Since im allergic to morphine and fentanal does nothing im stuck using oxicodone for my amputation and the infection in my other leg. When they tried to put me to sleep for the surgery to amputate my leg they administered what should have knocked out a normal person, it didnt work. The anesthesiologist said to the doctor that he had already given me the normal dose but I was wide awake. It took 4 doses to put me into a twilight state and a 5th dose to finally put me out enough to administer the paralitic but i could still hear and feel most of what they were doing. Yup i felt them removing my leg, but it was to save my life because the infection was overwhelming my system and killing me. Better gone than dead. Yall dont know what pain really is when you feel them take a bone saw to your bone and the muscle tissue goes with it. I couldnt scream but i would have had i not been paralyzed.

The May-June issue of the NIH Catalyst featured a recent study by Dr. Karen Berman's group on the mechanism of pain insensitivity in individuals with 7q11.23 duplication syndrome.
It's not the kind of insensitivity you want. Pain is ... good

Let me tell you, screaming, TENS, and deep breathing do very little to help chronic pain. I hear it all the time repeated over and over, that chronic pain patients can make our pain better by thinking different. Mindset change only helps neuroplastic pain significantly. Majority of chronic pain patients I know don’t have neuroplastic pain, it’s pain due to injury or disease.
