Love these 7.5” videos. Starting to build one now
Thank you for shining a light on the 7.5 AR- I'm very new to this length and I love it. The purpose driven advantages are excellent and the drawbacks aren't anywhere near the level the naysayers claim.
I bet Abner gets so fucking tired of these "a 7.5 isn't good for anything serious" comments... He has proven over and over and over that yes, it is good for lots of things.
You have no idea how true those words are.
More quality instruction from a quality instructor. one day when Im big I want to train with you brother
Abner, you every check out HRF magwell. It’s a polymer easy to install flared magwell. Helps get those precious thousands of a seconds on emergency reloads.
Abner, sorry if you already talked about this elsewhere, but how do you assess shoooting steel at the distances that you use? What considerations and normal distance is needed? Thank you!
Here you go: ua-cam.com/users/videoi3n2wdL-I-g
The more I learn, the more I appreciate this channel and especially Abner
Thank you sir.
Hi! I recently picked up a 7.5” 5.56 ar pistol. I’m trying to figure out what’s the best all around ammo grain to purchase in bulk. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
I would stick with M193.
What are your thoughts on the Primary Arms Cyclops w/ the ACSS Reticle for sighting purposes on a get home/SHTF 7.5 system? Love your perspective!
I've never used that optic.
I have that optic on my 7.5 saint and it’s excellent- highly recommended
Would love to see a lefty focused video with tips etc.
What muzzle device are you using?
It's called the KOMP. It's one I designed and manufactured a few years ago.
Abner, if you want money flooding in the front door, offer one-on-one training classes. Half the day is working with the EDC AR platform of your customer, (mine is an 11.5"AR). Next, give me half day on correct response to an active shooter & trauma response. MANY MANY MANY people will pay you $1000 per day, (no I'm not joking), to learn first aid, fast deployment and mindset. You could charge $1000 per head and teach 3 people per session. Most of us will pay to come back year after year. Your experience matters. Your UA-cam channel is followed by people who can actually think for themselves. We will come to you. Give it some thought.
It's interesting that you brought this up because I have thought about doing something like this.
Doooo itttt!!!!!!
did I hear you say ar's and ak's run better for lefty's?
Yup
What do you have it sighted in at?
100 Yards.
@@Tier1Citizen hmm fair fair, I run @35 yards.
what do you mean they run better for lefties? im left handed as well
We can see into the chamber and have ready access to it without having to roll the weapon over. Also we can run the AK-47 charging handle with our support hand without rolling the rifle over, and on an AR-15 we can reach over the top, also without having to take our shooting hand off the grip. Those are just some of the basic ways in which lefties dominate over righties.
what handguard are you using?
This is an 8" BCM KMR Handguard. I prefer KMR over M-LOK because the rail panels actually stay in place better.
There's no one size fits all for get home kit. Everyones needs/wants will differ. Personally a stocked glock gets it done for me for many reasons though the 7.5 is still cool.
Dose the 7.5 have a forward assist and ethos cover
Nope, neither one.
@@Tier1Citizen I’m picking up a new set no forward assist and dust cover thanks
Only reason for me to get an AR15 setup under 16" if its .300blk or 7.62x39 or maybe pistol caliber rifle.. but would be nice to have regardless XD
Agree. Anything under 10" for 5.56 is kind of dumb.
While a little dumb for most situations, super short barrels like this are still able to stabilize projectiles. Hollow points are still effective at lower velocities, especially if they're heavy for caliber. That's a far from useless package. Compared with other PDWs, it's still rather viable.
@@keres993 exactly! Everyone seems to think 5.56 comes in 55 grain surplus Lake City only and if the barrel length won’t perform as desired with that, then they say it’s useless. I don’t understand why expanding projectiles in 5.56 are such a wild concept 😂
I dont see any use for this unless your some sort of vehicle operator or clearing rooms all day. Better weapon platforms with short barrel out there that preform better for those tasks. And last thing anyone in their right mind would wanna do is clear rooms and engage in those fights. If you gotta fight distance and concealment is your best friend. I get sometimes you dont have a choice when a fight comes to you, still better to avoid it and have better gear than a 5.56 with a short barrel that dont preform ballistically in the ether of the worlds.
I used to have a 7.5" 5.56 as my PDW/truck gun/travel gun, but I sold it and replaced it with a Sig Rattler in .300 BLK simply because I get to keep the very short platform but have the ballistic advantage of the .30 cal round.
My "do-it-all platform" is a 14.5" pinned/welded 5.56...
What size barrel u running
7.5
You realize he's baiting you, right?
@@Tier1Citizen whos bating. I was asking u the question. But i saw it on the post of the video after. I been wanting to build a 7.5
@@TheGlock34manit's in the title
Bruh!
The GlockUzi, makes a great get home in the car gun.
A SAM7k with 10.5 inch barrel is infinity better TBH and still smaller then a 7.5 inch barreled AR
Unless your SAM7K is in 5.56 I think the the 7.5” AR is better for a situation where one has to “hump it home” and with the use of AR’s 5.56 ammo will be much more available than 7.62x39.
If you are well versed in your AK then use what you know. Abner knows his rifle from years of running them.
@@J.Young808 might as well just use a Glock with stock and 33 rounders
@@J.Young808While better than nothing, I replaced my 7.5" 5.56 with a Sig Rattler in .300 BLK as my GHG/PDW/truck gun/travel gun.
.300 BLK is much better suited for a platform this short.
That being said, I would have no qualms whatsoever picking up a 7.5" 5.56 if that was the only option available. For what it's worth, Noveske used to make a 7.5" SBR in 5.56 called "The Diplomat."
If you look on their website nowadays, the Diplomat is now a 7.94" SBR in .300 BLK. The shortest offering available from them in 5.56 is 10.5".
I'm guessing there's a reason for that...
It is illegal to rock the Pat Mac loincloth with a big gut 🤦♂
Nice!
I ran one of these as a kid mowing lawns in FL, and have continued to do so since then. So, I win.
Oh YES!!!! 7.5" time
I'm old school, I dont want to illuminate my position.
@@ricktoole9991 But what if you're not trying to hide? You know that you do have the option to not turn it on depending on the situation. It's definitely better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
It would be nice to be able to have an SBR. I can’t even have a braced weapon should the illegal AFT law making get overturned. Hopefully we can get the Unconstitutional laws on the books of Hawai’i overturned.
Who listens to that bs anyways 😅
@@wood-wheel-wizard😏
Do watcha gonna do and don't post content about it :)
I’m too from Hawaii. Left that commi state for a red state. Best decision I ever made.
1:11 It's not a viable weapon if we're talking 5.56 or 7.62. It's worse than the alternatives in almost every aspect. 300blk makes sense from a barrel that short if it's suppressed, but a barrel that short for 5.56 isn't good for anything serious. A "get home gun" should have a light unless you're 100% sure you won't need it at night.
It is, it's better than handguns, in terms of velocity, capacity, sights, versatility and addons, ammo and price, it will put down anything in 50 yards easily, plus getting the maneuvers on point because of the short barrel, the only bad thing is going to be the bark that comes out of it, but that goes even for 16 inches... you won't take this shortie to hunt deer or hogs, because is not the right tool for it... if I had to choose between my handgun or this 7.5 I'm choosing my 7.5...
