :)
I figured that more than two would have died but for 5 of them to survive to fledge is great.
1:31 after the 6 baby owl died, did somebody take it's body away? Cause I can't see it inside the nest
No the nestling ate it
@@CharterGroupBirdcams OMG... They are really wild, right? They can do cannibalism o.o
The one at 33 days the one barn owl in the camera like dancing all opening it’s mouth
What happened to the 1 pigeon egg?
Destroyed
probably got yeeted out, eaten or turned into a carpet just like that one nestling that died
I am also very curious about that.

what happens to dead nestlings?
Probably removed
what is the crazy breathing/wind sound in the video with the pigeon invasion?
barn owl nestlings begging (the hissing sound) calls sound a lot like Dark Vader.
@@CharterGroupBirdcams wow that’s an intense sound for a little nestling!
Why they in such a small house? Do owls normally pick small areas
Small for people but not for owls
0:55 was funny
Damn so the babies just left just like that? How do they even know what to do or where to go? do the parents just come back home see that they’re all missing and just like don’t care?
After fledging the owlets still come back to the nest and stay around, learning how to fly and hunt while the parents provide food, but gradually they stop so about after 3-4 weeks the fledglings need to be independent and disperse.
How were the dead bodies removed?
they were eaten. also, we clean the boxes but only after the birds leave in order not to disturb the,
Why are the nestling owls different sizes?
The strong eat, the weak don't survive. I assume they were also born a bit later so the others had a head start. Harsh reality of it
Barn owl females lays one eggs every two days but incubates after she lays the first eggs so the nestlings hatch in 1-3 days intervals. If there are 7 eggs then the oldest will be around 14 days older than the youngest. This is called asynchronous hatching. The difference in size reduced competition between the nestlings because the older ones are able to take food first.
In a barn owl nest should be maximum of 3 chicks because if there are more some of them will die!
In Israel barn owls raise on average between 4-6.5 nestlings depends on the year. Earlier laying pairs fledge between 6-11 nestlings and later laying pairs between 1-5. In the USA and Europe it is definitely different as you wrote.

They appear to die in place and their bodies decompose along with the nesting materials and bird waste.
I apologize if my answer isnt soft enough, but I wanted to approach your question from a purely factual, scientific, objective standpoint. I also had a similar question as to whether the birds nesting habits would include removing the bird carcasses or whether or not they would leave them in place...and if you watch till the very end, we see evidence that they're left in place.
@@Faq-ubeach ooh thank you!! I also was wondering if they would remove the carcasses of the dead ones , eat them or just leave them be , so thank you for your answer

Cruel I know its nature rather not watch
This is nothing...watch some videos of people being murdered or die by accident.
@@WHITELIONNYC why
You should’ve thrown live mice there so they wouldn’t have starved and then cover it temporarily with a screen so the mice can’t escape, then when they’re done just remove it…. But then again this is nature at work… still sad though.
Do you know how many animals live and die per day lmao
You would have killed the mouse in the process. It's life for life. So in the end either a owl dies or a mice. It's pointless to give them food that's alive by us. If you let nature do then It's no one's fault that the owl died but if you sacrifice a mouse for an owl then it would be your fault that the mouse died.
@@surou5855 exactly then they become dependent on humans for food and don't hunt when they're fully grown.
Like he said, he is just letting nature do it’s thing
You're not supposed to interfere. As much as I wanted to help my purple martins when a fledgling fell out of the nest box and succumb to the heat, I was told not to interfere.
